Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Erik in Michigan:

The autzen dark star was nice. Brokedown encore...the best
Avatar 10:23pm Jennifer_PNW:

Apparently the Dead & Co. show at Autzen was the first concert in 20 years! Usually, it's just sports? :(
  10:23pm MONEYBAG$:

I'll wear it at every show! MPP and Watkins
Avatar 10:24pm Jeff Conklin:

True wook. Nice
Avatar 10:24pm Jennifer_PNW:

Yep, Dark Star was really good! Stoked to hear the William Tell bridge during St. Stephen. Glad they played Black Throated Wind.

Avatar 10:25pm Adamsworth:

I thought that Garcia Peoples sounded like Phish (in a good way) and I wondered if you'd follow it up with Phish.
  10:25pm MONEYBAG$:

working on getting a Frow Show flatbrim to go along with it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm Smokestack:

I think it was the first time having music at Autzen since the Dead played there in 94
Avatar 10:26pm Jennifer_PNW:

I really wanted to hear West L.A. Fadeaway tho, I missed it by a day last year at Shoreline.
Avatar 10:26pm Jennifer_PNW:

@Smokestack, I'm not familiar with Eugene. Do larger bands play somewhere else rather than a stadium?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm Smokestack:

Dark Star to El Paso was awesome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm Smokestack:

There's an indoor arena here now for those kind of shows.
Avatar 10:28pm Jennifer_PNW:

@Smokestack, yes!! That was a great transition! Really beautiful moment for me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm mb:

  10:33pm MONEYBAG$:

read an interesting comment the other day from Charlie Miller, almost every official live GD release is the wrong pitch
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm Zetti:

Good evening Jeff, friends!
Avatar 10:35pm Jeff Conklin:

that is interesting. honestly really surprised they havent brought him in to work with the archive
Avatar 10:35pm Jennifer_PNW:

Wrong pitch? That is interesting. Speaking of that is anyone throwing down for the PNW Dead pre-orders?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm Rob from colonia:

Scarlet-fire can make time a joke
  10:38pm The Butterman:

  10:44pm zenkoan:

Jeff, received your Lost Strings compilation this week; it is a thing of beauty.
  10:44pm The Butterman:

Not much of a story. I mean, intense trip, heavy music, time bent and he didn't make it to the turlette. Coulda happened to anyone!
  10:45pm The Butterman:

Moneybags! Nice. Could also apply to Picasso moon. Ooooo weeeee
Avatar 10:46pm Jeff Conklin:

Need to know when in the set though. This Scarlet > Fire couldve done him in...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm Rob from colonia:

Scarlet-fire university Vermont late 80s real good also
Avatar 10:47pm Jeff Conklin:

1983 UVM, almost played it tonight. Agreed
  10:50pm TWP:

Tuned in from Charlottesville VA. Hot Scarlet > Fire!
  10:51pm MONEYBAG$:

so what we've learned here is that 80s dead talk is appropriate in the 10-midnight slot
  10:51pm Carmichael:

Heya Jeff, forwarding a message from my wife. Can you preheat the oven to 400 degrees? Sounds like you have.
Avatar 10:51pm Jeff Conklin:

80s dead talk always welcome as long as its positive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm Rob from colonia:

Msg grateful dead. As close to as good can be. Can't get that back
  10:53pm MONEYBAG$:

I thought maybe it was a FCC thing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm Rob from colonia:

If that's the show i am thinking of it's a insane tradition from scarlet-fire
  11:00pm Lucky:

First time listening live. Also trying to reconstruct my digital music post hard drive crash. Ugh. Wasn't sure if I was listening to you after last week's fill-in, but glad you're making a new thing in the 10 to noon slot!
  11:00pm The Real Joe Cool:

Yes, today is Canada Day.
  11:01pm The Real Joe Cool:

Are you guys familiar with the Dark Star Orchestra? They're a Grateful Dead tribute act. You guys should check them out. They're GRRRRRRRRRREAT!
Avatar 11:04pm Jennifer_PNW:

Speaking of Dead cover bands, not a fan of most of them but I do really like Grateful Shred, based out of L.A.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm mb:

After not playing GD covers for 22yrs i'm getting back with the old cover band. Something is in the air.
  11:07pm pp:

not too familiar with Phish but that Halloween live set was exciting
  11:09pm The Real Joe Cool:

Yep. Phish's Halloween shows are exciting.
  11:09pm Carmichael:

There’s a band in Grass Valley CA called Wake the Dead, a celtic version.
  11:10pm The Real Joe Cool:

Phish played the whole Beatles' White Album in 1994 on Halloween.
  11:10pm The Real Joe Cool:

And also Quadrophenia in '95.
  11:11pm The Real Joe Cool:

Remain in Light by Talking Heads in '96.
Avatar 11:11pm Adamsworth:

My friend saw them do Velvet Underground Loaded once.
  11:11pm The Real Joe Cool:

Yep, that was in '98.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm Rob from colonia:

I hear good thing's about solar circus
  11:12pm MONEYBAG$:

they did Ziggy Stardust in 2016, which I wasn't a fan of tbh
Avatar 11:13pm Adamsworth:

Yeah I've heard the VU one and I didn't care for it. I probably would have had fun if I was there, but I usually don't care for their covers.
  11:13pm Jeff Conklin:

Solar Circus were great but nice troll attempt lol
Avatar 11:15pm Jennifer_PNW:

Saw Marisa open for Joan Shelley a week ago. Fantastic show. When I first saw Marisa, she was opening for the John Fahey doc at a theater in Portland.
Avatar 11:15pm Jeff Conklin:

The covers are (sometimes) fun but the whole album thing keeps the improv level low which is really their best aspect
Avatar 11:16pm Jeff Conklin:

@jennifer: Now That's a gig.
Avatar 11:18pm Jennifer_PNW:

Yeah, it was amazing. I was brought to tears several times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm mb:

JC would you ever consider playing studio Phish on the AG?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm Rob from colonia:

Shot who in the what now?

Avatar 11:29pm Jennifer_PNW:

Looking forward to hearing the new Bachman record, thanks for playing a track
  11:29pm Carmichael:

Damn ocean.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm mb:

A studio "Faht" in this set would fit perfect. Just sayin'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm Rob from colonia:

The cats eatin it
Avatar 11:38pm Jeff Conklin:

@mb: If I'm ever moved to, I will. But, as you know, no requests ;)
  11:39pm Erik from Bloomsbury:

I have been listening to FMU fairly regularly since approximately 1994 and have never heard a Dead tune, nevermind Phish. I had to do a double take on the radio dial when I realized... Yeah, that's Phish alright! Love the show!
Avatar 11:41pm Jeff Conklin:

@Erik: The Dead have been a fairly regular feature on my program for 4 years but welcome
Swag For Life Member 11:43pm Mikey_B:

that daniel bachman track told a great story
  11:45pm Erik from Bloomsbury:

Obviously not familiar with your program. Thank you.
Avatar 11:46pm Jeff Conklin:

Keep coming back, Erik, glad to have you

  11:57pm opurt:

Thank you Jeff. Another excellent show.... Still adjusting to the earlier time slot here on the west coast.
  11:57pm jcon:

great radio
Avatar 11:57pm Adamsworth:

I was wondering if you'd play this for the 50th anniversary of its release
  11:57pm Carmichael:

You guys are all high ...
  11:57pm MONEYBAG$:

stay cool, stay weird
  11:57pm Dean:

What was I thinking with "wholly" crap? Good gawd.
  11:58pm Lucky:

Kind of strange listening to the show live somehow...
Avatar 11:58pm Adamsworth:

stay crunchy everybody, ha ha
  12:00am Erik from Bloomsbury:

Totally surreal hearing tears of rage coming out of FMU. Lol where have I been.... PS., the new music you turn me on to is where it's at, of course. Thx again
