Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05am coelacanth∅:

okay i've never been shy about surrounding m... never mind

...hi Bronwyn and snoozers
  3:05am Squanto:

I like pink, but . . . SHEESH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05am Scraps:

h’lo h’lo hey

pink, pink, and... pink-red?

  3:08am Squanto:

Warning: Do not attempt to drive, or operate heavy machinery after looking at this pink.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hey, look on the bright side. At least the words aren't colored red or yellow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10am Scraps:

The dancing is just awesome. One of the best in musical history.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11am Art:

I agree with Scraps.
  3:12am Squanto:

My eyes agree, Ken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14am coelacanth∅:

i'm quite enjoying the page color; but then, i can't pry my mind out of the gutter.
...and i like the gutter, apparently, so here i dwell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15am Scraps:

Sweet Charity choreography is all wonderful (Bob Fosse). And the musical is one of the very few that’s very, very downer at the end.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17am coelacanth∅:

this voice reminds me of Marc Almond
Avatar 3:17am grtyvr:

my new favourite program...I am glad you find this stuff for us....

Hey folks. been listening all night but busy!
Avatar 3:18am grtyvr:

well look at that!

Marc Almond!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18am Scraps:

I prefer Cy Coleman as the artist! (What you had it earlier.) (I always prefer listing the writers.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19am coelacanth∅:

oh, okay.
Avatar 3:19am grtyvr:

busy getting rid of a pink bedroom that is no longer meeting the need of anything but pink!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19am Scraps:

I also think LIOS is the best.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22am BronwynB:

aw thanks guys :))) thank you all for listening!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23am Scraps:

I thought Jacques Brel reminded me of the Divine Comedy. Maybe that’s obvious....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24am coelacanth∅:

ya know, i never thought about it before, but are starship troopers dehumanized assholes like the state troopers in new york & new jersey?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25am BronwynB:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26am Scraps:

Definitely not Robert Heinlein’s original intent!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26am coelacanth∅:

well then, imagine losing your heart to one!
  3:28am Leone:

Listening to drown out the sound of a distant alarm that it's not letting me sleep. It's 4am here, might as well start the day already with disco sweeney todd
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28am coelacanth∅:

oh Joy
  3:29am Steiner in Whately:

Whooohooo great set
  3:31am Leone:

pretty cool stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32am coelacanth∅:

if they'd had 3 lines included with the admission price it would've taken off
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34am Scraps:

I have a three-cd Sondheim odds-and-sods collection (it’s great) that includes Sweeny Todd’s disco mix. Presumably if Sondheim hated it, it wouldn’t have made it on....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39am coelacanth∅:

wacky i ching! what next charlie brown?
(...actually i like this, and anything else the i ching - or the oblique strategies for that matter, has to offer)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41am BronwynB:

@scraps: the first song i played on the weekly edition of this show was also disco sondheim funnily enough, it was ethel merman's disco version of "some people". sondheim + disco = a suprisingly potent combination!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53am Ken From Hyde Park:

Congrats for landing on the fall schedule, Bronwyn. Your playlists evidently have the right level of weirdness quotient.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54am BronwynB:

thanks ken! im living the dream haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57am coelacanth∅:

okay Bronwyn despite my obviously deficient education i'm cutting out. (actually i just really need to sleep)
Thanks take care
ciao peeps
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59am BronwynB:

good night coel
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06am RomanDogBird:

i was just as confused when i came across some nerd trying to pass off space ghost coast to coast transcripts with all the character names changed to pokemon as their own work (and even if it's some tongue-in-cheek thing i don't understand it)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17am BronwynB:

i don't understand most of the internet anymore
  4:43am DL in LA:

I liked the last time you told the Uber story because you used the term "mind-screw" which is great! But it's a story worth retelling. And it's a great thing about WFMU, that people can stumble across it, at least in that region, which has a lot of people. I originally found it on iTunes radio back in the day. I don't know if that still exists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44am BronwynB:

haha ok so i have told that story before. i'll probably forget and tell it again. it was an alarming but also exciting moment in my life
  4:47am Marc15:

What an awesome show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48am BronwynB:

thanks marc :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54am mauri:

Weekends good for hippie music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58am BronwynB:

  5:18am DL in LA:

I was driving for Uber one night, here in Los Angeles, and listening to a WFMU archive as usual. At the train station I picked up the ex-girlfriend of a current WFMU DJ! She took a picture of the WFMU logo on my dashboard screen and sent it to him!
Avatar 5:21am listener mark:

Thank you for the tunes. Couldn't sleep and turned on the radio. It's a good mix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23am mauri:

dinka duu daung dang I dink I feel duu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31am Scraps:

And another Sondheim thing in my mind: there’s a great Sondheim song called “Next!”, the last song in =Pacific Overtures=, which is probably the overlooked great Sondheim musical IMGDO. (The only one I’ve seen three times, the last time all-Japanese cast)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34am BronwynB:

@mark: welcome friend!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35am BronwynB:

@scraps: its funny i was just listening to pacific overtures for the first time recently and was thinking about how there are not one but TWO intense musical theatre songs called NEXT! pacific overtures is great, i love the song with the poisoned tea
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35am mauri:

I hope they left their boots by the door
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43am Scraps:

“Chrysanthemum Tea”, yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44am Stanley:

Happiness is an e-cigar, the mild e-cigar from Hamlet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am Stanley:

^^(Attempt to be clever)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am Scraps:

I love “Please Hello”, a smorgasbord of songs by different cultures (British, French, Dutch, Russian), going to pluder newly opened Japan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48am Scraps:

um, plunder
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54am BronwynB:

that one is great too!! i am reading a book by sondheim which is a collection of his lyrics and his thoughts on writing them, advice, etc and it's great but also makes me want to throw out every lyric i've ever written
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57am Scraps:

I have that, and fortunately I don’t want to write lyrics. ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59am Scraps:

Thank you Bronwyn B!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59am BronwynB:

haha well im trying to write a musical and its both inspiring and aggravating cause i'll be feeling really proud of some dumb song i wrote and then i read that book (which also includes examples of OTHER people's brilliant lyrics) and im just like "oh shit"
