Hey dB, all
Avatar 10:18pm Franco Twinkie:

Does hair dissolve if you throw it into a pile in the front yard?
Avatar 10:18pm Looms:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm Daniel Blumin:

Hola, upstate sean!
Avatar 10:25pm phil:

awesome show, sounds great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm coelacanth∅:

Franco, yes if, like many, you use nair on your lawn; otherwise it might take a few years.
  10:31pm rw:

Oh, man. Hey, where are we?
  10:31pm chresti:

Sounds nice! Hello
Avatar 10:31pm Franco Twinkie:

Okay! I've got my work cut out for the weekend cleaning up this mess. Thanks for the tip.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm coelacanth∅:

Franco -seriously, there is another consideration; if the hair is long enough a bird very likely will use it to make a nest, and quite easily hang herself trying to work with it. (i have seen this)
Avatar 10:37pm Franco Twinkie:

Jesus! I better get started now. even though it's getting dark outside.
  10:37pm rw:

Hang herself? That’s awful. I heard a similar story about a fox this weekend. I think it’s more likely the hair will just dissipate. Wind, birds, etc.
  10:38pm rw:

How much hair are we talkin’ about here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm Daniel Blumin:

Hello, Chresti!!! Thanks, phil!
  10:42pm chresti:

If it’s long, it might get tangled up in someone’s feet and trip them!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm coelacanth∅:

i have a photograph of a bird skeleton hanging by her neck from hair attached to a mostly built nest. bird's will use just about anything strand-like.
i don't think i'd worry too much about a bird working on a nest overnight though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm melinda:

That was hypnotic.
  10:43pm rw:

Oh, DB, The show is sounding great in my back yard!
Avatar 10:44pm Franco Twinkie:

Well, I gave my girlfriend a haircut this afternoon(she had quite a mop) and instead of picking it up I just threw it onto a pile of dry leaves thinking our cat might like to lay on it. Is this flawed logic?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm coelacanth∅:

somebody's back yard is sounding great in my bedroom!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm Daniel Blumin:

rw, no neighbors, I hope!
  10:46pm rw:

Neighbors asked me to turn it up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47pm coelacanth∅:

Franco i'd guess that if it's not more than maybe 6-7" it's not a big risk to a bird? and maybe a rabbit will use it for a nest and be thankful for it. i dunno.
  10:48pm rw:

Dog’s asking for a walk. I may need to go. Thanks Daniel! Enjoy the weekend! Take care all! Have a hairy one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm coelacanth∅:

rest in peace Pierre.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm coelacanth∅:

ciao rw and dog
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm melinda:

Do they still make Nair?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm coelacanth∅:

you're not on that,melinda?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm Daniel Blumin:

rw, whatever you do, walk freeformly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm coelacanth∅:

- and watch out for tumbleweeds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm melinda:

Several years ago I bought a product called Veet, which smelled just like Nair. So I guess it was reincarnated.
Avatar 10:55pm Franco Twinkie:

I'll tell you, BooBoo was really starting to look like a witch, so I thought something shoulder length and bobbed would nice with her new sun dress. I didn't think it could be a potential ecological disaster.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm Tome:

great stuff hello Daniel and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm coelacanth∅:

"veet" sounds more 21st century. i'd think that after several decades of clinical testing they'd determine that burning your skin might not be good, but maybe it's okay to burn your skin after all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm Daniel Blumin:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm coelacanth∅:

Franco haha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm Tome:

something about cassettes I dunno esp when you crank the sound up , you can just sink your tteef into !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm coelacanth∅:

but the blue bowtie must offset the witch look, no?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Good evening, Dr. Bluminstein. It's alive!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01pm melinda:

The hair discussion reminded me of the Body Farm in Tennessee where they study human decay, so I looked it up and found a line of body care products of the same name. I wonder if they know.
  11:02pm chresti:

The hair on my legs fell off after a bad sunburn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm coelacanth∅:

according to the stickywebs nair is still sold at mallwart and other fine stores.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm melinda:

I used to get catalogues from the Vermont Country Store which would sometimes have long-forgotten toiletries like Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm melinda:

Happy 60!
  11:10pm chresti:

Prell? Nice hair product
Avatar 11:10pm Franco Twinkie:

This sounds like the novel Mailman by Robert J Lennon! Great book.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm ashestoashes:

In terms of all the hair product comments I think it might be worth noting that in the Mahabarata, Yudhishthira wagers his wife, Draupadi, in an epic losing gambling battle with Duryodhana and Yudhishthira suggests that she is as beautiful as Lakshmi and also that she is "devoid of excessive bodily hair." No nair needed in the celestial realms.
  11:11pm chresti:

I wish that mailman delivered in our neighborhood
  11:12pm Kat in Chicago:

I wish I could go to that Good Room show! Alas, my record fair plans fell through.
  11:13pm chresti:

I had that catalog before. Had a potpourri feeling to it-with ruffles
Avatar 11:14pm Franco Twinkie:

What the hell did I start here? I think I'll keep my comments about music from now on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm ashestoashes:

Franco, hair grows even after death. You can stop hair no more than you can stop music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm melinda:

@chresti yes, haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm melinda:

Herbal Essence and Earthborn were my favorite shampoos back then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm coelacanth∅:

haha your hair will not not grow after you die!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm Daniel Blumin:

Ken, greetz! Thanks, melinda! chresti, that's what I was thinkin till I started wondering about his definition of "important"...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23pm coelacanth∅:

- and i like the body as the body should be. if a woman is meant to have armpit hair then i'd prefer armpit hair, thank you!
  11:24pm chresti:

Like this tune
  11:25pm chresti:

I don’t see any stars to select on the mobile version
Avatar 11:26pm phil:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26pm fleep:

Four out of five top movie stars use Lustre Cream Shampoo
  11:26pm chresti:

Very atmospheric
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28pm coelacanth∅:

i guess dolphins don't need shampoo. (somehow some fishes do)
Avatar 11:29pm Franco Twinkie:

Okay, one more. When I was about 5 years old my cousin Albert decided to wash his hair with Ajax cleanser just to make me and my sister laugh(I come from a family of clowns) It was great until he got it in his eyes and started screaming. Well, My Aunt beat him senseless which only made it funnier, especially since the Ajax made his hair stand straight up.
  11:30pm chresti:

That stuff will burn the hair off for sure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30pm coelacanth∅:

oh my! funny and horrible and outrageous!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm melinda:

That's horrible
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm fleep:

The Shimmering is trancelike
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm coelacanth∅:

as children we bathed once/week. i had lots of zits so it was important that at least my long hair wasn't too disgusting at school and one sunday night i discovered there was no shampoo. my father gave me this plastic thing with just enough shampoo for one time but i was suspicious and extracted that it was enema soap!
but i had no choice and used it and it made my hair much more healthy looking than the prell concentrate had been doing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm coelacanth∅:

fleep i thought you meant the shimmering of the movie stars after using lustre creme shampoo!

yeah this set is astounding
  11:40pm melinda:

Coel that's hilarious
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm coelacanth∅:

  11:42pm chresti:

I remember being on the once a week schedule , every Sunday
  11:43pm chresti:

I didn’t know enema soap existed
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43pm fleep:

Growing up, I was constantly wet.
Avatar 11:45pm Franco Twinkie:

Soap is soap. Once my aunt(a different one) tried to get me to go to the store in the middle of the night to buy her some laundry soap - which I refused to do. But she just wouldn't take no for an answer. Finally in exasperation I said "just use dish soap, it'd the same damn thing!" and hung up the phone. Later she told me it worked great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Don't astronauts have some kind of dry shampoo thing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm coelacanth∅:

probably ran around naked all the time too fleep, huh?
  11:47pm Kat in Chicago:

Yeah, the knowledge that something called "enema soap" exists wasn't the takeaway I'd expected from the playlist tonight
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm coelacanth∅:

chresti i didn't either. (actually i didn't know what an enema was until that night)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm coelacanth∅:

(...the idea freaked me out a bit!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm fleep:

Kat, yes, 'enema soap' is now in my search history, hope the folks at Google enjoy it.
  11:49pm melinda:

Me neither Kat, but now I can rest easy. Nitey nite all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm coelacanth∅:

sweet dreams!
  11:51pm rw:

Hey. I'm back. You guys talking about enema soap? I can't leave you alone for a minute.
  11:52pm Eric Hat:

Thanks for another swell program Daniel. Have a splendid week
Avatar 11:53pm Franco Twinkie:

As Redd Foxx famously said: "Don't forget to wash your ass."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm Ike:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm coelacanth∅:

i've got that Red Foxx album! when i discovered it in a thrift store i thought i was hallucinating. (that they'd release an album with that title in the 60s)
