Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm efd:

glad I was able to do it! I'd hate to have missed the first show after the marathon.
  9:18pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

Are these all records tonight?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm efd:

nope, a mix of CDs and records so far
  9:19pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

This sounds new wave
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm fleep:

Greetings to the intrepid and the trepid.
Avatar 9:20pm Dano59:

that 10cc brought me back ... I like this here too, mr. DJ
  9:22pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

10cc deserves more credit. ELO gets too much attention in that genre.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm Uncle Michael:

ELO sold a bazillion more records
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm Zetti:

Good evening Evan and friends... luv 10cc.
  9:28pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

Yes they did and I bought them all, now for the third or forth time with each format change.
  9:39pm Theo in SharonCT:

Excellent show!
  9:41pm herb.nyc:

I saw Habibi some yrs back, opening for Redd Kross. And singer was on wnyc a wk or so ago, re being Iranian (and being American born?). It's nice to have wfmu back in regular mode (as I read Pogo comix, recommended by friend).
Avatar 9:46pm Andrew S:

lionel newmans "evan's theme" was cool but holds no candle to your own theme music ;)
Avatar 9:47pm Andrew S:

also i liked the ting tings song, the only other one i have heard by them i heard on another show on fmu, forget which one, maybe this one, but the song was "thats not my name" , lots of 'tude
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49pm efd:

you may well have heard that on my show, Andrew S - I've definitely played it before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm Kat in Chicago:

I was annoyed because I got stuck at work late, but then I remembered I could listen to EFD and I felt better.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm efd:

all the more reason I'm glad I successfully battled the snow!
  9:53pm Jeff formerly from Rahway:

This Dark Blue record is dark & delicious. Sounds like something my goth HS prom date would have dug in 1988.
Avatar 9:54pm Dano59:

Kat k'm with you, not in Chicago but on work tonight and the healing powers of radio
Avatar 9:55pm Dano59:

herb: Pogo & Krazy Kat are endlessly great.
  9:56pm medson:

@efd Great job on the drums at the Hoof and Mouth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm Kat in Chicago:

I can't believe NYC has snow. It was sunny and clear here. Cold though!
  9:56pm Warren:

Excellent show...listening in from Adelaide, Australia.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01pm efd:

Nice, thanks for saying hi Warren!
Kat, this is the 4th snowstorm this month. I for one have had enough.
medson, thanks, it was a lot of fun!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm tomasz.:

ooooh heavy '96 flashbacks
  10:05pm Jrome:

Isn't this song 6 underground?
  10:06pm Jrome:

Me Scuse! It corrected itself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm Kat in Chicago:

Yeah I lived in Manhattan when this was out... very specific flashbacks for me too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm fleep:

6 underground got such heavy rotation on KCRW back then. flashbacks indeed.
Avatar 10:07pm Dano59:

like it read your mind Jrome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Avatar 10:07pm Andrew S:

Its so weird that in Canada last 5 years, unless you are on the east coast, we get the tail end of snowstorms. Like if NYC is getting a 10 inch storm im thinking damn, we're in for 3 in a couple odf days as it tails out. but it stays on the ground longer here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm Kat in Chicago:

I'm nostalgic for that downtempo/trip-hop and lounge moment
Avatar 10:11pm Andrew S:

i missed a lot of marathon shows, who did efd pair up with?
  10:11pm Eddy in Australia:

Hi all. Still getting used to your Daylight Saving time (we don't switch for another week) so I'm an hour late to the EFD party.
  10:14pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

Evan would you ever play Haim?
  10:14pm Clay Pigeon:

Great songlist. Always thought Check Your Head was the Beastie's Best. Awesome drumming at the Thon! Jimmy Crespo forever.
Avatar 10:14pm Andrew S:

oh i see now, only a click of the button, i will have to put those in the catch up pile
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm efd:

hey Eddy! I guess it's been a while now, but still feels pretty new to me that we change back on the second weekend in March.
Andrew S, my co-hosts were Marty McSorley and Nate K
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm efd:

Claaaayyyyyyy!! Loved your song Sunday night!
Avatar 10:16pm Andrew S:

looks like fun shows evan, im always digging back. Will have to see what Clay was up to as well, that had to have been fun, he always is
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm efd:

Anthony, I haven't listened to enough Haim to definitively answer yes or no to that question.
  10:17pm Clay Pigeon:

Thanks, Ev! Always loved that mid/late Seger classic.
  10:18pm Eddy in Australia:

EFD: It's more that our changes don't sync up so I'm in an inbetween state.
Sorry guys, I thought Amanda Nazario was the star of the H&M!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm medson:

Hey Pidge
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm Matt Warwick:

Avatar 10:22pm Andrew S:

Avatar 10:23pm Andrew S:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm tomasz.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm efd:

They are from your neck of the woods, tomasz.

