  3:06pm Keith from Oregon:

I'm pretty sure Zorak isn't a sexual predator. Don't know about those other guys.
Avatar 3:07pm βrian:

I get Specter, Conyers, Weinstein, Santa, and Bozo. Who are the others?
Avatar 3:07pm βrian:

Ok, never heard of Zorak. Thanks.
Avatar 3:08pm glenn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm Ike:

I'm sure it's a total coincidence that no Republican predators are represented in that grid. Unless Santa Claus is one. Does he brutally suppress the elves' and reindeers' unionizing attempts?
  3:35pm Dean:

Tancred, subject of more than a couple musical works, as well as novels. Longstanding family name extending back to the Crusades. Great band name, too!

  4:44pm Lyle:

Pete Jolly, there's a story. Hadn't thought of poor Pete in a while, not since I saw that he had passed in '04. Sitting here now, it's hard to imagine the relatively young men we were in 1975, when we both were temporarily with the Kitty Carlisle Comedy Caravan. Kitty was a gas to work with, and there were other greats on that brief tour of the northern tier of states. Arlene Galonka, Peggy Cass, Fanny Flagg, and Coy Byner (John's brother) were part of that traveling troop of funny folks. Pete Jolly and I were in a small support ensemble that backed the comedians with various fanfares, instrumental accents, flourishes, sound effects, catcalls, and individual theme songs for each artist. The think I remember about Pete was his penchant for tapioca. It wasn't easy to find on the road, but Pete had a skill for ferreting it out, no matter where we were. I recall he woke me up one night in my room at a Motel 6, I believe we were in Pembina, ND. "Taste THIS," he said, shoveling a spoonful of warm tapioca into my mouth before I could get my slippers on. Of course, it was delicious, and Pete was pleased and proud to have found good tapioca in such a far flung locale. Not long after, we parted ways. Pete took up with Dick Contino and I (as I recall) hooked up with Pat Suzuki for a quick 9-date run through Manitoba. Life was sweet then, and Pete made it extra Jolly, indeed.
  4:46pm brainiac:

That wasn't tapioca.
Avatar 4:47pm glenn:

Avatar 4:47pm Irwin:

LYLE, you're WOKE! I mean ... awake.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm chris:

hi, Lyle! good ole tapioca Pete. RIP.
Avatar 4:48pm AnAnonymousParty:

I already like this, just for the guitar.
Avatar 4:48pm V Priceless:

Hey Lyle! So what you're saying is, you guys would go on a junket for tapioca? ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Pembina is where they found GWAR's Dave Brockie dead on their tour bus in 2014.
  4:48pm mum mark:

ah damn that Born To Run dude's voice sounded soooo
  4:49pm Lyle:

Sure am, Irwin, and I do so enjoy your wonderful program. Happy Holidays to you and your listeners, and all the best in the year ahead. I may just have a few more old stories to share in the months ahead.
Avatar 4:50pm TehBadDr:

  5:30pm brainiac:

Was that the Old Codger coming out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm dale:

hi irwin. i sent you a link (through fb) of a ken nordine christmas record he did for an electrical products company in the 50s. i thought it was fun if you never heard it but you probably have it on 45.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm dale:

....and is larry harmon/bozo a pervert?
Avatar 5:41pm Irwin:

Larry Harmon was one litigious SOB, going after anyone who created any clown character with the slightest whiff of Bozo, or anyone even wearing a goddamn Bozo costume on TV. One of the funniest emails I ever received from my friend Don Brockway was also one of the shortest. Sent in July 2008, the subject line was: "Good news about Bozo." In the body of the message was simply a URL—which linked to an Associated Press obit for Larry Harmon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm dale:

"whiff of bozo" - heh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm BronwynB:

incidentally, that's also the name of my new eau de cologne
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Michael 98145:

[ went to an art event once with a cowboy and Bozo theme. the motto was "I always wanted to be a cowboy, but my culture made me a Bozo instead." ]
[ guess you had to be there ... ]
  5:47pm JayD:

Irwin, just wanted to say your show is exactly what I want to hear right now. Music for gracious living. Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Michael 98145:

thanks again, Irwin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm dale:

wiki says he was married four times - everybody loves a clown.
  5:54pm Brendan:

Irwin your show has a great vibe . I thought I would miss the Joe Frank (get better Joe) or the music factory, but it’s just you, getting it done man. From the cool understated jazz, to the infectious rhythms, and everything in between , back announced in velvety tones. All very inviting like a warm friendly bar on the winter evening. Merry Christmas and thanks for a great year of countless shows of the same quality.
  5:54pm berbo:

I decided to look up the "cram it, clown" story that my friend told me back in the 70's. Because it is 2017 and I can do that.
Snopes says it is probably an urban myth.
"Larry Harmon has some credibility issues, however."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Michael 98145:

what Brendan just said
Avatar 5:56pm Irwin:

Thanks to all for lending ears to the festivities.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm dale:

i miss beware of the blog - need more stories like those about steve allen's toupee and specific instruction on how to handle it.
