Avatar 3:06pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

I've decided to lift weights for strength and not body building. Body building seems kinda vain to me.
Avatar 3:07pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

This green/red complementary color vibration is really really intense!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm BronwynB:

hey martha and everyone :)
  3:10pm wow:

k bye
Avatar 3:12pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Hey Bronwyn, make any musical discoveries this week? I sure did! It was Top Drawer "Confession of a Sinner" or something, it was Acid rock from 1969, nobody is selling it on Discogs. Heard it this morning I think on Garbage time!
Avatar 3:13pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

It had sin in the title. Priests don't preach enough about hell anymore, by the way, random thought there. Sorry!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Rob (Jerzcity):

being entirely unfamiliar with this program and Gaby Losoncy, it took me a while to figure out this wasn't the DJ talking
Avatar 3:13pm TehBadDr:

Hi Martha! This is rather interesting!
Avatar 3:14pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@Rob-yeah, me too! I think this is going to be a very avante gardé show.
  3:15pm Martha:

No - not me talking - I'm not nearly this decisive - hello everyone!
  3:18pm McGreivey:

Um...Okay, like...S-see there was this... And... Wh-and then there...wa--an--Nevermind. Forget it. You wouldn't understand anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm BronwynB:

@neil: i haven't made any new musical discoveries so far this week but then the week is only two days old ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Mick:

@Michael, nice. "The coffin lid comes down on the rainbow"
Avatar 3:26pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Room: do you need a special turntable and cartridge to play 78's? Or as long as it can do 78rpm you are ok? Is there any advantage to getting an older electric 78 rpm record player from back in the day? I want to get 20's music is why.
Avatar 3:28pm TehBadDr:

ANy 78 rpm TT will do. It won't be stereo.
Avatar 3:30pm dan in wisconsin:

This Dark Blue sorta reminds me of the Damned.
Avatar 3:31pm Cheri Pi:

Heya Martha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm pinholga:

You should use a proper sized stylus for 78s to avoid damaging your records and your stylus.
Avatar 3:34pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@pinholga-ok, I will look that up. I figured there was SOMETHING different. So I SHOULD have a dedicated 78rpm turntable.
Avatar 3:34pm TehBadDr:

I say find a victrola at some thrift store/estate sale and refurb it!
  3:34pm Martha:

Hi there!!!
  3:36pm Pete:

Why isn't there a WFMU pin up calendar with all the DJs in revealing poses? Seems like a sure winner for fund raising.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm steveo:

hi Martha -- good to hear you today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm BronwynB:

pete, i love this idea. we are a sexy, sexy bunch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm BronwynB:

marathon stunt idea: the dj puts on multiple layers of wfmu swag items and for each mouse of today or whatever they take off an article of clothing.

i'd do it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm pinholga:

If your arm has swapable headshells, you can get a second shell and then swap when needed. Or if your cartridge happens to be one that they make a 78 stylus for, you can swap the stylus assembly. So few tables have 78 that yeah, you might just want a second table. Also the response curve on 78s (and early LPs, for that matter) isn't RIAA. www.esotericsound.com has styli, cartridges, preamps and other supplies.
  3:40pm Pete:

@BronwynB that's the best idea ever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm BronwynB:

stay tuned for my next marathon show then ;)

Avatar 3:55pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@pinholga-thanks for the link! They have affordable cartridges too! So if I find a turntable at a yard sale I will just need a new belt and a cheap cartridge! WOOO!
  3:55pm flashbazbo:

Steveo what are you threatening to do at each level?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm steveo:

i'm not sure how much worse it can get, flashb
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Rob (Jerzcity):

Let the pledge-flaying begin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Rob (Jerzcity):

Speaking of flaying....I can't remember, but either Illill or Angkor Wrack reminded me of Mindflayer
  3:59pm flashbazbo:

Steveo. The thing that scares me is that fundraising is usually done in pairs in the wild
