Avatar 12:44pm Tony Coulter:

@ Granny Spicy Tuna: Trump -- so fond of trans fats, so narrow-minded about trans people.
Avatar 12:50pm Tony Coulter:

Don't have the scientific proof to back this up, but it seems like a much higher percent of Dutch '60s & '70s rock featured English-language lyrics than was the case in, say, France or Italy.
Avatar 12:50pm Tony Coulter:

Wonder why....
  12:53pm ?:

The Dutch in Amsterdam spoke much better English than the French or Italians in that period. Only the Germans were close. The Amsterdamers are still famously multilingual. But the coolness of the internet has greatly increased in English speaking in the other two countries.
Avatar 12:53pm holland oats:

greetings from holland
Avatar 12:54pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks, ? ! That makes a lot of sense.
  12:54pm Michael Pollak:

Avatar 1:10pm Tony Coulter:

Argh. Sorry again for my noisy mic cable!
Avatar 1:12pm Tony Coulter:

@ Granny Spicy Tuna: Most likely, yes. After all, their third album is called "Pudding and Gisteren." Guess they had a thing for pudding.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm steveo:

mmm, pudding
Avatar 1:17pm northguineahills:

Everyone loves bands named after avestani zoroastrian scriptures....
Avatar 1:26pm Tony Coulter:

I know Dutch is supposed to be the closet language to English -- but I have to say it sure doesn't sound too similar.
Avatar 1:28pm Tony Coulter:

YAY! THREE BIG CHEERS for Stephen A of Silver Spring, Maryland, for his super-generous pledge!!
Avatar 1:29pm Tony Coulter:

Silver Spring, home of Wayside Music
  1:36pm Mark R:

A VERY trippy set indeed, sir. Sounds like what would be playing in a club when Mannix came in looking for some runaway.
Avatar 1:37pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, Mark! That Mannix -- always spoiling the fun.
Avatar 1:37pm Nick S.:

Earth and Fire!
  1:37pm spa:

Thanks for the hello, Tony. And yes Steve Feigenbaum, chief of Wayside Music and Cuneiform, lives near my area. A nicer person would be hard to find. Guess it's something about music lovers!
  1:38pm Mark R:

This must've been before Wind joined and launched them into superstardom.
Avatar 1:38pm βrian:

Dutch sounds like gravel in a clothes dryer to me.
Avatar 1:39pm Tony Coulter:

βrian! Hola hey hello!
  1:39pm Mark R:

Does RE: mean it's a reissue?
Avatar 1:40pm Tony Coulter:

Avatar 1:40pm Tony Coulter:

Avatar 1:43pm northguineahills:

where did Wind go?
Avatar 1:44pm Tony Coulter:

Hope you all caught the Soft Machine namecheck just then!
Avatar 1:46pm Tony Coulter:

@ northguineahills: Wind was Fired. He was too Earthy for the rest of the group. Or, you could say he broke free.
Avatar 1:50pm Tony Coulter:

Double argh. I'll have my damn mic cable issue fixed by the next show -- I promise!
Avatar 1:55pm βrian:

And he was just too wound up.

Does "ham-fisted" mean trotters?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm steveo:

Tony, I imagined something sexy, too ,but the dictionary says an appleknocker is just a farm-laborer.
