Options Brian Turner: Playlist from March 13, 2018 Options

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Ike:

On 91.1 FM, there was a very very brief cut-out in the sound while Fabio was talking just now. Maybe half a second or less. Was it his mic or the FM signal, I wonder?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Nate K.:

Good times, guys.

  4:30pm Marc15:

I like the Butthole Surfers song “Pepper” about a Suicide Club
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm The Oscar:

I've posted this around here before, but I caught one of the Butthole reunion shows maybe ten years ago. The set got cut short maybe halfway through when Gibby threw a beer bottle at the sound guy and got escorted off stage by security. As the crowd devolved into chaos, an older woman sauntered onstage and tried to get everyone to calm down. I didn't realize until reading about it later that that was Genesis P-Orridge!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm JFR:

this USA?Mexico is SICK
Swag For Life Member 4:35pm Ralphine:

The Jax are Back! Yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm dgg:

I saw the surfers at the Warsaw several years ago. it was great. though not quite Gibby dragged off stage great.
Avatar 4:37pm Brian Turner:

I was at that show haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm dgg:

"scum and unpleasantness" Fabio is the Travis Bickle of radio.
Avatar 4:51pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

nothing can contain this amount of yay.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Carmichael:

Fabio works well here because Brian never plays the music of filthy hippies.

Avatar 5:13pm Brian Turner:

that is fantastic hyde.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm BronwynB:

i said it when it originally aired and i'll say it again: russ sings that little "i'm sorry time's up" bit even better here than on the record.
Avatar 5:15pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Sparks - masters of the coda. Totally unmatched . See 'talent is an asset' or 'achoo' ...

hell, 'achoo' gets high marks for being the best musical application of the sneeze in human history.
Avatar 5:15pm dale:

that was really live? nuts!
  5:17pm Robert D:

Hi Brian! Have you set on my calendar so I never miss your show! How 'bout some Melvins for a Swag for Lifer?
