Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm David D:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm redkayak:

Hello all :)
Avatar 4:28pm hilmar:

but they incorporated all the surrounding villages...redefined it as being leipzig too...

  4:48pm Barnabus Johnzon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm David D:

Barnabus: Yes, the original - many versions have followed.
Avatar 4:55pm hilmar:

which place on earth will come next (as song title) ? helsinki? new jersey? halle an der saale?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm David D:

Now I have to dig for a Halle song - anyone have any ideas? Kuba?
Avatar 4:58pm northguineahills:

There is a Macus Garvey Blvd in Brooklyn and Kingston, JA.
Avatar 4:58pm northguineahills:

And a park named for him in Harlem.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm Webhamster Henry:

You can just play those German Beatles songs and pretend they are from Halle.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm David D:

NGH: Yes, a very interesting figure: en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm David D:

Hello Henry! Yes, aren't they in fact from Halle?
Avatar 5:11pm hilmar:

Korus Hades - Es regnet nie in Halle-Neustadt (1993)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm David D:

Hilmar - thanks, I was actually going to play that a while back and forgot about it!
Avatar 5:13pm hilmar:

thats for the songs about rain subway, not for the songs about trains subway...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm David D:

I may have to save it for a rainy day, as it were...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm David D:

Or we'll see...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm doctorjazz:

My time to check in, of course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm David D:

Always glad to see you, Doc!
Avatar 5:33pm hilmar:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm David D:

Hilmar, yes probably very soon in fact...
Avatar 5:41pm hilmar:

i planted the plants and will send the rain immediately...(short stop in halle-neustadt)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm David D:

Thanks, are you caught in the rain out in a garden plot?
Avatar 5:49pm hilmar:

no, house of my father with surrounding garden in a village, but almost garden plot...nice song man-in no ki...
Avatar 5:50pm Sem:

Always enjoy your show, David, a Tuesday treat for me. See you and all when the subway rolls round again. G'night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm David D:

Thanks, Sem, have a good night!
Avatar 6:01pm northguineahills:

@hilmar: I started harvesting tomatoes two weeks ago. Butternut squash should be ready next week. Basil and rosemary have been available for about a month, but I've yet cooked anything that needs them.
Avatar 6:02pm northguineahills:

(one of the few perks of living in FL, I usually wouldn't even plant until mid-May in NYC)
Avatar 6:03pm northguineahills:

It's rained all but one day in the last three weeks down here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm David D:

NGH: Does it just rain for a while each day at least?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Parq:

This Paris music reminds me that I watched "Amelie" over the weekend. I know all the reasons to look down one's nose at that movie, but I can't help it. Much like romantic views of Paris in general, I just buy it the way a five year old buys Santa Claus.
Avatar 6:14pm hilmar:

@ngh: rosemary is my favorite and sage...but mostly only reading books and drinking beer in my garden...butternut squash sounds nice, i only tried hokkaido...
Avatar 6:21pm northguineahills:

For a week it nearly rained straight, but since then it's been mostly a couple of multi-hour showers here and there. We just had Tropical Storm Alberto come close to FL (well, it hit the panhandle) and before that a tropical wave decided to slumber off the coast for almost two weeks.

@hilmar: the chocolate mint (not sure why it's called that) is ready, still waiting on my jalapenos, habaneros, bhut jolokias, and carolina reaper chilies to fruit. Sweet potatoes and eggplants will take a while. (also have cucumbers, onions, scallions, and cilantro)
Avatar 6:22pm northguineahills:

I've only heard the Four Lads and TMBG's versions of this song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm David D:

Greetings Parq - nothing wrong with enjoying Amelie!
Avatar 6:25pm northguineahills:

It's a nice 21C in my office, as we're running some botanical experiments and need to keep everything climate controlled.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm David D:

NGH: Yes, air conditioners are a rarity in these parts, I should point out.
Avatar 6:26pm Listening Out There:

Just another subhuman, enjoying Subway...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Parq:

David, I'll probably be the same way about Leipzig if I ever see it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm David D:

Thanks, Listening Out There, we're all subside down!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm David D:

Parq: A tour is on offer anytime!
Avatar 6:32pm northguineahills:

When I first moved to NYC in 2000, A/C wasn't common outside of office buildings, now is rare for a place not have one.
Avatar 6:39pm Listening Out There:

...all sub-jects here of a sub-par Commander in Chief... :)
Avatar 6:41pm northguineahills:

This Girma Bèyènè is a fave of mine.

Thank you, Doctorjazz, have a good trip home...
Avatar 6:48pm Listening Out There:

A Rosenberg sans trio? What's the world coming to...
Avatar 6:53pm TDK60:

Part of that whole Django-specialty-world I suppose.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm David D:

LOT: He's playing with Biréli Lagrène there.
Avatar 6:56pm northguineahills:

Thanks David!
Avatar 6:58pm TDK60:

Danke DJ David D.
