I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Long time, no blended marbles. Hulllllooooo, Bryce, and brycelettes.

Welcome BACK!!! huzzah!
  12:06pm Mark Williams:

I thought for sure you'd start with Iron Maiden's "Prodigal Son".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm George of Troy:

BRYYYYCE!!! Welcome back!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm Bryce:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm steveo:

good to hear ya
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm sphere:

hey bryce!
  12:13pm mic_test:

Finally, fresh marbles! Perfect return tracks here. I've been hiding out in the 2004 archives all summer (and recommend August 8 as an extra good set).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I've experienced all the stages of Brycelessness this summer: dry ears, the shakes, marble buildup, etc. Nice to have you back, old chum!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Bryce:

lovely to see everyone! still running around, grabbing tunes, but i'll be back in a bit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Bryce:

speaking of marbles &c., the t-shirts are in! the screen printer did an amazing job.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm ɨkɛ:

John Allen had the gall to suggest you'd be 20 minutes late today, Bryce. Where on Earth did he get such an outre idea? Throw marbles at him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm chris:

hi, Bryce and folks!

Bryce is back! the t-shirts are in! its payday Friday! wooooooooooowwww! overload of joy.
  12:22pm Tony:

I was reading about the diplomats in Cuba and China who have been getting sick after hearing strange sounds. One person described the sounds as something like marbles rolling around a metal funnel. I was wondering if someone had piped in Bryce's show to the embassies?
  12:22pm Dan_In_Baltimore:

I was so sad when you took the summer off - yeah B is back!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm steveo:

@tony, if they'd piped in Bryce, that would have made them sounder not sicker
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Bryce:

i was painting all the shirts with a single gerbil eyelash
Avatar 12:28pm Chris from DC:

Yay, Bryce!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Carmichael:

Heya Brycey Boy! Good to see your bug-eyed avatar again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Booz:

How are those poor gerbils supposed to look on fleek w/o lashes?
  12:35pm Tony:

Good point Steveo. Reminds me of another story from the recent news about how authorities in Berlin are going to start playing atonal music in subway stations to discourage loitering. That could have the opposite effect on me.
  12:38pm poor lost soul:

i think the first thing BRYCE should say when hes on mic is "BOOOOGARRRR" like Dr Johnny Fever on WKRP
Avatar 12:42pm Listening Out There:

Hey Bryce Welcome back
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Bryce:

hello!!!
Avatar 12:55pm ranjit:

I've heard a lot about Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith but I think this is the first time I've heard much of her music. Turns out it's good!
Avatar 12:56pm Chris from DC:

Ranjit, grab the record she did with Suzanne Ciani, it's amazing.
Avatar 12:56pm coelacanth∅:

by the way if it'll speed up the t-shirts a bit i have a burned-out '61 studebaker lark full of gerbil eyelashes, all separated and cleaned; no mascara.
i've used what i needed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm Joe D.:

well well well
Avatar 12:59pm ranjit:

Thanks, Chris - i will!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Bryce:

i didn't do anything, mister d, i swear
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Bryce:

yeah, that "sunergy" cd is SO beautiful....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Booz:

Hearing a warbly swerve toward People Like Us in this Smith.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Passaic River Blues:

@Chris and Ranjit: Chris is so right on this one. I actually won the Ciani/Smith "Sunergy" album as a prize during the 2017 WFMU marathon and have listened to it no less than 30 times in the year since. It's gorgeous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Booz:

The Harry Smith connection accounts for that I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm bit rot:

brycicle! I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to have you back!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Booz:

Sunergy is vast.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm steveo:

how can i clicky-star this set break?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm joe mulligan:

here we are again, good stuff! fridays back to "not normal" again. welcome back Bryce! hope you get that scream cough taken care of
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Mister Dobalina:

Wholly guacamole, I was just asking about the Bryce show yesterday on someone else's show, they said Bryce was on the schedule, and now I tune in and look who is on and speaking! Happy birthdays do come true.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Crudbringer:

<shivers>brrrrrr…

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Crudbringer:

come on come on... somebody say DANG, THAT WAS COLD!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Crudbringer:

