Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If WFMU had tons of money to spare, they could send out postage-paid boxes to listeners on request and get the unwanted CDs sent in for airplay or record fair usage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm steveo:

Does he have any Fernando Grillo, Neil?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Or, similar to the clothing collection bins, put up some CD/record/tape collection boxes around the tri-county area.
  3:22pm nic:

love this !!! !!!
Avatar 3:22pm Rocky Horror:

Hello Fabio
Avatar 3:27pm V Priceless:

@ Chris from DC - me neither! He's warming up to take over bass duties for the Italian leg of tour, as Michelle has a conflict, so I've heard.
  3:29pm brainiac:

If a tree fails in the forest and nobody hears it does it make a sound?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Rich in Washington:

I liked that Crass, despite their stridently political nature, had a distinct Dada edge to their work. I also strongly recommend Gee Vaucher's book Crass and Other Post Modernist Monsters.
  4:07pm Reno D:

I depend on Fabio for excellent foreign language pronunciation.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Chthu-Lyle:

I remember a Valentine's Day gig I played with Kraftwerk in Champagne, Illinois (might have been DeKalb? So long ago). This was back in the mid-70s. It's funny. People bought those Kraftwerk records, and I don't think they thought there were really computers that went on the road and played those songs, but there were! I was in the bone section. 4th bone. My usual position. Of course, at the appropriate time, the interdimensional wob-gobbler was summoned forth to eat the brains of those who have committed crimes against music, such as America. Or was it REO Speedwagon? No, no, definitely America. They were bashed over the head with Wurlitzers, I think ... no, that's not right. It was a Kimball. A String-A-Ma-Gig. That's what they called it. A prototype. I don't think it ever did go into production. It was too bulky and heavy, but it did sound nice, and it was good for bashing the heads of the members of America so they could be sacrificed to unimaginable horrors from beyond space-time. Folks loved the sound of it. We played all of the favorites of the day during the sacrifice, and the lush sounds we produced allowed us to summon forth the most appalling Lovecraftian horrors! All of this was a long time ago.
  5:41pm Clay Pigeon:

Hey Fredericks! Yes .... DUEL!
  5:42pm Cooh John:

Sounds like Spike Jones took over.
  5:43pm Cooh John:

Clay and Fabio is laugh out loud funny.
Avatar 5:43pm geezerette:

Fabio,fabulous show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm ɛɨk:

Much respect! That was, of course, a remix of the Lyle comment from here: wfmu.org...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Rich in Washington:

this reminds me of a large box of open reel tapes I once bought at a rummage sale and all the tapes were just random recordings off of television from what sounded like the mid-60s.
Avatar 5:51pm Mr. Lowry:

I'm listening to WFMU and KFJC at the same time, and it's INCREDIBLE.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Carmichael:

Too funny, Ike.
  5:52pm Dean:

What are the odds these guys sought and obtained permission for some of the sampled bits?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Rich in Washington:

funny. I just this morning heard for the first time Go Home Production's mashup of Downtown with Elvis Costello's Pump It Up.
Avatar 5:53pm dale:

love this chart sweepy kind of stuff.
  5:54pm Lyle:

Hahaha CHTHU-LYLE! Interesting. Few know that America's, Dewey Bunnel,l could often be found holed-up in his motel room on the road (the boys always stayed in Ramada Inns) diddling away at a "thought-box" he was building which he felt would be capable of accurately duplicating all of America's hit songs, only with that new "machine" sound he instinctively felt was on the horizon. It was actually a modified Tandy B11R-16 fuzz-shaver, coupled with parts cobbled from a Hamilton Beach blender and an electric football game. Sadly, in a fit of jealously, and probably high on greenies or Doan's Pills, Dan Peek threw the contraption out the window one night in Minot, North Dakota. Since they were on the first floor, the computer was fine, but it was immediately scooped up by someone passing by the room at that very moment. That someone just happened to be Steve Jobs ... and the rest is, as they say, history. Dewey Bunnell ... father of the modern internet?
Avatar 5:54pm geezerette:

Old style DJs hilarious.
  5:54pm Steiner in Whately:

My first ever radio voices were Dan Ingram’s. Forever holds a place in my heart.
Avatar 5:56pm geezerette:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm chresti:

RIP Aretha
  5:58pm Dean:

Wait: America...George Martin...Steve Jobs...Apple!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm chresti:

America the band? Did sacrifices?
Avatar 5:59pm dale:

just heard aretha has joined the big playboy fantasy jazz band in the sky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Carmichael:

Fake Lyle's pretty funny ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Bas NL:

Thanks Fabio! Great one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Ken From Hyde Park:

That would be a good chat board game ... guess the real Lyle.
  6:01pm nic:

great show!!!
  6:53pm bZ:
