Sounds from the archive of the future, sonic drilling into the past, dissonant rumbling, lyrical melodies, noises (human, animal, mechanical, digital) inscrutable yet honest, desultory but consistent.

John Lurie is such a great beatnik.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36pm chresti:

I'm not familiar with Martin Pontiac. Does he have many songs about cars?
Avatar 9:37pm JakeGould:

America is all about cars. You know the Transformers? The Autobots are the bad guys and the Decepticons are all other kinds of things.
  9:37pm mary:

oh I recognized Lurie's voice and oh yeh, he did Marvin Pontiac.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Luisa24:

Avatar 10:02pm JakeGould:

A riff on mocking ethnomusicology, cultural colonialism and even Jandek level weirdo fetishization.
  10:04pm Dave from Brooklyn:

WFMU the only sure way to blast away moldy, musty ear wax!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm Jeezy:

This Nina track makes me wonder: Is German cursing allowed on our airwaves?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm Scraps.:

Bat Chain Puller is my favorite Capt Beefheart song, and that is is is is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm Scraps.:

In fact, I wrote a piece all about Bat Chain Puller several years ago:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm fleep:

Enjoyed the piece, Scraps. Beefheart was also a painter, and BCP is his art made out of sound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm Scraps.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm Scraps.:

There are so many excellent Beefheart albums throughout his career. There’s only a few Beefheart albums that can’t be considered of his best, depending on your particular Beefheart flavor you prefer.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm Jeezy:

According to Spotify, the majority of Flanger's listeners are in Poland. Makes sense.
Avatar 11:25pm Franco Twinkie:

I must share. When Bat Chain Puller came out, Don did a promo thing at the radio station down the street from my house. I grabbed my Trout Mask album and high tailed it down there to intercept him as he came out the back door. He was very gracious as he autographed my record. Then his intense blue eyes focused on the thrift store rag of a jacket I was wearing and said: " That jacket is beautiful man.You know, I invented punk rock".(!?)
Avatar 11:28pm Inner Ear Detour:

Indeed he did!
Avatar 11:30pm coelacanth∅:

oh i thought it was toyah willcox
Avatar 11:32pm Franco Twinkie:

Toyah invented the waffle iron...I think.
Avatar 11:33pm coelacanth∅:

ah. -well that's similar.
Avatar 11:33pm Franco Twinkie:

Same damn thing!
Avatar 11:33pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm Scraps.:

Want my swag!
Avatar 11:37pm coelacanth∅:

i hope they didn't send mine yet. if they did, it's been stolen by my shady neighbor.
Avatar 11:39pm Franco Twinkie:

Okay, that answers my question. No waffles in the mail!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39pm Scraps.:

In fact, I don’t remember my swag. It’s going to be a surprise!
Avatar 11:39pm coelacanth∅:

Thanks Franco! do you think it'll taste the same electronically assimilated?
Avatar 11:40pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40pm Scraps.:

How bout wuffles?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm Sig:

Rice has a very complicated DNA structure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm Scraps.:

Avatar 11:42pm Franco Twinkie:

The transporter has been on the fritz since it was hit with a skyrocket on the forth of July.
Avatar 11:42pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar 11:45pm coelacanth∅:

yeah i think i haven't had a good waffle in several years. i had some gluten-free frozen ones about a year ago that were not great.
Avatar 11:46pm Franco Twinkie:

No, It was full of dirty clothes and empty beer cans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm fleep:

Interesting way to get rid of trash. You just beam it someplace.
Avatar 11:47pm coelacanth∅:

hmm - well if that thing gets running again i'd like my waffles sans dirty clothes and beer cans, if possible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm Sig:

Avatar 11:49pm Franco Twinkie:

Rice may have more genes, but where has it gotten them? Into sushi, that's where.
Avatar 11:53pm coelacanth∅:

now i want sushi.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm Scraps.:

  11:54pm Carmichael:

It’s not how big your genes are, it’s how you use them.
  11:56pm david:

trippy music. i like it, pretty good for relaxing in bed
Avatar 11:56pm coelacanth∅:

you know what they say about guys with big genes...
Avatar 11:57pm coelacanth∅:

Scraps i wouldn't mind a slab of raw yellowtail on a waffle, that's for sure.
Avatar 11:58pm JakeGould:

Thanks David!
  11:58pm david:

maybe that's what makes humans so efficient. like math theories, they are better the simpler they are
Avatar 11:58pm JakeGould:
