Not sure that they were able to save the world - perhaps if their single had been played more?
  6:15pm
dustyspriglet:

They tried, and that is a good thing!
Avatar 6:16pm
cometothesunshine:

Yes, the previous owners of this 45 certainly played it a lot. Or, left it out on table somewhere.

I never saw the 5D but I did see Billy & Marilyn with Jimmy Webb in a cabaret club in the late 90s.

Gaylord Fields:

Hi, Andrew! Just yesterday I was listening to a version of Another Day, Another Heartache on YouTube where someone had remixed the song to get rid of the modulation at the end! I have to admit to liking it.
Avatar 7:24pm
cometothesunshine:

Hmm...I will have to check that out, Gaylord!
Avatar 7:24pm
cometothesunshine:

A whole lot of great Hal Blaine pick-ups and fills on these tracks.
  7:25pm

"The Magic Garden" was their "Sgt. Pepper's...", of course. More Jimmy Webb Genius!

A Magic Garden of TALENT on this album!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm
Gaylord Fields:

Here 'tis: www.youtube.com...

The remixer also slowed it down a half step, which sounds odd to my ears but doesn't wreck the song at all.
Avatar 7:28pm
cometothesunshine:

This song, written by Jefferey Comanor, is one of my favorites - really an amazing melody and lyric.
Avatar 7:33pm
cometothesunshine:

MCE - your LP's cleaned up nicely!
  7:34pm
Hip Toad:

I saw Jeffrey Comanor live *twice*. Once as the opening act for Blue Oyster Cult at the Long Beach Arena (as a last minute replacement fort Marc Bolan & T. Rex, who had cancelled due to laryngitis) and again at The Golden Bear, which was a much more appropriate venue for his vibe, obviously.
Avatar 7:35pm
mce1965:

They sure did! That software is truly amazing.
Avatar 7:35pm
cometothesunshine:

Obviously!
  7:38pm
izzy:

Should be a packed homestretch to the show!
Avatar 7:38pm
mce1965:

Hard to imagine Comanor as the BOC warmup... a magical '70s moment for sure
Avatar 7:40pm
cometothesunshine:

Eclectic bills may have made people never want to see opening acts after the 1970's
