Avatar 12:19pm V Priceless:

was just reading some good reviews of new Witch Mountain self-titled record - first with new singer; caught them live last year supporting St. Vitus @ St. Vitus - whoa. Chick's got some pipes.

I like Death Cat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm chris:

Avatar 12:38pm V Priceless:

  12:38pm Polyus:

This autistic rock thing he speaks of must be a thing ‘cause Deathcat sounds like a number of young bands where I live.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm sphere:

"autistic rock" is a weird genre label cause i don't see the connection. it felt somewhere in between Lydia Lunch and the Birthday Party.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Devin B.:

Savant-rock might make more sense
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm sphere:

  12:43pm Polyus:

I just call it spazz rock as a broad header.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm sphere:

I like that Polyus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm Devin B.:

@sphere: that works
Avatar 12:46pm Luna:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Is this guy screaming "Yanny" or "Laurel"?
  12:51pm Dean:

Zeke's latest is darn good. BMF enlisted three entirely new players (though the bass player was on early endeavors by the band). No more Donny Paycheck, which is sad-making.

@Sphere, yes that's a real selling point.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm sphere:

We may never see them in the States again, for all we know.

White hills in PDX 6/03 then chasing them down to SFO 6/05!!!
Avatar 1:08pm Luna:

We are fortunate to have that Ufomammut and White Hills show here in town. And, my friend's two-piece, ORYX are opening as well. YAY!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm coelacanth∅:

that white hills track is some awesome shit!

...white hills, ufomammut, and my friends' band "it's not night it's space" at st.vitus on the 25th.

Avatar 1:24pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

MOLTEN is super heavy. Me Likey!
  1:25pm David in London:

I had (have) two close friends, both of whom had (have) wildly differing musical tastes. The one thing that united us all was Monster Magnet's 'Spine of God'. It should be available free of charge from all good pharmacies...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Michael 98145:

Holy moley, haven't heard this in a long age !

VP i hope i see you there! i'm trying to figure out transportation. (i have a car but maybe can't legally drive in the 5 borough's, depending on how the statute of limitations affects my blowing of of a $280. bogus parking fine)
Avatar 1:43pm Chris from DC:

Bloodbath and Tombs, that's a show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Michael 98145:

WFMU is more deserving of $$$
Avatar 1:44pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Chrome are so odd and heavy and weird.
Avatar 1:44pm D. Lightfoot:

What did I miss?
  1:45pm David in London:

Wild Neil - Spot on, Chrome are one of America's greatest - yet most underrated - bands in my book.
  1:45pm Polyus:

The combination of the show being on a Monday plus absolute crap opening bands probably means no Chrome for me.
Avatar 1:45pm V Priceless:

pre-clicky'd Chrome! So many shows, so little time! @ fish - hope u can get there!
Avatar 1:50pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@David-I have a Chrome anthology I listen to every 4 years or so (got it in Ventura CA in a cool record store). Its an acquired taste, but they are very original!
Avatar 1:51pm Diane Kamikaze:

I love Chrome more than life itself!
Avatar 1:53pm Chris from DC:

They were so good when I saw them a few years ago. Two long sets, one Chrome, one Helios Creed solo stuff.
Avatar 1:57pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Sanhedrin sure sound a lot like Iron Maiden.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Michael 98145:

whoa -
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm coelacanth∅:

V - i think i can i think i can
Avatar 2:03pm V Priceless:

@ fish - if you're lucky, they'll be serving up the usual fare of locally-sourced pierogies down at the end of the bar! Dee-lish!
Avatar 2:07pm V Priceless:

yeah! This new Proletariat 7" is ass-kicking!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Michael 98145:

Avatar 2:20pm V Priceless:

Avatar 2:21pm Diane Kamikaze:

@Wild Neil, in some ways, yes I do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Michael 98145:

how did i never hear this BÖC ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Michael 98145:

... or forget it?
  2:23pm Polyus:

Is this a 7” version or something?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Rich in Washington:

I was always somewhat cold on the BOC, thinking they were a nerdy black sabbath, but my appreciation for them has grown quite a bit over the decades.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Michael 98145:

@Polyus, so it would seem : www.discogs.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm paul b:

I think I recall that Blue Oyster Cult song was written by Patti Smith
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Michael 98145:

@paul, sure did NOT know that
  2:27pm Dean:

I first heard BÖC c.'75, when On Your Feet or On Your Knees was released. One night on my suburban street a neighbor was blasting it. I decided I liked it. Didn't actually buy the album, though, until about three or four years ago.
  2:28pm Dean:

Later, I met Sandy Pearlman, who signed my copy of the recently released second Clash LP.
Avatar 2:28pm Luna:

I'm such a Daniel O'Sullivan fangirl
Avatar 2:29pm Diane Kamikaze:

@Paul, yes Patti Smith lyrics, Albert Bouchard music. Patti and Alan Lanier were a couple at the time, and she contributed to the band heavily over many records!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 2:31pm Diane Kamikaze:

@Luna! I didn't even realize he was ON this! You ARE the fangirl!!! :)

@polyus WORD
Avatar 2:38pm V Priceless:

watching a candid vid clip of Robert Fripp dancing that he (or his people) just posted to his FB page - it's a riot! Highly recommend viewing - his boogie-down moves seems to go with any music! Ha!
Avatar 2:40pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

the thing i am is late.
Avatar 2:41pm V Priceless:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm coelacanth∅:

haha that's hilarious! ...but the strangest thing about it is it's toyah's music, yet it doesn't totally suck!
Avatar 2:55pm Chris from DC:

Would the video go with Beneath Oblivion?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm coelacanth∅:

Chris - even better!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm chris:

epicness. thanks, Diane!
Avatar 2:58pm northguineahills:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm coelacanth∅:
