A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Are you familiar with Elizabeth Catlett’s work? An African American printmaker/sculptor who worked with the TGP in Mexico. She’s amazing. There’s a
Exhibition of some of her sculptures in Chelsea, check em out if you have the time

Title suggestion: "_Something something_ Out of This World"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am (Murakami Whywolf))):

There has to be some play on that rich fat-man's schändlich remark of last week, but 0.) all of which I can yet think is a play on the positive slangs 'really great shit' or 'this is the shit', and 1.) I know we'd probably want to avoid that word in the title anyway.

also, MG, your avatar/spirit animal is rotten

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am Kerbo:

Awesome music this morning. thanks trouble
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07am (((Murakami Whywolf):

Well, I thought of something similar, but it still leaves them as 'shit-hole countries' without attacking the characterisation, which is why I was trying to deturn the meaning of 'shit'. Like pretty much everything That Man touches, it might just be irredeemable.

Joe Battan's music was a staple at the hooky parties of my youth

We've got a latin soul musician here in my small town in Michigan, Benny Poole. He recorded with a lot of Detroit jazz guys.

@aaronfromMI: From Jackson? How's Ted Nugent? (Hee.)
Avatar 10:29am aaronfromMI:

yessir, we don't see him around so much any more. His kids are around still. Ted's wife was really friendly but I don't think I know anyone who met Ted who liked him.
Avatar 10:33am Polyus:

I thought he packed up and moved somewhere like Texas a long time ago?
  10:35am Magnolia Warbler:

Really loving Joe Bataan! Such great music and stories. Thanks Joe and thanks Trouble! I'm dancing 'round the room now.
Avatar 10:36am aaronfromMI:

I believe he still owns property in Concord, MI and occasionally uses it for hunting. For the record, Jackson has had cooler musicians that have lived around here, like George Clinton for a while.
Avatar 10:38am Polyus:

I'd have probably ended up being raised in Jackson, had my pop not been transferred all over the state for work. It's where my parents first lived when got married.
Avatar 10:40am βrian:

I was once given a ride by a prison guard while hitchhiking near Jackson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am Aaron Working In Newark:

Great Song!!!
Avatar 10:44am aaronfromMI:

It's not a terrible place, just an awful one. Jackson is a nice place to be from, but not a nice place to live (currently). Something about the grit and boredom helps to shape a person. It's really cheap! We pay $450/month for a huge 1 bedroom apartment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am Itzall Ablurr:

UNGAUA!!! That's what I always announce when going to lunch. Now I will add "Yo MAMA!" Great show today, Missy T.
  10:53am Magnolia Warbler:

Ungaua! Great, wild song!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am Lewis:

apologies for ignorance, but where does BioRitMo fit into the constellation you have in the studio?

In case Amazon chooses Jersey City for their new headquarters, I wonder if that will affect traffic patterns along Montgomery Street.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am MD:

STRONGER TOGETHER!!! the racist Whitehous Squatter wants to divide us...JUST SAY NO!!!!
Avatar 11:34am glenn:

when is that amazon announcement coming? i personally think it'll be either detroit / windsor or toronto.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am melinda:

I'm glad my city is not large enough to be an Amazon candidate.
  11:37am Dean:

Any cities in Brazil in the running? I mean, duh.
Avatar 11:38am aaronfromMI:

Poor Detroit, I'm sure they would move there for basically free, won't have to pay taxes forever, and probably won't hire very many Detroiters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am steveo:

thanks Joe & Jonathan & Trouble -- I'm enjoying what I'm hearing today!
Avatar 11:50am Trouble:

thanks for sitting in this morning! so much fun!
