Avatar 12:02am Jennifer_PNW:

Good evening good people
  12:03am fabio:

which band was the one you played before Agitation Free? the noisy one
  12:04am Jeff Conklin:

Not me, Fabio
  12:04am opurt:

Good evening! So much for finishing my taxes - that can wait till tomorrow now.....
  12:06am dave:

Holy crap, Jeff, this sounds fantastic, but man am I sorry you had to miss that Garcia Peoples set, yeow!
Avatar 12:07am Jeff Conklin:

Morning, all.

Soooooo bummed to miss GP but my duties here trump all else....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09am mb:

Jeff I like/don't like that you don't identify the year of the tracks.
  12:09am Clint in Reno:

Howdy. Long time. Headphones on, ready to take the trip.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10am sberger:

Evening all...and thanks for showing up Jeff. Means a lot of a lot of folks.
  12:40am dave:

Whoa, what a set this is
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am sberger:

1st set Dead, too. Nice!
Avatar 12:42am Jennifer_PNW:

Nice transition
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am brycepunk1:

F--cking love your show! Last track was amazing.
Avatar 12:47am Jeff Conklin:

No censorship needed here but thanks Bryce!
  12:49am phat:

You've succeeded in putting a dent in my dislike of the Dead.
Avatar 12:50am Jeff Conklin:

It's never too late...
  12:52am phat:

It's mostly inspired by the hippies in this damn town in the 90s
  12:52am SeanG:

keep on rockin Jeff! love you man
Avatar 12:53am Jeff Conklin:

Understood, phat. My whole thing is separating the music from the bullshit and putting the Dead in a different context. I think it works...
  12:54am SeanG:

big richard thompson fan and also gerry rafferty!
  12:55am opurt:

Damn! Jeff got me listening to and liking the Dead. Now he has me enjoying Richard and Linda(and I will refrain from the Twin Peaks reference) . I have to ask....what's next?
Avatar 12:57am Jeff Conklin:

What could anyone have against Richard and Linda??
  12:57am phat:

The guitarist in one of my old bands was always able to do that. I think I had to deal with the fandom more than he did. Context is surprisingly important.
Avatar 12:58am Jeff Conklin:

It's a new day, my brothers and sisters
  12:59am opurt:

Noting against Richard and Linda at all - I somehow neglected them most of my life..... I greatly appreciate hearing them here.
  12:59am dave:

This version is like a religious experience
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59am sberger:

The Thompson's played Boston, the one I saw, the night after this Bottom Line gig. Listening to them back to back one can understand how the Boston gig seems so understated. They left it all in NYC. Unbelievable.
Avatar 1:06am Mark R.:

I just heard about Minami Deutsch this week for the first time, and then you play them!
  1:10am rw:

Jeff! Don't wear a beret! Don't do it!

Enjoying the Ghetto as always. Thanks!
Avatar 1:13am Jeff Conklin:

  1:15am SeanG:

avant ghetto RT beret--next marathon premium
  1:15am rw:

Ugh, do what you want, man. Just don't say I didn't warn you.
Avatar 1:19am Jeff Conklin:

looking up tie-dye berets rn
  1:22am rw:

tie-dye beret... that's a different story.
  1:23am rw:

Gotta take out the trash and hit the hay. Thanks again Jeff and have a good week all!
  1:26am phat:

This has gradually become my favorite show on WFMU.
Avatar 1:30am Jeff Conklin:

Night, rw.

Wow. Thanks, phat. That's really nice of you to say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44am Granny Spicy Tuna:

i'm sad i missed some of the earlier tracks tonight, and happy i can listen to the archive later!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45am Granny Spicy Tuna:

This show converted me to the Dead.
  1:45am phat:

you're welcome.

this drone, in particular, is the kind of stuff that hits the spot these days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45am Granny Spicy Tuna:

And many have tried before!!!
Avatar 1:47am Jeff Conklin:

Nice, Granny.
Avatar 1:49am Mark R.:

Digging the long droney stuff a lot lately. Not familiar with Juri Camisasca, this is really haunting and beautiful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09am Goyim in the AM:

I heard an interview on German radio with M.A.L. recently, in which he also claimed credit for Reeves Gabrels and Robert Fripp's time with Bowie. Terrific player, but a bit of a jealous crank, I think.
  2:12am J:

Checking in late but looking forward to the rest from the archives tmro. Cheers from LA
Avatar 2:12am Jeff Conklin:

Interesting. Thanks for sharing that, Goyim
  2:15am yippie:
