wow - stuck in that twilight zone alternate comments board again...WT? Hey DK! RAWK!
Avatar 12:11pm Chris from DC:

Marrow, yes!
Avatar 12:12pm Polyus:

Yob somehow transcends that whole 'doom' tag and turns it into something so vast and euphoric. Just not another band who sounds like this.
Avatar 12:14pm Diane Kamikaze:

Hi All! Very excited to have Mike Scheidt on Peer Pressure today! He will be live at 1pm! I will try to get to whatever listener questions are posted!
Avatar 12:14pm Chris from DC:

Polyus, ust how I feel about this song.
  12:17pm goyim in the am:

I’d be interested in knowing if Mike’s relationship to music has changed at all since the illness (and we’re happy he’s healthy again!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Zats, missed already: Voivod! !! !!!
  12:18pm Schlockmaster:

Great opener, Diane!!!
Cheers from Southern Germany!
Avatar 12:19pm Luna:

V O I V O D ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Avatar 12:20pm Luna:

You've made my Thursday. Marrow is simply one of the greatest songs put on record.
Avatar 12:22pm Cheri Pi:

Today is a great day indeed
  12:24pm goyim in the am:

Damn, I cannot handle when these chords and harmonies cone in...
Avatar 12:26pm Polyus:

And touring with Bell Witch this summer too.
  12:26pm Adam West Coaster:

From right here next to Oregon, please allow me to pile on with excitement over Mike Scheidt’s appearance on the show today! We are really lucky to be so proximate to Mike and YOB!
Avatar 12:31pm Diane Kamikaze:

Yes you are, @AWC! Thanks everyone for tuning in!
Avatar 12:53pm Luna:

I'm so excited, but I have to go to a lunch meeting soon. SAD FACE. Thank you archived shows.

Avatar 12:56pm Polyus:

Up with Supporters!!!!!
  12:58pm Adam West Coaster:

I saw what I think was one of Mike Scheidt’s earliest solo acoustic shows (at Mississippi Studios in Portland) a few years back. It was quite beautifully eye opening to experience that side of his artistry as well.
  1:09pm Erik Hern:

  1:11pm Erik Hern:

Lumbar is a very ergonomically correct band
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm chris:

MRSA = Staph infection that is resistant to antibiotics and can also cause other problematic infections.
  1:12pm Adam West Coaster:

His candor is my favorite element of Mike Scheidt!
Avatar 1:12pm Cheri Pi:

Amazing story!! Thanks for letting us know Mike. I can TOTALLY relate to your hospital/surgery experience.
  1:13pm Adam West Coaster:

And, as Diane pointed out, his ability to tap into vulnerability.

Meghan had True Widow on her show in 2011 and they played this song live wfmu.org...
Avatar 1:42pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

True Widow is really awesome! Kinda like some of the artists on Grass Records, but darker. Kinda feels like 1997 or so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Michael 98145:

never heard this before.
  1:44pm Erik Hern:

Super good live, they've played brooklyn a couple of times in the past year.

Avatar 2:12pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Very weird to be hearing the show with it dark out... being about five time-zones to the right, for a few days. Couldn't stay away.

also: Sir Scheidt!
Avatar 2:17pm Cheri Pi:

Are you visiting thee Isthmus @Rev?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Michael 98145:

Savages : kexp.org...
Avatar 2:19pm Polyus:

Love Fay Milton's drumming. This track is a bit more straight ahead but she is super unique and really drives this band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Michael 98145:

great choice -
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Doobois:

Dang it. Missed True Widow. One of my favorites. But thanks all the same for playing it!
Avatar 2:24pm Chris from DC:

I think I remember Mike playing a Townes Van Zandt cover at a record store appearance here in DC a while back?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Doobois:

Oh, and thanks, Cheri Pi, for posting that link!
Avatar 2:26pm Rev. Turnip Druid:
