Avatar 12:09pm Duane:

What's up Duane Train Fam?? Thanks for tuning in!!!
Avatar 12:11pm PKNY:

Never heard this Newban before, had to look up on Discogs. Impressive that they were able keep the disco groove out (at least on this track) in 1977.
Avatar 12:15pm northguineahills:

Azambuja & Cia, new to me and digdug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm mb:

hello Duane. Nice to meet you this weekend.

This may be an illegal question but what song did you play immediately after William Parkers set at Trans Pecos on Sat?
Avatar 12:19pm Duane:

Hi mb! Nice to meet you too! I think thats was Apple & the Oranges-Gotta stand for something
Avatar 12:22pm northguineahills:

Wow, William Parker and Duane at Trans Pecos?!!! Man, I sometimes miss my ol' hood.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm mb:

Thanks Duane! William was digging it! I saw him free styling some lyrics to it (or maybe he knew the song). That bass line is still in my head.

Cute kid of yours too, btw.
Avatar 12:26pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Super stressful day at work today, so thanks for the super smooth grooves.

Duane Train: mad music to make maps, amo this express!
Avatar 1:03pm northguineahills:

(seriously, I'm cartographing right now!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Kat in Chicago:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Kat in Chicago:

I'm just Excel wrangling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm crateslinger:

NGH - what kind of maps do you make?
Avatar 1:08pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

NGH-do you do GIS?
Avatar 1:08pm northguineahills:

@cratesling: Today, just freshwater vegetation surveys near Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades to analyze the restoration efforts.
Avatar 1:09pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@NGH-so do you take tabulated data with coordinates and make maps? If so that is kinda digital to analog!
Avatar 1:09pm northguineahills:

@Wild Neild: That's about 2/3rds of what I do.

@Kat in Chicago: I do Excel wrangling when I get data from the field, fun!
Avatar 1:10pm northguineahills:

@Wild Neil: Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm mb:

Thanks for the shout out Duane! Not to be a pain in the ass but it was not Apple & the Three Oranges- "Gotta stand for something". This one had a rising bass line that was really busy. Must. Know. What song that was...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Passaic River Blues:

Dude, someone is playing a bouzouki in this Heatwave track. That is incredible!
Avatar 1:21pm Duane:

mb: hmmmm..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm JtotheK:

@Kat, NGH: I'm about to start my excel wrangling shortly.
Avatar 1:29pm HarktheUmpire:

Im I the only one hearing "music nightmare sexy boy, no doubt about it"?

Avatar 1:30pm HarktheUmpire:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm crateslinger:

Duane's got the boogie map; restoring the funky vegetation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm adampsyche:

lost it @ "restoring the funky vegetation"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Passaic River Blues:

Seeding the Perma-disco. Love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Passaic River Blues:

I was listening to "Mandrilland" last weekend (checking to see if "Mini-Suite for Duke" is still dope--it is). The pride of Brooklyn, here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm crateslinger:

The Johnny Appleseed of funk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Alejandroool:

killer show today - helping to ignore the incessant gloom and grey days here
Avatar 2:40pm Jshatan:

If you keep being this good I'm going to create a bot to just clicky-star every damn song!
Avatar 2:40pm Jshatan:

And speaking of "DAMN" - shout out to Kendrick Lamar for the first-ever hip hop Pulitzer!
Avatar 2:42pm Duane:

Thanks! A lot of these records have NEVER left my house, because I don't know what i'd do if anything happened to them. Diggin in '96 had it's perks:)
Avatar 2:43pm Duane:

Jshatan: Yeah that was amazing. GO Kendrick!
Avatar 2:46pm Jshatan:

Hah! So you left the house in an armored van today?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm crateslinger:

I have never heard any one of these records before in my life. A real treat - and so many 7"/12" vinyls. Especially loved the Rare Function and the Gal Costa. Thanks Duane for bringing all this to my ears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm chris:

thanks for the super funky train today, Duane!
Avatar 2:54pm Jshatan:

I gotta run, but speaking of crates, maybe I'll see you at the record fair or somewhere during RSD!
Avatar 2:56pm Duane:

Jshatan: Oh yeah! The wife will let me play at the fair, so I'll see you at the Ferris :)
