Hi Michael
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm chresti:

I is in the jury duty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Uncle Michael:

Hello, Kris.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm Uncle Michael:

are you sequestered, chresti?
Avatar 10:04pm Little Danny:

Hey Kris, hey all
Avatar 10:05pm Little Danny:

UM: did you pick up your palette of library records?
Avatar 10:06pm still b/p:

That made me check something about The Rowan and Martin "Here Come the Judge" bits, got Sammy doing one and watched it, and playback was RIGHT in time with the still-playing Pigmeat beat. Bang the gavel and declare it a miracle!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm Uncle Michael:

Yes, yesterday morning. There are 721 pieces. I've begun working on an inventory.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm chresti:

Don't think so. UM, It's still in the jury selection process, which is taking a long time
Avatar 10:07pm Little Danny:

Awesome! So stoked you got it.
Avatar 10:08pm still b/p:

Delivery....dropped with cargo net and parachute out the back of a C130?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm Uncle Michael:

Four days after you showed me that link, the records are in my basement.
Avatar 10:08pm Little Danny:

Wait, chresti, what? Where are you? Also hi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Uncle Michael:

I picked them up, still b/p.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Uncle Michael:

chresti, say hello to Judge Pigmeat for us.
Avatar 10:10pm Little Danny:

Gorgeous. Almost any soul ballad with vibraphone up front will do it for me
Avatar 10:10pm coelacanth∅:

Uncle M has a box truck. you didn't know?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm Uncle Michael:

Sedan delivery is a job I know I'll keep. It sure was hard to find.
Avatar 10:12pm coelacanth∅:

chresti's been a bad grrrl. she's in jail.
hello everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm Uncle Michael:

Snowing pretty good here, right now. Fingers crossed for a snow day tomorrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Uncle Michael:

Lazer etched vinyl...Kiwi DJ...SPLIT ENZ
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

really enjoying these tunes!
Avatar 10:18pm Kris Holmes:

really enjoying your user name
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm chresti:

I am in San Gabriel, CA, LD. Jury duty is downtown LA
Avatar 10:19pm Kris Holmes:

Lazer Cut is probably better description
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm Uncle Michael:

I hear there's a bangin' xiao lon bao joint in San Gabriel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm chresti:

Coel-jury duty is my punishment.
Avatar 10:20pm still b/p:

Speaking of court....old late 50s Perry Mason shows are on TV. Can't be bothered watching an episode, but a minute's glimpse is somehow satisfying with recognizable guest actor faces, the period design of clothes, offices, etc., and the feelgood of handsome quality black and whiiiiite.
Avatar 10:20pm Little Danny:

@chresti: good luck!
Avatar 10:23pm Little Danny:

Huh. How'd you do that, Kris? Doubles of this disc?
Avatar 10:24pm Kris Holmes:

yeah found 2 copies at a coin show on the weekend
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm Uncle Michael:

Andrew? Isn't this Sol K. Bright and his Hollywaiians?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm Uncle Michael:

Wait, this *is* different than the Sol K. Bright record.
Avatar 10:27pm Kris Holmes:

it's a cover
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm Uncle Michael:

By the way, Sol's "K" stands for Kamaluhiakekipikealiʻikaʻapunikukealaokamahanahana
Avatar 10:29pm Little Danny:

Oooohhh wow. There is some great stuff on 49th State. Buy! Buy! Buy!
Avatar 10:31pm Kris Holmes:

hahaha, it's the furthest HPB from my house, I bet the next time i'm out there in a month or so they'll still be there
Avatar 10:32pm Franco Twinkie:

Uncle Michael - Right you are! Soup dumplings all around us. Our Favorite is Hui Tou Xiang. And right next door to that is One and One, formally Lusious Dumpling, Also, how you say...bangin'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks again for that link, Danny. I'm going to shut the laptop now. Keep the tunes coming, Kris...and thanks. Night, all.
Avatar 10:33pm Kris Holmes:

night michael
Avatar 10:34pm Little Danny:

good lord that sounds good Franco
Avatar 10:35pm Little Danny:

Great Beny Moré track! I wonder if Chano Pozo played on this...
Avatar 10:36pm Franco Twinkie:

If you ever are in the SGV....
Avatar 10:44pm Franco Twinkie:

A romper su culo - I'm gonna rip you a new asshole.
Avatar 10:47pm Little Danny:

What are your feelings about styrene, Kris?
  10:49pm b4ss:

Kris! greetings from a warm and sunny Wednesday Auckland afternoon! Guess who!
Avatar 10:49pm Franco Twinkie:

Danny, is styrene really a stylus wrecker? A friend says never thumb hold while cueing.
Avatar 10:51pm coelacanth∅:

my sister got this one for her dr.who fan kids
Avatar 10:51pm Kris Holmes:

That Beny More is i think pretty early, Perez Prado is the backing orquesta. Shame it's so quietly pressed.
Avatar 10:52pm Kris Holmes:

wow, i wonder if that's one of his?
Avatar 10:53pm coelacanth∅:

i'm wonderin' too!
Avatar 10:54pm Little Danny:

@franco: I've never knowingly wrecked a stylus with styrene. The problem I think is more with the records themselves; their grooves are very susceptible to distortion after just a few plays.
Avatar 10:57pm Kris Holmes:

I can't guess?!
Avatar 10:58pm Kris Holmes:

Wait, I know B4SS!!!! It's gotta be Guy!
  10:58pm b4ss:

Aw man you've already forgotten that plate on that blue Honda Civic :)
Avatar 10:59pm Kris Holmes:

no way dude, i got it!!!
  10:59pm b4ss:

Yeah man - great to connect.. great grooves too :)
Avatar 11:00pm Kris Holmes:

yeah Franco & Dan, the Styrene is what degrades, not the needle
  11:02pm b4ss:

Awesome tracks to work to - actually too awesome, productivity decreasing!! :)
Avatar 11:03pm Franco Twinkie:

Thanks guys, that makes more sense. After all, diamond needles...
  11:09pm b4ss:

Aw man.. I miss our jams too!!
Avatar 11:10pm Franco Twinkie:

The Cramps too!
Avatar 11:11pm northguineahills:

back in time!
Avatar 11:11pm Kris Holmes:

yeah, The Cramps version is great
Avatar 11:12pm Franco Twinkie:

On Carlton no less! I have a record called How To Be A Better Bowler on Carlton.
Avatar 11:14pm Kris Holmes:

yeah it's one of those labels
Avatar 11:14pm Little Danny:

And?! Did your game improve, Franco?!
Avatar 11:15pm Kris Holmes:

I drive past the driving range & always mean to stop & hit a bucket but never do :(
Avatar 11:16pm Franco Twinkie:

I am a truly shitty bowler. So the answer is no.
Avatar 11:17pm Kris Holmes:

oh wait, i read it as Be A Better Golfer, they probably have that record too though on Carlton lol
Avatar 11:18pm Little Danny:

Then we should bowl, Franco. I guarantee I'm worse. Stick arms bowl no strikes
Avatar 11:20pm Little Danny:

Is golfing a big thing in NZ, Kris?
Avatar 11:20pm Franco Twinkie:

Also in my Carton Corner - A 'marital aid' record, but strangely not one of their How To Be a better series.
Avatar 11:20pm Kris Holmes:

Yes, golfing is very popular
Avatar 11:20pm still b/p:

We had comment discussion on Tai Chi poses recently...I think Stick Arms Bowl No Strikes is one of them.
Avatar 11:22pm Little Danny:

  11:22pm b4ss:

Yep @Little Danny.. so many golf courses in Auckland the councils wanna take over some golfing land to build houses :D
Avatar 11:24pm Little Danny:

@b4ss: seems sensible enough!
Avatar 11:24pm Little Danny:

Here ya go my Kiwi friends: www.discogs.com...
  11:26pm b4ss:

Hahaha @Little Danny I can just see someone taking a battery vinyl player out to the green!!
  11:27pm b4ss:

Yeah Kris that early Dave Grusin was an ear-opener, never heard that sort of stuff before from him.. cool
Avatar 11:30pm Franco Twinkie:

In that same vein, Kris. My sister saw a fake Guess Who at the county fair. How could you resist cat calling while eating a taffy hot dog?
  11:31pm Dean:

Holy shit. My parents have that Arnold Palmer record.
Avatar 11:32pm Kris Holmes:

Avatar 11:32pm Franco Twinkie:

Hi Dean! Do you golf?
Avatar 11:33pm still b/p:

"Cat calling while eating a taffy hot dog" is also a, you know....
  11:33pm Dean:

I am vehemently opposed to all sporting activities.
Avatar 11:34pm Little Danny:

hahaha that is so Dean
Avatar 11:34pm Franco Twinkie:

Zen Koan or...Sno cone?
Avatar 11:35pm still b/p:

Thought that was a soul-ish version of Tenderly.
Avatar 11:36pm northguineahills:

I only do disc golf (multiple public courses here), and soccer golf. (No monoculture involved in either sport).
Avatar 11:39pm Little Danny:

I definitely golf: www.instagram.com...
  11:39pm Dean:

Sport = preparation for war. That makes me uncomfortable.

OTOH, it's really hard to imagine how golf is in any conceivable way preparation for war.
  11:40pm b4ss:

Ok Kris enjoyed the show and thanks for the shoutout :) gotta disconnect, leaving work now. Great tracks, hope to be a regular on the channel. Catch u later!
Avatar 11:40pm Kris Holmes:

Dan your backswing may be a bit generous there
Avatar 11:40pm northguineahills:

I try to visit every mini-golf course I can find, for no good reason!
Avatar 11:41pm Kris Holmes:

Thanks Guy! Great to have you here. Say hi to Ambi & Aquila!!
Avatar 11:41pm Little Danny:

Mini-golf is always a good reason. The best reason.
  11:42pm b4ss:

Will do! Awesome show!
Avatar 11:42pm northguineahills:

@Dean: It was developed from the Scots, extrapolate from there.... (not the white bread schiidt the yanks made their own...
Avatar 11:44pm Franco Twinkie:

They use to show these early music shorts by Film Factory on Boss City. I really loved The Casinos doing Then You Could Tell Me Good By. They were so square and all hanging out the window of a train.
Avatar 11:45pm Little Danny:

oh Kris you're definitely judging, it's the only fun we get as record collectors
Avatar 11:45pm still b/p:

Thermoplylae was just wide enough for a shuffleboard court.
  11:49pm Dean:

I'll take it to another level. I'm vehemently opposed to competition. The whole idea baffles me. I'll add, it baffles me more than anybody else!
Avatar 11:55pm northguineahills:

Happy night thanks, Kris!
Avatar 11:55pm Kris Holmes:

Thanks for being here NGH!
Avatar 11:55pm Little Danny:

Wow, that Tams was great! Anything that nicks "Unchain My Heart."
Avatar 11:56pm Little Danny:

Thanks for the fine show, Kris
Avatar 11:56pm Kris Holmes:

yeah I love that track so much
Avatar 11:56pm Kris Holmes:

Thanks Dan!
Avatar 11:57pm northguineahills:

FIve Stairsteps & Cubie, new to me!
  11:57pm Dean:

Is this Kenny Rogers? Another WFMU DJ played this a day or two or three ago.
Avatar 11:58pm Kris Holmes:

yeah early Kenny
Avatar 11:58pm still b/p:

Posing: "Giving thanks for enjoyment of 2 hours, though they flew by too quickly."
Avatar 11:58pm Franco Twinkie:

Speaking of Unchain My Heart, I just got a great version by Blackburn and Snow, San Francisco psych folk duo.
  11:59pm Dean:

Maybe Joe McGasko yesterday.
Avatar 12:00am coelacanth∅:

Thanks Kris
'night folks
Avatar 12:01am still b/p:

Coooool Kenny:
Avatar 12:03am northguineahills:

bueana suerte, Kris!
Avatar 12:04am coelacanth∅:

impeach that asshole! (at the very least!)
Avatar 12:04am Kris Holmes:

thanks everyone!
Avatar 12:05am northguineahills:

It took me four years that there was a honeydrippers sample in UM's intro,(I'm sorta slow).
