Avatar 12:38pm Lixiviated Life:

... and suddenly, Duane again.
  12:41pm tfunk:

This Henry Mancini remix is dirty
  12:44pm still b/p:

Who can say.... but I prefer to think Mancini and Mercer would get a kick out of this, and they boogie to it now in the beyond.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Passaic River Blues:

Oh Lordy, loving this reinvention.
  12:46pm queems:

great transition
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Passaic River Blues:

Just boarded the Duane Train. This is my new favorite radio show. Thank you for the music, Duane!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

So this is what they listen to on the Golf Channel!
  1:06pm Marley Dogg:

Golf the “sport” is the worst!
Avatar 1:07pm Cecile:

Are we going to eventually have a class of musician and artists who are only scions of wealthy families because they are the only ones who can afford to do art full-time?
Avatar 1:08pm Cecile:

Is Club Charlie a place that comes up when you google "Notorious Munich clubs?"
Avatar 1:18pm Duane:

Cecile: Ha! Charlie is pretty fun, but it's not 1982 anymore, so it's not the kind of scene that inspired Queen's "Body Language" anymore. Charlie is a dark box on the bottom of a thai restaurant that's only open on sat'day nights
Avatar 1:22pm Cecile:

that sounds kinda great.
Avatar 1:25pm Lixiviated Life:

Just bought the SnotGoblin Album... support SnotGoblin!
  1:35pm Lord Johnzon:

  1:40pm Lord Johnzon:

@cecile I hope not... speaking as someone who's never really had to work a day job I can tell you it doesn't necessarily translate to productivity... also I'd say art is generally enhanced life experience so if you don't have any what would your message be? This is why basic income is a good idea... give everyone the freedom to follow their bliss at least a little bit.
  1:41pm Marley Dogg:

Real digging this set! Viva Duane!
  1:42pm David in London:

I'm usually a little sniffy about Can covers, but this is really top notch.
Avatar 1:47pm Cecile:

ITA, Lord J. It just gets discouraging working full time and never seeming to have enough time for art.
Avatar 1:47pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Late getting onto da train. Wish I could be on that Soul Train line dancing to this Chi-ca-go one.
Avatar 1:48pm Cecile:

Jennique, we can have a virtual one in our office chairs.
Avatar 1:50pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@Cecile: yesyesyes
@Lord J: I so wish I could just work on art. My year has been nothing but working, commuting and exhaustion with maybe an hour's focus on art.
  1:53pm Lord Johnzon:

@cecile yea it's something that bothers me a lot... actually kind of keeps me from wanting to call myself an artist or promote myself... like I personally know a lot of people who are way more talented than me but for economic reasons they can't really do their art as much as they would otherwise. I feel like society doesn't value artists until they've "made it", been co-opted by corporations, become part of the celebrity system etc. ... which is harder to do if you are
critical of capitalism.
  1:55pm Lord Johnzon:

They point at Van Gogh and say never forget but there are Van Goghs living and dying in obscurity now.
  1:57pm Lord Johnzon:

This is why we should all move to Bhutan, where they measure Gross National Happiness instead of GDP
  2:01pm Lord Johnzon:

If y'all haven't heard there's an effort to revive MLK's Poor People's Campaign for the 50th anniversary... there will be actions in 30 states for the next 40 days... actually starting on Monday I think? You can sign up for a ride to an event at your state capitol or contribute to the legal defense fund here:
Avatar 2:01pm Cecile:

Thanks, Lord J.
  2:03pm Lord Johnzon:

You're welcome! Spread the word ye owl!
