Greets, the indefatigable Mary Ding! Wing, the 100%, and whomever decides it's time to get on the Farther bus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Carmichael:

Heya Mary and Sem. Looking to hear something good today!
  12:07pm Mark R:

Aw, and here I thought maybe I'd be the first commenter today! Hi, Mary, sounding great so far!
Avatar 12:08pm βrian:

One more of the Wing's ailerons here. Good afternoon.
  12:09pm Mark R:

"Lullabies for Insomniacs" would have been a good name for your midnight show. Or even better, for my 3 am show.
Avatar 12:11pm Mary Wing:

Hello Sem, Carmichael, Mark, and Brian! Time for Muuuuuuuuusic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Phillippe Bastille:

Hi everyone
Avatar 12:15pm Mary Wing:

Salut, Phillippe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Afternoon, Mary and the 100 Percentient.
Avatar 12:24pm Mary Wing:

Hi Ken! How was everybody's Thanksgiving?
Avatar 12:26pm βrian:

Ours was small and quiet. The highlight was changing the resin in the water softener. Boy howdy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Stanley:

I'm going to take this Acid Mothers Temple business live in a week or so. Yay!
  12:27pm Mark R:

Small but nice group. My brother and his wife drove in all the way from northern Michigan. Had a nice visit, took 'em to look at the windows in the city (which except for Bendels I found VERY disappointing btw).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Full of turkey, pie and whatever.
Avatar 12:28pm βrian:

Windows? That's a thing?
  12:28pm Mark R:

I notice it's been a while since I've heard a new Acid Mothers album. These guys used to be good for 2-4 albums a year. What gives.
  12:29pm Mark R:

Well, all the stores on Fifth Avenue used to do these really extravagant windows for Christmas, but this years' seemed a little half-assed, except as I said, Henri Bendel's, which are always extraordinary.
Avatar 12:30pm Mary Wing:

Discogs says they've put out 9 releases this year, Mark!
Avatar 12:31pm βrian:

@Mark R: Maybe it has to do with the collective ennui.
  12:33pm Mark R:

Ha shows what I know! I'm a little out of touch lately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm Carmichael:

Mine was quiet and full/filling. Girls home from school, no other family members. Drink, food, football. Not in that order.
  12:34pm Mark R:

They must just record every time they get together and jam. Really digging the trippy vibe today, Mary.
  12:35pm Mark R:

Mary, if I may ask, is Ken ever coming back, or is this just an extended hiatus, or do you not even know?
  12:36pm Mark R:

Just between you me and the lamppost, I prefer having you twice.
Avatar 12:38pm Mary Wing:

Kenzo should be back next week, unless he eats those poisoned chocolates I sent him...
  12:44pm Mark R:

Always nice to hear an old favorite amongst the unfamiliar and new. Sort of like running into an old friend at a party.
  12:46pm Mark R:

And yes, the wind is indeed wild today in North Jersey. Very bitter!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm ɛɨk:

Hi! My folks were bored with turkey and stuffing and that whole bit, so we went out to Elmhurst, Queens, for Thai food instead. It was great. Best Thanksgiving in a while.
Avatar 12:47pm Mary Wing:

Hiya Ike, that sounds like my kind of Thanksgiving!
Avatar 12:55pm βrian:

The only really good Thai restaurant in our area is takeout-only, sadly.
Avatar 1:00pm david w:

I'm getting Whatereverrified! Hi Mary and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm chresti:

  1:11pm rw:

Morning! What do you mean even if you don’t like Bob Dylan?
Avatar 1:13pm Mary Wing:

Hey there David, Chresti, and rw! Some folks don't like Zimmerman, what can I say?
  1:27pm Mark R:

This version of the Heads was SO funky and cool. I'm very, very sorry I never saw them, in any incarnation. Goddammit! What the fuck was I doing?
  1:29pm rw:

Weird. Driving. Can’t really talk. Enjoying the show! Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm ɛɨk:

Mark, don't be too hard on yourself -- maybe there was a really great episode of Manimal on that night? LOL.
Avatar 1:29pm Mary Wing:

Yeah, but we'll always have the Stop Making Sense DVD, Mark...
Avatar 1:33pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Actually this is a convoluted plot for me to take over Mary's noon show, muahaha
Avatar 1:35pm Mary Wing:

Heh heh heh. Just try to, pal...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Carmichael:

I just saw Byrne on this recent tour. Sensational show, as you might expect.
Avatar 1:43pm βrian:

The one time I saw Byrne, he was kinda upstaged by Margareth Menezes.
  1:43pm Mark R:

Boy this sure sounds like "Venus in Furs" so far...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Rich in Washington:

I love this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Carmichael:

Byrne seems to me to be a little socially uncomfortable onstage when he is interacting with the audience between songs, etc .. He could probably be upstaged by anyone with a more dynamic personality.
  1:47pm Mark R:

Carmichael, I wouldn't be surprised to discover he's a little bit on the spectrum. But it's part of what makes him unique and great, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Rich in Washington:

OMG. Mark R! I was just about to type the same thing!
  1:48pm Mark R:

Jinx buy me a Coke!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Rich in Washington:

HA! Consider yourself coked (oh, wait. That doesn't sound too good..)
  1:50pm Mark R:

No, man, it sounds great. But I'd probably have a heart attack at this point.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm chresti:

I think most interesting people are a little bit on the spectrum
  1:57pm Mark R:

Very much love the title of this album. As well as the sound--loved the Ben Neill track mucho also.

Avatar 2:07pm Mary Wing:

What's the correct name of the > symbol??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm chresti:

greater than sign
Avatar 2:10pm Mary Wing:

Oh duh, of course! I would like to call it the beak symbol from now on, however.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Carmichael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm chresti:

It does look like a beak after all
Avatar 2:16pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar 2:18pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Whoa # is called octothorpe? Life changing
Avatar 2:20pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Carmichael:

^ is called circumflex.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm chresti:

yeah, I saw that, octothorpe!
Avatar 2:21pm Mary Wing:

Heh, I prefer octothorpe to hashtag, frankly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Carmichael:

So instead of saying "hashtag ...", you say ....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm chresti:

I know circumflex from studying French
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm chresti:

/ has always been a slash to me
Avatar 2:23pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm maestroso:

Sounds best in Swedish.
  2:24pm Tamar:

Loving all these versions of Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth! I didn't even know that anyone covered it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm chresti:

a real whack job
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm chresti:

octothorpe sounds like a living creature
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

I mean, who knew that so many people have even covered Sparks songs at all??!?!?! I didn't!
Avatar 2:26pm Mary Wing:

Me neither, Tamar! Such a surprise!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm chresti:

one of my favorite Sparks songs is "Throw it away and Buy a New One"
Avatar 2:29pm Mary Wing:

Sparks evidently has many many fans, Granny!
Avatar 2:32pm david_:

oooh love this Bjork track! Hi Mary and all!
Avatar 2:33pm Mary Wing:

Hiya David, glad you made it in time for Bjork>!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm chresti:

Thanks Mary, have to go to work for a bit...
Avatar 2:37pm david_:

Knowing Sparks they found a way to time travel into the future to give someone their song to cover
Avatar 2:37pm david_:

Sparks are in an episode of Gilmore Girls
Avatar 2:40pm Mary Wing:

I first read that as "Golden Girls" and spit out my water, heh.
Avatar 2:44pm david_:

Now _that_ would have been amazing. Sounds like a Wurster bit!
Avatar 2:44pm david_:

"it only aired once"
Avatar 2:49pm βrian:

Uumlauts give me diaeresis.
Avatar 2:58pm βrian:

Thanks, Mary.