By which I mean Leeds. :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm tomasz.:

close enough!
Avatar 10:34pm Dano59:

After Stashu sang I was basically a puddle on the floor Clay.
Avatar 10:34pm Hoboken Jack:

Howdy EFD! Ooh I like this hurry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm efd:

more your neck than mine, at least
Avatar 10:34pm Andrew S:

wow some nice new power pop here, never heard of hurry
Avatar 10:35pm Dano59:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm efd:

  10:44pm Theo:

Avatar 10:44pm JakeGould:

Nice befuddled Muppet voice, Evan!
Avatar 10:44pm Hoboken Jack:

Enjoyed Will's solo album as well
Avatar 10:46pm Andrew S:

we like the talking
Avatar 10:48pm Dano59:

well, i think i only had wanderlust in that column : philly power pop band
Avatar 10:48pm Andrew S:

and dont forget re:bad company in the subject
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm Kat in Chicago:

Avatar 10:49pm Dano59:

me too Jack ... his solo work is kinda wacky. one of th first songs I rehearsed with a drummer was leanin' on bob
Avatar 10:49pm Hoboken Jack:

Any word on Painted Doll's Monty show being rescheduled?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm medson:

I really like this painted doll album
  10:50pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

What’s wrong with bad company save the fact that they were friends of Jimmy Page?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm efd:

oh I have no beef with Bad Company at all!
Avatar 10:51pm JakeGould:

Joe McGasko feels like makin’ love to your listener needs!
Avatar 10:52pm Dano59:

Bad Company were the successful end of Mott the Hoople
I interviewed Paul Rodgers once. His people sent me a T shirt I never wore
  10:52pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

Oh I have a problem. They should have stopped with Desolation Angels. That would have been perfect.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm efd:

haven't heard anything, Jack, but since 2 members of the touring lineup live on the west coast I think it's unlikely to happen in the near future, sadly.
Avatar 10:52pm Andrew S:

neither do I, wonderful band
Avatar 10:52pm JakeGould:

I only am joking. I really don’t want to force Joe into any situation he does not feel comfortable being in.
  10:54pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

Evan one last question then I will let you play records. How come there isn’t a prog rock show on WFMU?
Avatar 10:55pm Andrew S:

there are lots, it just croses over into everyones shows
Avatar 10:56pm JakeGould:

Lots of DJs play prog. There was an era in the station where there were lots of DJs playing prog. Now there isn’t. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm Kat in Chicago:

Outta here but will catch the last bit of show when I'm home. Thanks for the tunes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm tomasz.:

prog is distributed, not dedicated
  11:00pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

Whatever this is, It’s good. Female Fronted grunge prog?
Avatar 11:00pm Andrew S:

What does prog even mean really now anyway?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm tomasz.:

have you heard Stan's show though? you'd probably get a kick out of that.
  11:01pm Anthony from Jacksonville FLA:

When is Stan? I will download his last show.
11:10pm Michael from the Left Coast:

Pronounced doe-tee
11:11pm Michael from the Left Coast:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm medson:

Damn If I wasn't the biggest Soul Coughing fan in the 90's. Still love those albums
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Stan's groovy show is overnight Thursday / Friday morning 3-6AM. www.wfmu.org...
Avatar 11:15pm Dano59:

Mike, we've missed you in Ithaca Quite a run of solo shows there for a while.Think I only saw SC once, on a H.O.R.D.E. date
Avatar 11:16pm Dano59:

this is very B-52-ey
Avatar 11:16pm Andrew S:

Avatar 11:20pm Andrew S:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27pm efd:

I'm going to mention this in the next mic break but I saw them in NYC a couple of weeks ago and they were GREAT! Paul H was on my show a few years ago, came down and hung out for the whole night. Top-shelf gent indeed.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm efd:
