Good morning, Bill, and hello to Zzzzzzero Hour friends everywhere.
Every year, our local arts council hosts two days of plein air painting w/ an attached auction of the new work, splitting the revenue 50/50 with the 80+ artists. This morning, as usual, I am hanging art at our temporary gallery, missing your show live. Will catch up on the archive! Hear you again soon, I hope.

Brian in UK:

Sem, good luck with the show. I thought you had to be dead to make money out of painting. Damien Hurst notwithstanding.

Bill, quick hello. It just occurred to me as I was painting the chicken coop that there is no Archies tribute band.
Avatar 8:44am
Scraps:

Nor a Wombles tribute band, nor a Banana Splits tribute band. Yet there are several Spinal Tap tribute bands! Shocking.

Good morning Bill and listeners

Good Morning all----thanks for the heads up Bill

Just finished painting the coop. Do I sign it?

@Brian: Why not?

Bill Mac:

Banana Splits! I was just last night perusing a Banana Splits long player that I considered putting on today... I think I opted for the Cowsills instead
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am
Brian in UK:

I believe that there is more than one Rutles tribute band.
Avatar 9:21am
Bill Mac:

Should there be an Archies tribute band?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23am
Stanley:

Hi Brian, have you painted a mural on the coop? Sunset in Tahiti? A scene from the 1926 general strike? Or was it in your usual Howard Hodgkin style?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am
Stanley:

....and hi Bill and everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am
Brian in UK:

Ofcourse not. The Archies of Loaf?
Avatar 9:25am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am

Very well, considering. Thank you.

Rutles! I should have thought of that. Better for Spinal Tap for the joke.

Mediaeval rock is like aromatherapy - all right in small doses.

Bill Mac:

I saw a bunch of muscular gents in kilts playing some war music in front of a castle a few weeks back... they looked like they were getting ready to play a football game.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am
Stanley:

You sure that wasn't the actual army strutting their stuff at the military tattoo? It's going on at the moment. It's amazing that in this day and age 220,000 people pay up £35 to £350 ($50 to $500) to watch an outdated celebration of military might by a country that still thinks it has an Empire. Howver, in these reactionary times, it is taboo to poo-poo the tattoo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am

Hi folks!
Avatar 10:37am

These guys had a more Braveheart flavor to them, complete with tattoos...

The doctor is in!

Cool version of this Aretha classic, live, terrific! And Bukka White had a kind of folk feel to his blues.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am
fred:

@Stanley: I hear you. Looks like our own self-proclaimed thunder-god failed to inspire the orange one to waste millions on a parade though. I guess one only pays for a long-gone empire
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am
Stanley:

Yeah, they will be our country's finest football fans, getting into the zone before a match
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am
Stanley:

@fred: true words and boy, are we going to pay for the next era of our 'glorious' history.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am
fred:

@Stanley: I'm getting offered jobs in the UK every other week or so. It might be related to the expats who are coming back because of Brexit "uncertainty". Though something smelly certainly seems headed for a fan. Why do I think I'll get hit by some of it, someway?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am

Love this Gladiators, in my power pop zone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am

My daughter's favorite band All Time Low, is playing tonight, I'm going with her. Should be fun.

Washaway! The extra XTC song that was the best!

If it’s XTC this must be Zzzzzzero
Avatar 10:57am
Bill Mac:

Hey rw!
Avatar 10:58am

XTC extra songs are.... not the best. They always pick the good songs and stick them on the albums. Except “Washaway”. It’s great.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am

I wouldn't do it. All reliable opinion is that we're headed for utter chaos in the short term (1-2 years) followed by a severe recession. It is quite a phenomenon that this self created catastrophe we're headed for is being allowed to happen. Sense doesn't have look in.

in the us we drove a car with all the wheels loose on a pot hole ridden road; then when the wheels started falling off we kept driving it. then when the wheels were gone we put bicycle wheels on it and drove it even faster.

(The extra songs on =Mummer= are pretty good, though. But still, the songs on the original album of =Mummer= are better...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am
fred:

@Stanley: No way I'm taking the bait. The salary is great, but I don't know whether I'd be able to stay a year from now. Some offers were suspiciously backloaded too (options, mostly, but also guaranteed raises if I could remain eligible). Sounds like a scam to me
Avatar 11:19am
Bill Mac:

@Scraps- I was always a fan of their extra releases back before it was fashionable, but it was really hard to keep up with all of their releases