Also hey Bryce, glad you're back, I really dig all the weird sounding shit you play.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Booz:

I second @steveo. Click. Click.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm blee:

Solid return Bryce. I can hear in your track selections that you are wearing your pro wrestling championship belt, and it's been detailed recently. Sounds all powerful, too.
  1:22pm mic_test:

Good interview with Catherine Christer Hennix in Blank Forms Journal #2.
Avatar 1:24pm coelacanth∅:

this track is in one of my bedtime playlists. i'm on lunch break and am falling asleep.
Avatar 1:25pm coelacanth∅:

...not really; but it is very sedating to me.
Avatar 1:27pm βrian:

Sedating? I wanna be sedated!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Bryce:

my goal is to overthrow late-stage capitalism by boring the workforce to sleep during lunch
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm jmr3:

I just got that Sunergy disc from the library. Kept it on repeat for quite a while. Really dig it. I also got Ciani's Seven Waves. That one's ... uhhh.... completely different.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm sphere:

Huh? What? Did you say something, Bryce?
Avatar 1:34pm coelacanth∅:

i guess it would bore "the masses". gotta get our hands on that haarp device and cover the planet with it.
those of us that don't get bored win. (not sure what we win though)

  1:37pm ms_a:

:)
  1:40pm nic:

love this!!! so happy you're back!!!
Avatar 1:40pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Joe Jones sounds a lot like King Crimson noodling. By the way just ordered Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffitti for my 14 year old. He also got a free King Crimson Court of the Crimson King recently as I got a duplicate from a coworker's father who also likes The Sopranos like I do. My 14 year old is going through his Led Zeppelin phase.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm rsj:

so effective when listened to on a lunch coma
Avatar 1:46pm coelacanth∅:

led zeppelin was my favorite band when i was 12. when physical graffiti came out i excitedly bought it with probably all of my savings. i was quite disappointed upon listening.
pink floyd instantly moved into favorite band position.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm sphere:

I had a Chicago (the band) phase. Let's not talk about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm blee:

Loving this Joe Jones composition.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm sphere:

It is great.
Avatar 1:59pm Chris from DC:

Preclickied set so far.
Avatar 2:00pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

The Pre-Clickied Marimba.

..and it was.
Avatar 2:00pm greenlight:

this is cool
Avatar 2:00pm βrian:

Rick Wakeman for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm steveo:

cool, Neil. i didn't know kids still had zeppelin phases
  2:01pm telewanker:

Damn, I have never listened to this show and now I'm questioning this along with all my other life choices
Avatar 2:02pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

gave up on "life choices" ages ago.

recommended.
Avatar 2:03pm βrian:

@telewanker: Oh just you wait until Bryce gets into one of his "tough love" moods.
  2:04pm Tony:

Isn't Yreka the town with the famous sign that shows one way leading to College and the other way going to Weed?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Passaic River Blues:

@Brian: hahahaha When Bryce goes full-on Tiger Mom, watch out.
Avatar 2:06pm coelacanth∅:

i had many phases. steppenwolf; jethro tull; doors... (the beatles and the 'stones couldn't be called phases)
this all before i discovered a world beyond wplj.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm sphere:

the Saint Pelvyn is on Bandcamp. you're welcome.
  2:10pm telewanker:

Sad to say I had a Yes phase.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Carmichael:

Yreka is the town with the bakery. And nothing else.
Avatar 2:10pm coelacanth∅:

sphere i maintain that chicago transit authority was good for at least 1 album and maybe 2 or 3.
steveo i live in a college town and i can attest to some people having led zeppelin phases pretty late in life (for a led zeppelin phase)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Carmichael:

ELP, dudes.
Avatar 2:11pm coelacanth∅:

βrian @2.03 Haha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm steveo:

sideways fall is a very good title for this fantastic piece
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Booz:

Thx for Bandcamp confirmation @sphere!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm sphere:

No prob. :)
  2:15pm karen eliot:

Hello! Glad you are back!
Avatar 2:16pm coelacanth∅:

i'm not ashamed of any of my phases; and most of them turned out to be "not-phases". i still like yes and steppenwolf -occasionally elp, etc etc. i am selective though, as i was then. most bands started sucking at some point.

...okay, boston was a phase. and i'm not not ashamed of it. BUT IT WAS JUST A 1-ALBUM-LONG PHASE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Booz:

FWIW, JA&NIS's Simultaneity is on Bandcamp too.
Avatar 2:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Also an ELP survivor, here. Feeling much better now.
In my defense, I was quite young.
& had moved on to far more groovy things by 11....
Avatar 2:17pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Also: this here is some fab audio slab.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm steveo:

i'm slightly ashamed of my styx phase but i was pretty young so cut me some slack
Avatar 2:17pm coelacanth∅:

(and i do still pull out led zeppelin II & III every now & then)
  2:17pm Chi Bill:

Enjoyed John Saint Pelvyn, Bryce. Love the comments, I too rarely listen to this show but I'll make it my life choice phase to try. Rediscovered Phys Graffitti 10 years ago, it's pretty good. And Hey, Chicago's 1st album ain't bad but I'm glad to have FMU and let the commercial stations play the top 40.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm sphere:

thanks Booz :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Booz:

There's almost no past phase I won't revisit occasionally, not out of nostalgia, but because I like to see how different they sound to current me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Carmichael:

Which Zep album did Damone from Fast Times say would get the chicks all hot?
Avatar 2:20pm coelacanth∅:

at the time i tried hard to like physical graffiti. i decided that the good songs would fill a little less than one record.
i've had no desire to put that album on in decades though.
Avatar 2:21pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@steveo: first record I ever bought with my own money was the Styx single LADY b/w CHILDREN OF THE LAND .. i was around 7 when it came out and clearly was in need of some hard living at that point...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm chris:

i can't believe i need to leave early! aiiiighhhh!

oh well, thanks, Bryce. much love. see y'all later.
Avatar 2:23pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

actually, no. Carbon-dating reveals i had to be 5 when i bought that dreadful thing. jeezus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm steveo:

5!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Bryce:

seeya, chris! thanks for dropping in!
Avatar 2:25pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

needed father's help to get through the transaction, which took place at the Waxie Maxies in Greenbelt, MD.

No idea how I can remember that, yet forget my ATM pin number.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm sphere:

@ Carmichael - Fast Times says that you must play side 1 of Led Zeppelin IV before you make out (or that's what the internet said).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm sphere:

Waxie Maxies! Haven't heard that name in eons.
  2:27pm adrian in mpls:

Happy to have your show back on the air, Bryce!
Avatar 2:27pm coelacanth∅:

first album i bought was a yard sale beatles album when i was 5-6. first new album i bought, i think, was "it ain't easy" (three dog night) i think at age 8.
i still like that album.
  2:29pm Marc15:

Welcome back, Bryce!
Avatar 2:31pm coelacanth∅:

ugh. that side has stairway to heaven on it. -and "rock and roll".
- i don't need to make out with anyone that badly!

(side 2 is much better)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Mick:

@sphere @Carmichael - as i recall, Damone insists that he play Zep IV (i thought it was side 2), but then we cut to them listening to Physical Graffiti in the car on their date. Maybe that's why the date didn't go as planned...
Avatar 2:35pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

SOIKEL.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm sphere:

When the Levee Breaks would make pretty good make-out music, now that i think about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm steveo:

when the water breaks, however, is a bad time for making out
  2:42pm spodiodi:

lol steveo
  2:47pm yp:

glad to have you back Bryce
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm rsj:

great show Bryce!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Bryce:

hey, rsj! nice to see yazall!
Avatar 2:51pm Chris from DC:

It's a good day when anyone name checks Waxie Maxies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Booz:

Great show Bryce, thanks & welcome back to the electromagnetic spectrum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm sphere:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Mick:

Thanks Bryce - good to have you back!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm steveo:

thanks for this great show! thanks for coming back! thanks for not yelling at me for talking about zeppelin!
  2:59pm nic:

thanks !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Passaic River Blues:

Closing with Robert Vogel = beatific smile. Thank you, Bryce!
