"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Avatar 9:16am Wild Neil||Peace All:

John, I get it, you want people to "wake up".
Avatar 9:18am John Allen:

Neil, those with the knowledge need not speak
Avatar 9:18am northguineahills:

But what about us non-Suzies, unless we're all Suzies at heart?!!!

Did I miss a lecture?
What gives?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Ken From Hyde Park:

When I rode the school bus, one older kid's catch phrase was "Wake up and die right."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am steveo:

hi. i'm listening. remember the old days when you just played records and you had no idea who was listening and we had no one to tell that we were really enjoying it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27am MD:

Good Morning Freeform army! CHARGE!!!!!

Hey, Facebook wants your bank account activity information! www.informationliberation.com...
Avatar 9:33am Wild Neil||Peace All:

Roland Young sounds like 1983 or so. Am I close?
@Steveo-I think it would be cool if WFMU were on Shortwave. Unfortunately, I think you cannot broadcast music on SW in the USA.
  9:35am Spec Zed:

I am running on a pro-Crime platform those fall.
Avatar 9:36am Wild Neil||Peace All:

@Spec Zed-looks like Congressman Chris Collins beat you to it.
  9:38am holland oats:

starship or airplane? don't make me google

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am ɛɨk:

I may not have agreed w/Chris Collins on much, but at least he was actually trying to do something about pirate radio stations (that interfere with WFMU). Now I wonder if his legislation on that will go the way of the dodo bird.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am melinda:

hi folks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am Krys O.:

It's great to hear Scritti!
Avatar 9:45am Cheri Pi:

I'm clickying on your stars JA
Avatar 9:46am northguineahills:

@Ike: I used to do pirate radio, outside the geography of NYC, and, well, outside the wfmu frequencies (see free103point9.org, now in Greene County, aka the Wave Farm).
Avatar 9:46am John Allen:

hey cher!
Avatar 9:46am northguineahills:

(in NYC, they were friends of WFMU).
  9:47am b wad:

Hallo all...listening on the train from Vienna to Scheifling. Hotel Pupik!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49am ɛɨk:

I've got no problem w/the ones that don't interfere w/anybody. And I doubt Free 103.9 ever had much of a signal -- in any case, I was never able to pick them up. I think they mainly just streamed, right? And the Wave Farm has gone legal now, so good for them! Isn't the bizarre and intriguing fill-in DJ Thatcher Keats from there?
Avatar 9:54am Wild Neil||Peace All:

@Ike-I gotta appreciate your ability to reach across the aisle on issues that matter! Wow, that was cool.
I read that with a 100W transmitter and morse code you could reach around the world with DX Shortwave!
  10:00am Nate K:

Hi, John. Good stuff.
Avatar 10:02am John Allen:

hey, it's mister sunday afternoon
Avatar 10:02am PKNY:

I have this Mouzon record purely for the "Paul's Boutique" drum rolls, but haven't given it a thorough listen in a long time. "The Beggar" just might change that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am melinda:

@eik looks like he is. I really like his show too.
Avatar 10:03am Wild Neil||Peace All:

I gotta get Paul's Boutique again, it is a SOLIDLY good CD for sure.
Avatar 10:08am PKNY:

@WildNeil - almost 30 years old, and I'm still discovering new things w/ that record
Avatar 10:12am Chris from DC:

Oh wow, Braille Party, haven't heard them in ages. Sorry I missed that.

Avatar 11:56am Wild Neil||Peace All:

@Lixivated-I think he was really innovative and ground breaking. I simply LIKE his music. As a human being, I have no idea what he was like. Thoughts?
