Avatar 5:12pm Jherweg:

Hey everybody!!
Avatar 5:13pm TDK60:

Jonathan, looks like you'll be busy this Yuletide. Hope you get some sleep shifts in between!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm chresti:

Hello! I'm very blurry
Avatar 5:17pm Jherweg:

Yes I might have bitten off more than I can chew to be honest, 12 hours of radio in more than a week .
Avatar 5:20pm TDK60:

jherweg: Luckily, there's a large music library situated right near you! // Hi fleep & chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm chresti:

Hi TDK60!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm fleep:

Hey ho TDK60!
Avatar 5:26pm TDK60:

I toast an evening egg
nog to you all; even if where chresti is, it's still early afternoon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm chresti:

Cheers to you, too! I raise my cup of broth, to all, as well
  5:33pm fuccboi:

S'up mah niqqahs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm chresti:

All sounds good and beyond expectation, Jonathan!
  5:33pm Doobois:

Keep knocking back the eggnog and you’ll be fine.
Avatar 5:33pm TDK60:

If you run out of ideas (which I really think you won't!) I could make a lot of requests. hehheh.
  5:35pm Joe Mulligan:

Good picks for your 2018 faves, all sound great and most are new to me which I like. Thanks for sharing Mr Herwig!
Avatar 5:44pm TDK60:

Gosh, I'm too old and low income to keep up with the latest (why I listen to WFMU.) I got Interpol's newest from the library, a bit so-so. War On Drugs' latest too but that's from '17. Never mind...
Avatar 5:47pm Jherweg:

This year I didn’t feel so in the loop music wise ..
Avatar 5:51pm khd:

hi jonathan - thanks for doing the fill-ins this week. the only 2018 release i think i could recommend to you is Sushi Jugend's cassette release on LalLalLal. mb u heard it already. i first listened on Nick and Stan's shows: wfmu.org... side B is killer...
Avatar 5:52pm JakeGould:

Hello Jonathan!!!
Avatar 5:55pm JakeGould:

I think you can do all the slots you have, but will say I am definitely concerned about the morning of Christmas and then a night shift at midnight. That seems tough!
Avatar 6:00pm Jherweg:

I’m glad you have faith Jake!
Avatar 6:01pm TDK60:

I like that new Marissa Nadler album -'For My Crimes' and Ned Collette 'Old Chestnut' album, melancholic folk to cheer me up.
  6:06pm P-90:

Happy Happy, Jherweg. And thanks for Samantha-Subbing.
  6:07pm katharsis:

Hellos. Thank you. Here. Listening.
Avatar 6:17pm JakeGould:

Yeah, thanks for being submissive to Samantha, Jonathan.
Avatar 6:22pm Jherweg:

A Boy and His Dog - post apocalyptic fun from Harlan Ellison
Avatar 6:38pm TDK60:

Chinese food and a movie sounds great, after skipping down a street. / Didn't '12 Monkeys' have an empty city scene?
Avatar 6:38pm JakeGould:

Of all the things I like about WFMU I like the holiday spirit!
  6:39pm larry of lackawack:

Avatar 6:40pm JakeGould:

“Eyes Wide Shut”
“A Boy and His Dog”
“I am Legend”
“Omega Man”
And tons of early sci-fi TV shows that had no budget so they always filmed in “empty” areas. Like “Outer Limits” episodes or any “Star Trek” episode where they are on an Earth-like planet.
Avatar 6:42pm JakeGould:

“Captain, there appears to be no signs of life… Other than the 5 actors we got to be in the Western town set that Paramount gave us for free.”
  6:45pm Mandy:

as much as I enjoy my family, I'd love to get the chance to celebrate Christmas in a different way just once.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I lost track ... is the Mandarin duck still about?
Avatar 6:48pm JakeGould:

@Ken: Yes! Jonathan should look at the duck.
Avatar 6:50pm Jherweg:

Maybe Nom Wah Tea Parlor?
Avatar 6:56pm TDK60:

Mandarin Duck, a place on Canal St?
  7:00pm Bruce S.:

Hi to Jonathan & all- Best wishes for a Merry & Happy Everything- J. H. I have listened to many of your shows and appearances on FMU. Your musical curation is masterful- What i love about it is that so much of it relates to our origins, time & space and the universe(s). so by default it also asks where we are going? Thanks and My Best Always
Avatar 7:09pm KenW:

WOWOWOWOWOWOW! I'm been really really wanting to hear this recording of MG, THANKS Brother!!!!!!
Avatar 7:09pm JakeGould:

@Jonathan: Just a suggestion for the 26th show: Spoken word about the holidays if possible. If not, whatever!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm melinda:

Avatar 7:14pm JakeGould:

Happy Melinda!
  7:15pm Kafuka:

Hi Jon, I’m listening at you before sleeping. It’s, as usual, a great show.
  7:16pm chris kepford:

Herwig should have his own show !!!! Love this
Avatar 7:16pm KenW:

An absolutely TREMENDOUS Milford Graves cameo in Matthew Barney's epic 8 hour film River of Fundament, Milford appears in Reel 2. Milford is birthed from a rotting cow carcass in the bowels of the Brooklyn flat belonging to Norman Mailer, in fact, Milford the second incarnation of Norman Mailer, and this may sound 'pretentious', but I swear, it was sublime and beyond powerful cinema.
  7:17pm chris kepford:

I look forward to your next three fill ins!!!
Avatar 7:17pm KenW:

I second that Chris, Blurred and ObscurrRRRred FOREVER!!!!
Avatar 7:19pm Jherweg:

Everyone should see "The Full Mantis" its fantastic!!
Avatar 7:20pm KenW:

Will do!
Avatar 7:23pm JakeGould:

Co-worker gave me a bottle of berry wine for the holidays. Damned good stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm Ike:

Sounding good! I'm ripping boring CDs from my parents' collection onto gigantic thumb drives for them for X-mess (since cars apparently don't come with CD players anymore).
  7:26pm Gary:

Hi Jon. Did you see the Milford Graves exhibit now on view at the Queens Museum? It's wonderful.
Avatar 7:27pm Jherweg:

No Gary it's on my list!
Avatar 7:27pm khd:

this roy montgomery track is really good
Avatar 7:28pm Jherweg:

Ike I want that password for unlimited free audio books from you for Xmas, STOP HOLDING OUT ON ME!!!
Avatar 7:29pm JakeGould:

@Jherweg: Have you heard the good news? About podcasts? Everyone has one and everyone should rate them.
  7:30pm Booz:

I adore that Haley Fohr track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm ieeek:

LOLOLOLOL! Jeffy B. and Don K. would lock me up so deep in their bad-employee dungeon underneath the Newark Light Rail that I'd never get out. They only feed the prisoners expired snacks from the snack bar and leftover cleansing juices from the Monday juice bar under there. The horror!
Avatar 7:32pm Jherweg:

It wins my track of the year award! I listened to it more than any other song.
  7:33pm katharsis:

Just lovely. Thank you
Avatar 7:34pm Jherweg:

You just like to torture me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm common:

Hard to think. This is great. Thank you jonathan
Avatar 7:42pm Jherweg:

I always have a hard time thinking myself. I'm starving!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Ike:

I know it's puerile, but the metadata in some of the Pavarotti MP3s for my mom will list him as "That Fat Bastard Pavarotti." I just don't like that guy. He's rather dramatic.
Avatar 7:47pm khd:

great show, thank u
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm chresti:

This is great, thanks!
Avatar 7:50pm david_:

Hi JH and all

Avatar 7:51pm TDK60:

..yes, ear catching sounds, a feast, a meditation. A toast to you DJ and the other ears around...
Avatar 7:53pm david_:

Lucky Aitch, it is freezing here
Avatar 7:54pm JakeGould:

It’s horrible. It’s winter. It happens at the same time each year and nobody does anything about it.
Avatar 7:54pm KenW:

Fantastic show Jonathan, THANKS!!!!
Avatar 7:58pm david_:

Somebody ought to pass a law, or at least form a committee
Avatar 7:58pm david_:

Yes thank you Jonathan
  7:58pm Eric from Lake Hiawatha:
