"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Avatar 9:26am Polyus:

So many years ago I saw Lubricated Goat in a tiny, poorly-ventilated club in San Francisco. Stuart was setting his hair on fire and putting it out over and over again, and pretty soon the entire room was permeated by the stench. Later that night I came down with a brutal respiratory bug that knocked me out for a few days. Moral of the story: burning junkie hair will really mess you up.

I feel similarly about missing Damon Edge.

Would be fantastic if that was the actual artwork for the fiorino/haas track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am steveo:

Good morning. Great show. I played the moon gong in a community Nakatani gong orchestra. I don’t play an instrument. It was fun. He is a patient and wonderful person.

Avatar 10:56am Chris from DC:

@karen, I know a few people who said the gong orchestra was quite a workout with all the bowing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am tim from champaign:

@Karen - how cool! I've seen Nakatani a few times and saw the community orchestra once. I want to do that someday.

Hey that's definitely Daniel Knox, but it's not the hilarious novelty hit _I Make Enemies_... wrong title on the playlist?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am Crudbringer:

...mashed potatahs... thx JA
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am Crudbringer:

(and I said "hilarious novelty" but it's actually "heartbreakingly honest")
  11:08am Mr. Palchepo.:

Thank you for this. I’ve been needing a national anthem to play at inappropriate times.
  11:10am karen eliot:

@Chris and Tim Yes, it was very strenuous! It was not easy. The moon was a huge gong. I played Pluto the second part. 12/20/2013 I say do it if you have a chance. Incredible experience.
  11:12am karen eliot:

Too funny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am tim from champaign:

My kind of gospel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am steveo:

i don't know what's going on but the commenters and the on air musicians are both talking about pluto and the moon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14am peapod ross:

I absolutely loved that. 10 clicky stars worth!
Avatar 11:22am Polyus:

This has all been very much in line with the chilly, cloudy morning where I am. Hard not to just kind of stare blankly out the window.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am melinda:

@Polyus same here
