A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Avatar 11:12am Linda Lee:

cooking isn't something i do at all. it's nice & cool in my kitchen at all times.
  11:13am JakeGould:

Ahhh! That was a very good reference to the old Italian lady kitchen in the basement. The first apartment I ever had was owned by an old Italian lady who cooked mainly in the basement and paying the rent meant getting fed and maybe hang out too long with her and her sisters while they played cribbage or something like that.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Rich in Washington:

just realized that I unconsciously, reflexively turn my music down when long stretches of reggae play while at work, lest someone decide to reinstate our long-dormant drug testing policy and 'randomly' select yours truly.

what king tubby song is this????
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am steveo:

funny, Rich, I was thinking this would be perfect if I was having dental surgery at the moment, with the gas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am melinda:

I started making a tomato soup by roasting quartered tomatoes with onion, garlic and olive oil, then blending with some water using a stick blender, plus salt and chopped basil. Using my toaster oven means less heat in the kitchen and the added roasty flavor is worth it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Trouble:

wow@ officina, that make me very happy to hear. my radio show can travel, even if i'm not...

Dear Rich in Washington with Too Many Tomatoes; just parboil them, peel, cube and bag for the freezer- we have the same "problem" here and they are SO superior to buying canned for spaghetti sauce, salsa, anything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am Ken From Hyde Park:

My mom had string beans the size of small bananas and she had buckets of them. She was putting them in with zucchini and serving them at every meal.
