If Filthy Fingers were trumps what a hand you would have.
Sorry wrong game, ever played Pinochle?
Avatar 8:50am Sem:

Good morning, Bill, Brian. Moving underway, BiUK?
Avatar 8:53am Brian in UK:

Sem, more dithering. I was hoping to move w/c 12th March be in before Easter. Now not so sure.
We are in the starting blocks but the starters gun has gone missing. We will get there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00am Stanley:

Hey Scraps. How are you doing?
  9:03am Doug Schulkind:

Not working again, Bill?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04am Uncle Michael:

I heard a phasey loop!
Avatar 9:05am Bill Mac:

Same thing.... I even tested this at 730...
  9:05am Doug Schulkind:

Was that you saying “Can you hear anything”? I heard it, but the it repeated on loop with distortion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am Stanley:

Brian - I wondered what I'd sat in.
  9:06am Doug Schulkind:

Now the stream audio is distorting.
Avatar 9:06am Brian in UK:

It keeps sounding like it is trying to change over but cannot make it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am Scraps:

Up and down. Mostly down. Right now I’m up, till I’m down; depends on pain, minute by minute (by minute). How you, Brian in UK?
Avatar 9:07am Brian in UK:

Scraps, looking forward to Spring. first buds appearing, snowdrops etc.
  9:07am Doug Schulkind:

When you connect to the stream, do you have the stream playing as a source. That could cause feedback.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am Ken From Hyde Park:

I hear musical sounds.
  9:08am Doug Schulkind:

Just trying to trying to troubleshoot.
Avatar 9:09am Brian in UK:

On Pop Up it does not show what is playing now. It did about ten to the hour.
Avatar 9:10am Brian in UK:

At the track on now.

You are live!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Uncle Michael:

Just a matter of turning the volume all the way down on the player that you're using to visually monitor the stream. Happens to me sometimes at the start.

Avatar 9:23am Bill Mac:

It's a question that doesn't really have an answer for me, I'll explain at the break.
  9:26am Michael Cologne:

Surprise, surprise...Mr. Mac . Hello from Cologne after a long Time. What`s coming up today?
Avatar 9:29am Bill Mac:

Hey Michael, well aside from me going back to the basics of the mixing board, I think I have a pretty 'sound' selection picked for today. How's things in Cologne? How's the family?
  9:33am Michael Cologne:

The Familiy is in best condition. Myself too. Much work, but in the space between i have an Album on Tumbleweed records in the line. Bela is learning Bass Guitar and now 8 Years old. Good Times. Silver Apples, yes !

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am Stanley:

We're okay, no trips, it's hunker down cold boring January/February.

Avatar 9:54am Andy in Berlin:

@ Sem - I don't recall seeing rhubarb in the market lately but then I haven't really been looking. In other words, no idea. :) But then of course cherries are not in season, so...
Avatar 9:56am Sem:

Thanks, Andy. Just checking, we are getting the same volatile weather here as Bill mentions ^@9:51. The birds and plants are, how do you say, flummoxed by the changes.
Avatar 9:57am Jay/London:

@ bill yeah very odd weather we had some nice sun this morning but now overcast ..... 10c :)
Avatar 9:58am Jay/London:

and bill we had a earthquake last night
Avatar 9:59am Bill Mac:

Avatar 10:01am Brian in UK:

Bill will you be doing a turn at the Hoof 'n Mouth?
  10:03am Dean:

You're filling in for Jeff Golick, destination: OUT, this a.m. The fill-in for Uncle Michael will be in two Fridays...yes?
Avatar 10:08am Bill Mac:

That is correct Dean, as it works out that will be a studio A show - the Big Room
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am Scraps:

When I lived in the Lower East Side, I saw Railroad Jerk several times. Even though they were not my type of rock. They were great.
Avatar 10:11am Bill Mac:

@Brian I am happy to say i'll be there for the finale... always exciting to do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Scraps:

Or at least quasi-great...
Avatar 10:13am Bill Mac:

@Scraps in the beginning they seemed like a combination of blues and (dare I say it?) industrial. They mellowed before they disbanded. I liked them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am Stanley:

Digging this Spanish thing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am Uncle Michael:

Bill, you know the second best thing about you being there for HnM? You'll get to see ME perform.
Avatar 10:18am Bill Mac:

Always a treat! You are without a doubt the best dressed performer there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Uncle Michael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20am Rich in NC:

Hello Bill
Avatar 10:20am Bill Mac:

Me too... I spent some $$$ on my jacket last year
Avatar 10:21am Bill Mac:

Hey Rich!
Avatar 10:21am Bill Mac:

Hey Stanley, I was going to follow this with Yoko and maybe some Nina Hagen....
Avatar 10:22am Sem:

Haha, Bill. Run for it, Stanley!
Avatar 10:23am Bill Mac:

@Sem I try to run towards Diamanda, but I just don't get it.... I DO like that version of the song however.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am Ken From Hyde Park:

I had some buttermilk to use up, so figured some buttermilk pancakes are in order. The recipe called for adding melted butter into the mix of buttermilk, milk & eggs. The butter re-solidified and makes for some highly lumpy looking pancake batter.
Avatar 10:25am Brian in UK:

Uncle have you got the heliotrope suit ready?
Avatar 10:26am Sem:

Hand blender time, KfHP.
Avatar 10:27am Bill Mac:

Interesting Ken.... let us know how that works out.... getting hungry...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am Uncle Michael:

Brian, one day there will be heliotrope, without a doubt...but not this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am Stanley:

What, what?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am Uncle Michael:

Milk and eggs at room temp, next time, Ken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am Stanley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36am Scraps:

Every album I’ve tracked down by Ken Nordine is awesome. Well, at least weird.
Avatar 10:36am Sem:

Hiya, coel.
Avatar 10:36am Bill Mac:

Avatar 10:37am Brian in UK:

Bill. His Highness always has a place in this house. Could he toke it up too.
Avatar 10:38am coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39am Uncle Michael:

My hash was delicious, Bill.
Avatar 10:39am coelacanth∅:

boy i'm hungry
Avatar 10:40am Bill Mac:

You're talking about Mr Nordine - first I thought you were referring to UM in the heliotrope suit.

I like it Mike... start working on those plans
Avatar 10:44am Brian in UK:

Bill I was
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am Stanley:

Slipped the ol' Roxy Music in there, nicely Bill.
Avatar 10:46am Bill Mac:

Country Life, my fave Roxy... I dated the cover of that album for a year...
  10:47am Dean:

Armand Schaubroeck takes me back to the late '70s. Were the ads regular appearances in Trouser Press or Back Door Man?
Avatar 10:47am coelacanth∅:

- i forget about that roxy album.
Avatar 10:48am coelacanth∅:

(which is weirder yet because i have a collection of tributes/alternates to that cover)
  10:49am Dean:

Roxy Music had an alternate to that cover. I suspect Mr. Mac dated the original.
  10:50am Dean:

Either that, or he has a thing for evergreens.
Avatar 10:50am Bill Mac:

There was another release where they covered the original with green shrinkwrap
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am Scraps:

Aw, TV Personalities!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am Uncle Michael:

If Bill dated the original, I want to hear stories.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am Asheville Jon:

hey Uncle Michael, how's it going? do you put ketchup on your hash?
Avatar 10:54am Bill Mac:

Armand Schaubroeck seemed to be mentioned in the same breath as Lou Reed back in the day. I used to catch him in Rock Scene magazine along with all the up & coming mid 70s NYC bands

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am Uncle Michael:

Some California Facebook friends and at least one FMU luminary participated in last night's sold out Wild Honey benefit in L.A. This year it was a Buffalo Springfield tribute and Richie Furay participated. Mickey Dolenz did too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am Stanley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am Uncle Michael:

Jon, no ketchup. A soupçon of Tabasco...
  10:58am Dean:

That's a story for the ages, Stanley. Wow, JH's birthday touches mine.

Gearing up for a ham and sausage jambalaya. With shrimp.
Avatar 10:58am Bill Mac:

@Stanley... it wasn't a picture? Seems like more than a few guys were getting more than smooches from Ms Hall
But there's a story I want to hear. how'd that happen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am Asheville Jon:

Sounds tasty UM. i do hope you put an egg on the top though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01am Scraps:

Dan Treacy of TV Personalities was a master at song titles. I remember on that album I Was a Mod Before You Was a Mod a awesome song called “Things Have Changed Since I Was a Girl”, for instance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am Uncle Michael:

Yes, Jon...fried today, poached when I make an effort.

  11:14am Dean:

Heard Budgie at the Whisky long ago. Opening act was Mary Monday...I think.
Avatar 11:15am northguineahills:

I only do potato pancakes, prefer the savory to sweet.
Avatar 11:15am coelacanth∅:

wasn't a member of siouxsie and the banchees called budgie?
Avatar 11:16am glenn:

budgie was the drummer.
Avatar 11:16am Bill Mac:

@Dean Mary Monday were they a punk band? Never got to see Budgie in the states. I know they toured here a few times
  11:16am Dean:

Yes, no relation.

Hmmm, coulda been Johnny Cougar opening. Maybe he opened for The Jam. A blur.
  11:17am Dean:

Mary Monday was a second wave (by my lights) punk-ish band led by eponymous vocalist.
Avatar 11:17am coelacanth∅:

scorpion, speaking of controversial album covers.
  11:18am Dean:

I had that cover. And then I unloaded it. Not sure how I feel about that.
Avatar 11:19am Bill Mac:

@CC Mmm-hmmm at least a couple, one way more that the others.
Avatar 11:19am northguineahills:

Although when the missus is around, I make regular pancakes and serve agave and maple syrup (she loves pancakes for breakfast).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am Ken From Hyde Park:

Whist was pretty popular in my home town. We learned it in eighth grade, I believe. Relatives would play a few hands after Thanksgiving and holidays. Dad would go to whist tournaments during the winter. One time, some oaf stole his hat and he quit going.
  11:20am Dean:

Virgin Killer was way beyond acceptable.
Avatar 11:20am coelacanth∅:

i was not even slightly into "metal" when that stuff was new. i heard about that cover though.
  11:21am Dean:

At the time I adore the Scorpions, had everything up to the double live album.
Avatar 11:22am coelacanth∅:

yeah it's pretty fucked up. maybe she was older just looked young?
  11:22am Dean:

Still like them, but all I have now is the track on the Brain box. Dumb me.
Avatar 11:22am Bill Mac:

I got Lonesome Crow at the comic book store for 2 bucks, but I didn't care for it back then - too 'dark' or something.
  11:24am Dean:

Lonesome Crow was an outlier, for sure. My go-to was "Speedy's Coming," opening track on Fly to the Rainbow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Stanley:

Bill - my story:
NO WAY was it a picture (unlike you and the cover of Country Life). My uncle made the video for 'The Price of Love', which Jerry was in, and invited me to the final edit when B and J were there. From what I remember, Bryan was quiet, even a bit shy, it was Jerry who had me transfixed. Seventeen years old, free drinks, excited and just as nervous, sitting next to her I was in another world. When it came to autographs time and as Jerry was signing her name on my concert program, my uncle said something like, we'll this'll be a story to tell your friends when you get home, Stanley and to my utter astonishment I replied sure, but it would be even better if I could say I kissed Jerry Hall and the lovely girl happily obliged. The rest is history.........
Avatar 11:26am Bill Mac:

You dawg you! That's awesome!
Avatar 11:26am coelacanth∅:

good story!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Stanley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am Uncle Michael:

On Sunday 18 June members of Oxford's exclusive drinking society the Bullingdon Club attempted to take their annual photograph on the steps of Christ Church. After students protested, they were escorted off the college grounds by porters. Footage obtained by Cherwell shows the Bullingdon members leave the college to the sound of the Benny Hill theme.
