it's a classic
Avatar 10:13pm Little Danny:

Roberta's version blew me away , though I guess the McCann/Harris will always be definitive
Avatar 10:14pm Kris Holmes:

Avatar 10:25pm Little Danny:

Shirley Scott on the B3 on "Tia Juana"
Avatar 10:28pm Kris Holmes:

oh, i love Shirley Scott!! no wonder that got my ears
Avatar 10:28pm TDK60:

jazz 7"s -unusual, to me at least.
Avatar 10:29pm Kris Holmes:

traditionally the least popular collectors choice of jazz formats :(
Avatar 10:50pm Little Danny:

I have more jazz 45s than R&B + soul 45s combined
Avatar 10:51pm Kris Holmes:

dang but i'd believe it, you are pretty jazzy!
Avatar 10:52pm Little Danny:

you flatter me
Avatar 10:52pm Kris Holmes:

buuuuuttttt, how much overlap is there in the jazz/exotica venn diagram?
Avatar 10:53pm Little Danny:

oh a LOT, but jazz exotica 45s go in a different long box ya know
Avatar 10:59pm Little Danny:

Diggin' the country-soul-rock vibe! That version of "Put It..." was instrumentally almost indistinguishable from the Crusaders' original
Avatar 11:04pm Little Danny:

I want the lost Dragon cowboy-baiting tape
Avatar 11:06pm Kris Holmes:

i wish there was footage!!!
  11:18pm Dean:

Just picked up the Stones in LA '75, which opens with HTW. Ron Wood's first tour with them. It's not half bad!
Avatar 11:19pm Little Danny:

loved the tough licks on Cody
Avatar 11:19pm northguineahills:

Finally, laptop allows me to check in!
Avatar 11:23pm Kris Holmes:

Nice, that darn laptop!! Isn't it always ornery?
Avatar 11:39pm northguineahills:

It is 7 years old and onery, time to take out the garbage/recycling!

Avatar 11:47pm Kris Holmes:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm JtotheK:

enjoying all the tunes tonight - thanks kris! cheers everyone.
Avatar 11:51pm Little Danny:

great show Kris
Avatar 11:54pm Kris Holmes:

Hardly any soul, super weird for me, no R&B either!!!
  11:54pm Dean:

I've seen Los Lobos precisely once, when they opened for Public Image Ltd. at the Olympic Auditorium (a boxing arena) in Los Angeles. However, when I worked at a public library in the east end of LA County, I saw David Hidalgo there with his kids. What a band.
Avatar 11:55pm Kris Holmes:

i'm really looking forward to it
  11:58pm Dean:

They were terrific, and courageous. As I recall, they wore the garb of mariachis. I don't think they went over well with the PIL crowd. (Kipper Kids also appeared, as I recall, so there's that.)
Avatar 11:59pm Kris Holmes:

that sounds epic
