Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 12:35pm Tony Coulter:

@ Dean: Don't know Advent, no.
  Tue. 2/6/18 12:36pm Dean:

My buddy who created his own language and now composes prog tunes for it turned me on to them. They're a Gentle Giant tribute band of sorts, though not a copy band. Per one YT post, "If you enjoy some light music with flute, acoustic guitar and Canterbury style music where jazzy passages that could remind us[of] the more modern band Nathan Mahl, you will enjoy this."

  Tue. 2/6/18 1:02pm Dean:

Warlus? Really? Or, perhaps, Walrus?
Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 1:03pm Tony Coulter:

Nope! They really are called Warlus. They're French, so perhaps they don't know how to spell Walrus.
  Tue. 2/6/18 1:03pm Dean:

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, Semiramis
  Tue. 2/6/18 1:04pm ?:

Well, whaddya know? "Warlus is a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France... The name of Warlus may have its origins in the name of an early bishop. Other sources say it comes from the Anglo-Saxon war(store or watch) and lux (light). In the 12th century, there was once a high tower which may have been used as a beacon during wartime."

Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 1:21pm Tony Coulter:

Yes!
  Tue. 2/6/18 1:23pm Psychspaniolos:

This is very beautiful
Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 1:23pm Tony Coulter:

Agreed! I need to find a better-condition copy of this LP.
Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 1:26pm Tony Coulter:

The Danko of Atkinson, Danko and Ford (on now) is Terry Danko, borther (cousin?) of Rick Danko -- so this band is allowed to sound exactly like The Band.
  Tue. 2/6/18 1:26pm Dean:

The first few measures had a Kevin Ayers-ish thing going on, too.
Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 1:26pm Tony Coulter:

er, "brother" -- why do I borther....
  Tue. 2/6/18 1:28pm Psychspaniolos:

"Love Song" also is beautiful too

Actually, Rich, you were righter than you know: In the Scottish town of Coulter, where my fore-Coulters come from, Coulter is pronounced "Couter" (cooter).
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 2/6/18 1:36pm northguineahills:

I realized I've never listened to these Neil lyrics....
  Tue. 2/6/18 1:36pm Dean:

Kinda nice that the Wheaton administration let them keep the "feel like getting high" lyrics.
Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 1:37pm Tony Coulter:

Todd & Jeff
Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 1:41pm Tony Coulter:

The Knight in Blue Armour LP (on now) was a tax-scam release, so the one thing that's almost certain is that the group that recorded this track wasn't really the Tarots. Johnny Kitchen was behind this, btw.
Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 1:43pm Tony Coulter:

@ Psychspaniolos: The Todd and Jeff LP is really good -- that one's definitely going into my permanent, upstairs collection.

i've given up on the binary codes; 001100111100011001011100 is ASCII for "3Æ\", but i'm not sure what that might mean, if it's even what's intended.
Avatar Tue. 2/6/18 2:38pm Tony Coulter:

I'm guessing they were just going for a name that's perversely hard to grasp.
  Tue. 2/6/18 2:38pm Dean:

I tried reversing the binary sequence. Still not meaningful.

The words tohu and bohu also occur at Isaiah 34:11, which the King James Version translates with the words "confusion" and "emptiness".
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/6/18 2:51pm Rich in Washington:

adding to my key confusion is I've just slipped on one of those rubber keyboard covers that has all the spiffy shortcuts for my editing software but in all actuality is really to protect it from all my coffee spills.
