"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

TGIF all....
Avatar 9:08am Davee:

You said it, what a week it has been from work to the killings.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am Threemoons:

@Davee: Tell me about it. Between missing work for Mom's cancer stuff and having a new batch of people at the temp slave galleys interfering with my chair/station in my absence...very tempted to blow off after only 6 hours at work (we have to take mandatory lunch after that) and start the weekend a bit early to catch up on my own stuff. Apartment looks like it was robbed and I'm finding things in the fridge that have evolved to the point of having a bicameral system of government....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am Threemoons:

And yes, I second @Davee RE some NOMI. Maybe "Ding Dong" or "Falling in Love Again?"
  9:15am Warwick joe:

I’m ready for JA to soundtrack this humid fall bright NY day. Weird weather.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am Devin B.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hello, JA and JAmmers! According to TV commercials, I'm apparently supposed to run off and start Christmas shopping now. Nuts to that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am George of Troy:

Hello, John Allen, and JA in the AM folk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32am Ike:

"I do not like to bring it, but I do not know where you're going and what you're doing, ignoring the seven years and talking about friends like Dell and Bonnie, remember who they are. Jazz comments that are true without sound do you think it's the best? It seems everyone who's blind or has seen us."

Gordon later recalled that "as soon as Thurston came up with the name Sonic Youth, a certain sound that was more of what we wanted to do came about."
  9:45am BillyD:

Thanks. Do you know anything about him? I can't find him on Google or Allmusic. I'm asking because the guitar sounds familiar.
Avatar 10:47am Polyus:

For a moment I thought "who is this young singer who sounds an awful lot like Loudon Wainright?"
Avatar 10:50am Wild Neil:

PEACE All. I remember Louden Wainwright III from MASH when I was a kid in the 70's.
Avatar 10:54am Polyus:

Thanks for the recommendation there, John. I was debating if I wanted to drop $36 or so on this record.
Avatar 10:59am John Allen:

yeah polyus, it feels like an artist's edition. the record works out to be about $12 a pound.
