Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

How bizarre; I was thinking of this song on Monday!! How do, Ridgewoodians!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm david w:

James! Really odd!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm steveo:

Hi! Wow, Mutantrumpet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm david w:

Super-charged mutantrumpet, steveo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm steveo:

i'll say!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm david w:

Does anybody know Isabel Waidner, aside from being bass player in Klang, for the writing?
Avatar 3:47pm northguineahills:

Ock! Missed Ben Neil! I djed before him at Halcyon around 2002 (back when it was a cafe/gallery/bar/record store in Carroll Gardens). Fun to watch live!
Avatar 3:48pm northguineahills:

(alcohol and record stores are a dangerous mix)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Webhamster Henry:

Well this is fun!
  3:51pm eve:

i swear i heard robert ashley's voice, but is this the ka baird set?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm david w:

Ka Baird now. Ashley in the mist maybe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm david w:

Hello ngh and henry! Halcyon was great. And yes the mutantrumpet is good theater along with the rest of it....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Webhamster Henry:

Testify sounds hep this week!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm david w:

Testify on the Drummer stream... I believe!
Avatar 4:18pm northguineahills:

Now, Bernhard Gunter is definitely not terrestrial radio-friendly. Even when I had a full sound system in my car in the late 90s, I couldn't hear any of cds at all (but you hear it well at home).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm david w:

In headphones it will deliver, but crappy multimedia speakers may not be ideal (sic). Either way, you kind of have to be open to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm david w:

I'm not advocating for headphones, specially earbuds. Most good recordings work best in the open air with nice speakers, not necessarily expensive ones. Headphones can get you inside the sound just fine; but as a fallback, convenience, privacy, anti-irritant. etc.
Avatar 4:41pm Sem:

Events overtook me, will listen to the archive later this evening. For now, DW, catching the tail end. Hello, Ridgewood folk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm david w:

Hello, Sem. I should have the archive up by the time you wake up tomorrow. Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm Webhamster Henry:

There's a show of Spiegel's non-electronic works coming up soon at Kammer Klang:

This seasons final KK features a dedication to one of contemporary musics most valuable composers, Laurie Spiegel. Celebrating her lesser known instrumental works for banjo, piano and strings, Oliver Coates has arranged for and leads an ensemble especially put together for this night, featuring: Galya Bisengalieva, Robert Ames, Eliza McCarthy - Pianist and Tom McKinney.
Avatar 4:48pm northguineahills:

Didn't know about the Hunger Games (and I watched all of the movies, but I did know about Voyager).
Avatar 4:51pm danjoseph:

Are we in fact hearing the original Philo LP???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Webhamster Henry:

I have this on the reissued clear LP, which is great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm david w:

Hello Dan! No this is downloaded digital reissue version.
Avatar 4:55pm danjoseph:

...that's what I thought, but the playlist....Thanks, love it. D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm david w:

I got sloppy on the history there, sorry.
Avatar 4:56pm danjoseph:

The Universe doesn't care, and neither do I!
