"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

the goal of the JA in the AM intro is not disimilar to the JM in the AM theme. Wait, come back everyone
  9:29am billyiswilliam:

Loving this jammy track
  9:37am 1 more thing:

Styxhexenhammer 666 name is thoroughly incorrect politically but thoroughly untouchable by the WEIRD pc crowd
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am steveo:

If I'm enjoying the music but don't say anything, does the dj shrivel into a crispy husk?
  9:46am heavy militarized zone:

I guess the MEMO IS being released today !
Avatar 9:46am Polyus:

Okay so Ka Baird did her thing at Drone Not Drones last Saturday. . .not bad (disclaimer: I am not a big Spires fan), but I think her time slot was a little to long, which meant a lot of running back and forth doing different things that didn't seem to fit together.
Avatar 9:51am CeeDubbles:

and now a flashback to working midnight-0800 shifts in a patrol car, listening to alternative radio and monitoring the radio - never a call for me
  9:52am Dave in a cave:

Loving nick Klein right now. Blumin has played his stuff too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am Booz:

Saw Ka Baird open for Circuit des Yeux recently - she played a perfectly constructed (short) set - organic, passionate, with exquisite timing. Maybe compression is her thing.
Avatar 9:57am Polyus:

True enough, Booz. Compression should be most everyone's thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am steveo:

I once listened to a guy mashing an organ keyboard for one hour. I guess that was a kind of compression.
  10:02am hats off to u:

I got the School Daze album as a marathon prize last year but forgot that it was porn music until I opened it and saw the movie stills inside. The text is quite funny.
Avatar 10:15am TDK60:

Robert Fripp-sounding guitar on that last cut. // Hey, is this my 1st time commenting here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18am George of Troy:

As I recall, Pinhas was/is a big fan of King Crimson and Mr. Fripp.
Avatar 10:19am TDK60:

Oh, it's the guy from Heldon -- that connects it.

It's charming that you say Bryce will show up at noon.
Like he'd actually be on time.
Avatar 10:41am John Allen:

bryce at noon has only one implication
Avatar 10:46am Polyus:

He slept on the subway again?
Avatar 10:48am Lixiviated Life:

bryce at noon indicates bryce at 1200 hours.
allow me to suggest: "bryce later today"
Avatar 10:49am Lixiviated Life:

or you can continue to play andrew hill and no one will care when bryce appears

Avatar 11:30am Lixiviated Life:

What? bryce will be late?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am steveo:

he's lying about the tire; he's pulled over bawling due to that song
Avatar 11:31am JakeGould:

Bryce is just late because.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am ⓔⓘⓚ:

Bryce has tires?!?! Should've rode a giant flounder down the Passaic River.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am Ken From Hyde Park:

Bryce should record the ssssssss of his tire deflating and he can play it when he arrives.
  11:31am Ben Abs:

Great show, really enjoyed the Scott Fagen track, thanks!
  11:33am Ugly Fat and Crabby:

WFMU gets a nod from cartoonist Carol Lay in her "Lay Lines" strip on Friday, February 2, 2018. It's on GoComics: http://www.gocomics.com/lay-lines /2018/02/02
Avatar 11:37am JakeGould:

@UglyFatandCrabby: Cool! Let Ken know about that. Also, that sweatshirt in the comic is inaccurate since it clearly just says “WFMU.” That’s not a normal way of branding the station.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am steveo:

"Shirt U Want"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Booz:

Hooray for good ol' Carol Lay
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am steveo:
