Avatar 3:51pm northguineahills:

@Wild Neil: I just made the pierogis like I would normal Polish ones, (Potato/onion), and add crema de Mexicana and crushed smoked chlis. I suppose I could use Mexican ingredients in the future.
  3:51pm Tony:

Northguineahills: What do you mean "just" make normal Polish pierogis? Are we supposed to know how to make pierogis? I wish I did. I buy them frozen sometimes.
Avatar 3:51pm TDK60:

That might be Lennon on the guitar.
Avatar 3:52pm Cecile:

Sikora Polish Grocery in Minneapolis has some ridiculously good pierogis. they get them from a Chicago company.
  3:53pm Tony:

And regarding Starbucks, I try to avoid the place too. But I just found that someone had left a Starbucks gift card in my mailbox at work, so I guess I will be going there soon.
Avatar 3:54pm Cecile:

I like coffee at coffee shops, but Starbucks coffee sucks. They do have OK food, though.
Avatar 3:54pm PEACE ALL from WN!:

Even real Poles usually just get frozen. It takes like FOUR HOURS to make pierogis. Its like making a thanksgiving meal, really ! Its really really really really hard!
Avatar 3:55pm northguineahills:

@Tony: Using frozen or refrigerated ones from a Polish deli (or from elsewhere) is just fine. I've been on a dumpling kick lately.

Trader Joe's has a Russian version that is called something else I can't remember, but it seemed similar to Pierogis. Those were good with onions and/or mushrooms and sour cream

Basso profundo
Avatar 4:29pm βrian:

Why aren't we hearing Ken's ring tones in the background?
  4:30pm P-90:

Music to Watch Girls By came from a jingle written for a Pepsi TV ad, which Bob Crewe heard and wrote a full-length arrangement of. In addition to the spoken-word version, Crewe issued an extended instrumental version on an album of "swingin' bachelor pad" music which was popular enough to go gold.

I had thought that Herb Alpert had a hit with "Music to Watch", but it's not mentioned in the song's Wikipedia page (link below). So I googled it, and it turns out that, for whatever reason, Alpert released it under the title "Music To Watch Girls Go By". Such a strange world, show biz.

Some lunch box company should offer a generic lunch box assembly and then sell kits where you wrap the outside and the thermos with custom prints. You can be Star Wars on Monday and David Bowie on Tuesday, for example. Sort of like all those cool cell phone covers for Nokia phones about twenty years ago.
