Hi David and Ruth! I was too tired for Gamelan rehearsal last week ... I might get there this week! We're Sundanese, which is a different style completely from Balinese.

@Henry: The current trend is to name the new servers after instruments from anywhere, but that start with "gu" (because they're graphics card servers used for machine learning)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Jeff Golick:

Here is a new (to me) gamelan title that I recently noticed:

the 6th of march but the still "don't know about tickets yet".
- i guess they're waiting to see how many people click "notify me" to gauge how much they can charge.
...i probably can't afford it anyway.
incredible line-up though: Okkyung Lee, Susan Alcorn, Liz Kosack, Laura Ortman.
Avatar 4:41pm geezerette:

This can't have been recorded in 1928! Astonishing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm steveo:

@coel I went to the union pool site and found tickets for sale for $12
Avatar 4:44pm Suling of Ubud or Jangér of Abian Timbul:

These are great gamelan player names ^, stylish as hell.
Avatar 4:45pm fred:

@geezeette: Why not? I have a comp of music from the '20s that Ian Nagoski made years ago from 78s that is equally amazing
Avatar 4:49pm coelacanth∅:

ohhh, steveo i see. Thanks.
i didn't know where she was playing so my search was very general; and results not very productive. the site i got to is called "songkick".
Avatar 4:49pm geezerette:

Fred, just very impressed with excellence of sound quality, not actually doubting, rather exclaiming.
