	♥ 10:28pm melinda: The Southwest is like that, some people hostile to weirdness and others quite welcoming. I last visited AZ-NM in the mid-late 80s, would love to revisit.
	♥ 10:33pm Franco Twinkie: Oh my! I forgot. In 1974 a friend and I were driving across in '67 Falcon with Michigan plates. I got pulled over by a state trooper outside Flagstaff. He gave me a choice: Follow him to the police station or ride in the back of the patrol and go straight to jail. I followed. The police station was a log cabin with a great collection of home made weapons they had confiscated mounted on a green pegboard. It was worth paying the speeding ticket just to see their colletion of zip guns and homemade shivs.

	♥ 10:57pm Franco Twinkie: Coel, dig this: A friend and I drove all the pieces of the set of a Taco Bell commercial to Tucson to be reconstructed in the middle of the desert. Some place along the way he called The Club Congress where he was playing that night. They told him he was going on earlier than he was scheduled. We were still about a hundred miles away. He drove the truck 90mph all the way, jumped out of the truck and ran onto the stage and started playing the guitar.

	🥁 ♥ 11:06pm northguineahills: due to random circumstances, I once saw Steve Coleman play a gig at Tonic, as soon as he was done, I picked up my flight case to go dj a few blocks away. To my surprise, he was scheduled to dj after me. He played a lot groovy Euro library groove music, jazz fusion, and even some acid jazz/house.
	♥ 11:08pm Sam Segal: Wow! Had no idea Steve Coleman did DJ sets...someone needs to book him some club gigs in NYC ASAP.
	🥁 ♥ 11:14pm northguineahills: I later found out, my friend who booked shows at Tonic also did nights at the same bar/club I was at (well, he booked me), He just had a bunch of records, and just played what he liked, and he brought most of the other musicians (read half the audience of Tonic) over, so it was an appreciative audience. I remember him walking in when I was playing Riley/Cale's "Church of Anthrax", he complimented it, and I blushed.

	♥ 10:57pm Franco Twinkie: Coel, dig this: A friend and I drove all the pieces of the set of a Taco Bell commercial to Tucson to be reconstructed in the middle of the desert. Some place along the way he called The Club Congress where he was playing that night. They told him he was going on earlier than he was scheduled. We were still about a hundred miles away. He drove the truck 90mph all the way, jumped out of the truck and ran onto the stage and started playing the guitar.

	🥁 ♥ 11:06pm northguineahills: due to random circumstances, I once saw Steve Coleman play a gig at Tonic, as soon as he was done, I picked up my flight case to go dj a few blocks away. To my surprise, he was scheduled to dj after me. He played a lot groovy Euro library groove music, jazz fusion, and even some acid jazz/house.

	🥁 ♥ 11:14pm northguineahills: I later found out, my friend who booked shows at Tonic also did nights at the same bar/club I was at (well, he booked me), He just had a bunch of records, and just played what he liked, and he brought most of the other musicians (read half the audience of Tonic) over, so it was an appreciative audience. I remember him walking in when I was playing Riley/Cale's "Church of Anthrax", he complimented it, and I blushed.
