Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am Granny Spicy Tuna:

Linda Lee, howdy! Let's play on the jungle gym!
Avatar 10:10am Linda Lee:

hi Granny! how long can you hang from the monkey bars?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am Granny Spicy Tuna:

Let's see? Can you do the knee-twirls around the bar? I was always envious of the ones who could.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am Granny Spicy Tuna:

But i had great skills for doing cartwheels on the balance beam! Haven't tried THAT in awhile! :)
Avatar 10:13am Linda Lee:

oh golly no. i'm a clumsy child. what i really like is the swings.
Avatar 10:13am Linda Lee:

wow!! cartwheels on the balance beam!! that's impressive!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am adampsyche:

still trying to get over the iron maiden vegetable song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am adampsyche:

that was great i mean :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am melinda:

I loved monkey bars. I think there is still a set at my dad's place where I grew up.
Avatar 10:16am Linda Lee:

actually i like sitting in my room drawing better than anything!
  10:16am JakeGould:

I had no idea what year I woke up in when that Get Along stuff came on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am melinda:

@Linda I did a lot of drawing too. And staging social events with my stuffed animals.
Avatar 10:17am Linda Lee:

that is cool, melinda! our monkey bars are long, long gone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am adampsyche:

lol i'm going to switzerland tomorrow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18am Granny Spicy Tuna:

Honestly, i spent a lot more time with a book or daydreaming in a treetop than i did on the monkey bars. Still do, i suppose!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18am Amanda:

Fabulous! Hope this gets you in the mindset, adam!
Avatar 10:19am Linda Lee:

@melinda ~ you too? i was all about the stuffed animals. no dolls, just stuffed animals.
we get along for a reason, Granny! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Granny Spicy Tuna:

But at Double-Dip Recess we can do anything, as long as it's fun and everyone plays nice.
  10:19am JakeGould:

@melinda: You know, there are some “drink and draw” gatherings that are unstructured and basically adults just sitting in a bar of cafe… Drawing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20am adampsyche:

hoooooo boyyyyy let it rip
Avatar 10:20am Linda Lee:

i was once told parts of 'the sound of music' were filmed in the catskills! is this true?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20am melinda:

@Granny I think I managed a knee-twirl on the uneven parallel bars but never a cartwheel on the balance beam. I loved the idea of gymnastics but was a lousy gymnast. I think you need to be highly in tune with your physical environment and more of a risk-taker, I was more timid and head-based.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am Amanda:

@Linda Lee, I have no idea, but it would make perfect sense. So green and mountainous up there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am Webhamster Henry:

The delightful puppets of Bil Baird: image.slidesharecdn.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am melinda:

@Jake I'd do that. There is a "maker's night" kind of thing at the coffee joint near where I work that includes drawers but I always just want to go straight home after work.
Avatar 10:23am Linda Lee:

@Amanda ~ it is indeed. still! (where i am.)
@melinda ~ i should have 'timid & head-based' tattooed on my bicep! :-D
  10:23am JakeGould:

@melinda: Yeah, I know how that “Get me out of here…” feeling is. Also, if you are and employee and then “switch” to being a customer that can be weird in some places.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am Granny Spicy Tuna:

melinda, i never got one stinking knee-twirl. We each got different superpowers and now i can celebrate the differences without envy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am melinda:

@Linda haha!
  10:25am JakeGould:

Piece of kids trivia if you like squirrels and winter has struck near you: Squirrels really like eating apples and berries in the winter since all the water is frozen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am Sean d:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am Amanda:

Yo yo

Ha thanks Jake! squirrels love eating apples and berries at every time, tbh
Avatar 10:26am Linda Lee:

good tip, Jake! thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am Mike East:

Great show this morning, guys!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am melinda:

I still want a tree house. When i was little we had a low cinderblock building with a flat roof in the yard, which housed the well pump so we called it the pump house. The trees hung low over it so we used the roof like a tree house, it was great. I still want a tree house.
Avatar 10:28am Linda Lee:

wow!!! the DeZurik sisters were fabulous!!
  10:28am shabs:

This show is amazing! My husband and I listen every Saturday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am melinda:

I didn't mean to repeat myself in that last comment. I guess I really want a tree house.
  10:29am JakeGould:

@Amanda: Well, when it’s warm I can’t give them apples for nothing. They push it away. Yesterday I cut up a crappy apple at work and tossed it into Union Square Park and man… Them and the starlings were going nuts.
  10:30am yippie:

IM just a yodeling yippie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am Sean d:

@melinda I had awesome tree house with a zip line off the roof
Avatar 10:30am Linda Lee:

melinda, 'til you have your own, you might stay at a tree house b & b! they're much fancier than a typical tree house, but they're also meant for spoiled adults.
  10:31am JakeGould:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am adampsyche:

fun fact, on the trams on the concourse at the zurich airport, they play the heidi song constantly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am Amanda:

Thanks so much for checking in @shabs! We love new listeners almost as much as old listeners!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am Mike East:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am melinda:

@Linda excellent idea! I've seen some cool ones in North Carolina, I'm sure there are more elsewhere.
@sean we had a zipline between two trees but it wasn't taught enough and so kind of disappointing.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am kuba:

i just realized that this show is this rare kind of entertainment which is kids-first & kids-friendly, but also very engaging, entertaining and interesting to me (an adult-ish person), while it has all the benefits of kids-centricity (humor, chipperness, eclecticity etc.).
oof i sound like a serious adult. what i meant to say is: i love this show
Avatar 10:36am Linda Lee:

there's definiitely a nice one not far from here, with bonus outdoor kitchen. a rural lady i know likes to stay there. she rents out her own home to city folks :-)

I had a friend who worked at a restaurant in Vermont in the 70s not far from the Von Trapp family lodge, said Maria was an unpleasant person.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am Amanda:

Wow, @kuba, that is such a lovely thing to say. We appreciate that so much!
  10:41am JakeGould:

@melinda: Yeah. “The Sound of Music” is a nice story of survival, but the real players behind the scene always came off as nasty to me.
Avatar 10:41am Linda Lee:

in that 'yodel talk' piece she seems about as warm as an ice jam.

  10:45am LCBD:

Hi Linda Lee!! Nice to see you, my old friend!
  10:45am JakeGould:

Avatar 10:47am Linda Lee:

agree, Jake. lack of communication is a real issue in fairy tales. more precisely, alienation! i'm guessing that's why they appeal to kids.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am Greg from ZONE 5:

Morning, Roger & Amanda & all!
  10:48am JakeGould:

Why are the three little pigs living in separate dwellings when one large home made of straw, wood and bricks would clearly be unstoppable?
