@jillydg: I believe it's the studio voices behind The Partridge Family (Tom Bahler, Ron Hicklin, etc.) because the producers couldn't get the Beach Boys for whatever reason.
@Alison Porchnik: It's interesting that the ancient Hebrew psalms survived in Angola, so I'd like to think there was an African Jewish argot that was probably assimilated or legislated away or forced away by more "persuasive" methods.
Ahh! The world of converso—and non-converso—Jews in the world. Yeah, that references mainly Spain, but still… There are about 5 siblings of my mom that simply disappeared during World War II. Hoping that if they weren’t slaughtered, they somehow became “Christian” in some way and survived.
@northguineahills: Oh please don’t say that. It complicates so much! But that said, I met an Italian guy this week who knew about the 2nd Polish Army and was stunned my dad was in it since that is the army (apparently) all of the members of his family know as the group that helped liberate their town in Italy.
Wait… What am I complaining that I can get in good with a small slice of Italian culture?
@jillydg: Stuart Margolin was a pretty good songwriter. He wrote some rather pretty sunshine pop as a non-performing member of The Parade, of "Sunshine Girl" fame.
