Heya Pseu and hookees.

@SSS, yes it would have been, except Lennon MURDERED Nilsson!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Itzall Ablurr:

I'm gonna' have to buy that Yusef LP. This is the second time this week I've heard another song from it. He's even better than Cat Stevens in my opinion, though a bit derivative...

I think Beck is really talented but I find his work overproduced for my taste. Just saying.

  12:58pm Ochre Ogre:

OMG!! Thank you Pseu for playing Godstar, I've been trying to get info on this song and band since the mid 90's while listening I taped a snippet of it!!! Don't know who was DJ'ing. Almost 20 year mystery song solved.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Krys O.:

Ooh, thanks for playing Steve Martin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Krys O.:

His song Love Songs in the Night is a killer.
  1:02pm brainiac:

There was practically no banjo in that number.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Kat in Chicago:

did a kink die? there was a ton of kinks on the radio the other day. (local to me)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Hughie Considine:

@ochre I had a similar taped mystery song that ended up being by WFMU DJ Jim Price. Took a lot of work to ID, including emails to Bob Brainen. In the end, Bob played my MP3 and a listener piped up with the source.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Krys O.:

@Sue: It was Dave Davies' birthday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Krys O.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Krys O.:

I agree with Blair. Pseu is a fantastic dj.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Doobois:

And blair doing deliveries is a fantastic nom de plume!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Hughie Considine:

@Krys O: It was the extremely dreamy "Dreaming."
Avatar 1:42pm JakeGould:

Blair, what are you delivering?
  1:43pm Ochre Ogre:

@david from ks Yes i've heard, the future looks bleak, hot and dry.
How is it Nestle is allowed to own more then half the worlds water sources... money power M'fuckers!
  1:43pm blair doing deliveries:

while I'm at it I might as well say I love everyone who listens to wfmu have a good 1 ppl
  1:43pm andrew:

greenday;s last good album
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Krys O.:

Oh, that is a wonderful song, Hughie. It's on the first All My Children cassette compilation of WFMU dj songs, I think. My memory is Swiss cheese though.
Avatar 1:44pm James in ATL:

Great song - Thanks Pseu!
  1:44pm blair doing deliveries:

it varies but mostly stuff from printing presses, sometimes $10,000+ porcelain to Lladro lol
  1:45pm Ajax:

Thanks for the playing the Wrong Words! Always a thrill to tune into your favorite station and hear your own record!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Hughie Considine:

Wow, @Krys O, a true Jim Price fan. Swiss Cheese is a fine fine thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Krys O.:

Jim's a longtime pal and I'm a fan of his music.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Krys O.:

Microfiber cloth'll take care of that for ya.
Avatar 1:54pm JakeGould:

Wipe your glasses with Nivea cream to clear them up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Hughie Considine:

Boursin is a tough stain though.
Avatar 1:55pm JakeGould:

Then clean that Nivea off with Jean Nate or witch hazel.
  1:56pm Ochre Ogre:

@Hughie C- Ha cool, yeah i didn't really do the work. Was gonna call the station and play the song snippet to different dj's but never did. And damn it's actually been more then 20 years, i wasn't familiar with PTV back then.
Avatar 1:58pm dan in wisconsin:

Yeah, hearing the Pixies on a Walmart commercial was kind of strange. Also PTV on a car commercial, Roman P, I believe...Very odd.
  1:59pm Ochre Ogre:

Swiss cheese on a blt, NOT melted!
  1:59pm Ajax:

Wooo thanks for saying my name on-air! I play the bass for the Wrong Words - GO 'FMU GO!

Coal is Cool! Stay in School!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Hughie Considine:

@Ochre Ogre: It was a fun search, and kind of amazing that after all the digging, it all led back to WFMU.
Avatar 2:04pm TDK60:

And nukes is the "new" what?
  2:04pm Ochre Ogre:

Been waiting for a Syd Barrett, Sex Pistols, PIL, Television... song on a commercial, then i'll have a hissy fit AND lay an egg.
  2:05pm Ochre Ogre:

OH, or The FALL!!!
Avatar 2:06pm JakeGould:

They are getting rid of fallout shelter signs in NYC because city official believe that they will be taken seriously in the event of a nuke attack and you would just end up in the digusting basement of your building instead of some place you might survive.
  2:07pm herb.nyc:

Pseu said "oil, the new green...". Not related but still kinda, I clipped out a multipage Oakley ad and it extols their "inspired innovation...obsessive drive...world made better" goodness. Let's buy their stock and save Wall Street.
Avatar 2:08pm JakeGould:

Pseu is a cool person. I like her!
  2:08pm david from ks:

  2:09pm SeanG:

  2:10pm melinda:

Nice to hear P Snow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm The Oscar:

I've mostly made peace with songs I like in ads, but Gang of Four for X-Box was pretty jarring. Also there was a car ad a year or two ago that seamlessly edited out the guitar solo in "Search and Destroy" that gave me whiplash every single time.
Avatar 2:11pm TDK60:

Phoebe Snow does Macca.
Avatar 2:11pm dan in wisconsin:

"Hip Priest" by the Fall was famously used in one of Buffalo Bill's basement scenes in The Silence of the Lambs. "Goodbye Horses" is such a good song. Kinda strange that it will always be associated with that film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Hughie Considine:

I like how Phoebe Snow singing 'lamppost' reminds me of Paul Simon, the only other person to use 'lamppost' in a song that i know of, and who duetted with Phoebe on "Gone at Last." I can see why he is retiring.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm The Oscar:

@dan I'm probably in the minority, but I find I associate "American Girl" with SotL just as much as "Hip Priest" or "Goodbye Horses."
  2:13pm Ochre Ogre:

My other "mystery" song was the guy singing about structuring his life like Mondrian (painting). Also mid-early 90's... Pseu.... Anybody??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Hughie Considine:

Sounds like something Michael Penn would say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Krys O.:

Avatar 2:17pm TDK60:

Al K. My fave album of his is Blues Project's "Projections" - '66. Not bad organ either on Dylan's "Rolling Stone."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Krys O.:

I saw Al Kooper a couple of times at B.B. King's. He's incredibly talented and funny as hell.
  2:26pm Ochre Ogre:

@Krys O- Damn ughh subway, and even walking near one literally stinks.
  2:32pm david from ks:

@Ochre Ochre : You are the only person Who has ackwowleged the water situation anywhere and everywhere! thank You so much. I for One am concerned about the situation. NO WATER - NO LIVE! The city I live in used to dump kerosene cleaned asphalt dump trucks through a water drain that emptied into an offshoot (creek) of the Arkansas River in 1992- 1995 when I was a city employee Who reported the ongoing situation. It did not stop until the city became "environmentally conscious" in 2004. Hutchinson,KS. and the words environmentally aware are direct opposites. JOKER CITY GOVERNMENT.
Avatar 2:35pm TDK60:

I love Eric Matthews' tune "Festival Fun."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Yeah, most people in this country just turn on the tap and expect as much clean water they can ever dream of to come pouring out. Much of the rest of the world is not so lucky. Shame on EPA director Scott Pruitt on what he's doing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Krys O.:

Where I live in NJ, we get regular notices warning us about the quality of the water. There was even an e coli outbreak a couple of years ago.
Avatar 2:44pm JakeGould:

@DavidFromKS: Why are you warning us about crappy water on lots of playlists here?
Avatar 2:46pm TDK60:

Because H2O is life? Why not!
  2:47pm SeanG:

  2:49pm Bill in W.O.:

Love Blue Chair. Thanks, Pseu. Fun show today.
