This sounds like Mike Heron Oblivion... Been liking what I've heard so far from them....

@Steve: My pleasure, Steve.

Okay, better late than never.
  12:35am rw:

Working on photos. Listening to the radio. Nice set so far (but that's par for the course)! Thanks, man!

Avatar 12:42am franny:

I always listen to this show archived because I am in San Francisco.
Avatar 12:44am Jeff Conklin:

@franny: But I'm on the perfect time in Cali!
  12:44am zenkoan:

downright sublime, this piece. Can't wait to check out more of it
Avatar 12:46am franny:

No - I go to bed early. Tonight I'm being a rockstar.
  12:52am rw:

Jeff, if you ever do move to LA you're going to have to stop using the term Cali.
Avatar 12:53am blankemon:

im in the right frame of mind for this right now. No, I'm sober..just tired and a bit wrung out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53am sberger:

Evening/morning Jeff et al...FWIW I'm in Oakland, usually listen to the 1st set live, then the rest of the show on Monday morning w/ coffee. Great way to start the week.
Avatar 12:56am franny:

@sberger that is exactly my plan of action for tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56am Ricky:

Hellooo friends!

  12:59am rw:

Speaking of archives, I played the Ghetto archive from last week in my friend Dave's backyard last night. It sounded great there!
Avatar 1:04am franny:

Things get crazy on the comment board. Abbreviation wise.

  1:05am rw:

  1:13am Eiderdown:

Good morning Jeff! What’s up, everybody?
  1:13am MONEYBAG$:

Doesn't get better than December 73
Avatar 1:14am Jeff Conklin:

Hey Adam.

Whoops, I was a few days off initially on the date. This is from the first night of that run...
  1:20am MONEYBAG$:

It was already December 1st somewhere when they played this
  1:34am Agent Peter:

the size of a squirrel?
  1:38am Mark R:

Jeff, thanks for turning me on to the wonderful world of the Dead '73, which I didn't know much about, probably because I was only 14 and too young to go to Dead shows yet, and if I remember correctly, they didn't release any commercial albums in '73, did they?
  1:40am MONEYBAG$:

Wake of the Flood had just come out
  1:41am Mark R:

Oh that's right!
  1:51am Mike tp:

I've been seeing all this Dead from years past!I seen them at William Paterson college Wayne NJ around 71? late show.they played an hour and poofff the show was over.often wondered if they were told to shut it down due to curfew.
  1:55am MONEYBAG$:

Here is a story about it..? http://deadsources.blogspot.com/2017/03/october-11-1970-paterson-state-college.html
  2:03am Mark R:

Most New Yorkers hate the Red Sox and Pats.
Avatar 2:04am blankemon:

he was just a blue eyed boston boy
  2:05am J:

I live in LA but I'm from Boston. It's pretty lame now, but a lot of great music has come out of that town over the years. Used to be far more liveable. Now it's just bland and expensive.
Avatar 2:07am Jeff Conklin:

@J: Same can be said for a lot of places...
  2:09am rw:

  2:12am Mike tp:

Moneybags thank you!!
  2:12am rw:

Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
  2:12am J:

Yup. Boston has been going down the drain in this particular fashion for years though. Oppressive development in tight spaces. NY too.
Avatar 2:13am terribilia:

this song is insanely beautiful
  2:14am Mark R:

Yikes, rw. The combination of two of the most despised (and loved) bands of our generation. I'd jump out the window if I had to listen to that shit.
  2:19am Mark R:

Goddamn, I love Robbie Basho. I admit I never heard of him til a couple years ago. Thank you Jeff and WFMU for educating my ignorant ass.
  2:20am rw:

Yeah, like I said. Sorry.
  2:20am Grant:

Listening from Dunedin, NZ, Monday evening here. Really enjoying it.
Avatar 2:28am Jeff Conklin:

@Grant: Right on!
  2:29am Stefan:

Good morning Jeff, finally tuning in again during the show. Enjoyed very much your Richard Thompson's Small Town Romance run during the he last couple of shows. (Recommend "Strict Tempo", which is totally different & would go nicely with Grossmann / Renbourn right now). Thanks for the shows.
  2:37am rw:

Hate to leave but it's time. Thanks again Mr. Conklin. Particularly nice show tonight. Good night all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39am Guido from Cologne:

Beautiful show Jeff!
Listened to the last two hours.
  2:39am zzzzzzz:

Tonight felt like a beautiful journey to a far away land, full of magic and wonder. Thanks for another great show Jeff. Time for sleep...Goodnight all
  2:40am Mark R:

Loved the segue from the acoustic guitar magic of Grossman & Renbourn to this beautiful African singing. Wow.
Avatar 2:41am Jeff Conklin:

Thanks, rw, be well out there in CALI

Night, zzzzz
Avatar 2:41am Sed:

Nice music, slightly reminds me of Tinariwen
Avatar 2:42am Jeff Conklin:

@Stefan: Thanks. Small Town Romance is now (and probably forever will be) my favorite RT album.
  2:43am Stefan:

Avatar 2:44am future transport:

repetitious yet compelling
Avatar 3:00am Jeff Conklin:

Thanks for listening, all. Have a great week...
  11:26am Dallas:

Hey Jeff, regular archive listener from Cambridge, MA here, Boston is cool, come hang sometime!
Avatar 10:35pm jaywbabcock:

Beautiful show, Jeff. The Olden Yolk and new Steven R Smith stuff were new to me, and really registered. Right on
