Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

  12:34pm Sean B.:

Love Entwhistle so much. What a waste. Whistle rhymes is one of my faves. His excellent backup vocals along with Townshend with The Who live (especially in the early to mid 70s) are what made them so special.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Uncle Michael:

I've played that before.

@ Sean B.
Me and my family had tickets for the 2002 Who tour. We were shocked when John Entwistle died on the eve of the tour. I half expected it to be cancelled, but they carried on with Pino Palladino who preserved Entwistle's great bass playing on the songs.

Hmmm. Thanks for that info. I did not know John suffered from hearing loss also. I was so pissed off at Townshend for carrying on without John that i vowed that nobody could even pay me tobsee them live. Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Parq:

The Latino selection reminds me of "Hommy", a salsa opera inspired by Tommy. It was supposed to be given its first mainland U.S. performance ever in Lincoln Center in July 2014, and got about halfway through before a thunderstorm with torrential rain shut the whole thing down. As far as I know, it has never been performed to completion anywhere in the 50 states, although I think there was one live performance in Puerto Rico.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Parq:

Michael, if I remember right, they had to shut the power down once the lighting started. The skies were already pretty ugly when the audience started assembling, and when the show began, they warned people that it might come to that. No one left until they had to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Parq:

NGH, I can't explain, but I do know that they said they would shut the show down if the lightning started, and they did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Parq:

Speaking of Lincoln Center, I saw Death there too. Most of the audience were regulars for the summer series and didn't seem to know what to make of middle aged black guys playing hard rock. Then some skinny guy got up in front of the stage to dance. People started joining him, and then at last, it was a rock and roll show.
