Don't know if it's the best i've heard but it's a goodie. First I ever heard was a version by Roger Daltrey on a cassette my Mom had when I was a kid. I hated it & took me forever to come around to the song after I heard the better versions. Roger Daltrey almost ruined Walking The Dog for me.

Aerosmith’s Walking the Dog had a’holt of me for a while in about 1974, when I knew nothing of the pack of versions.
