Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Welcome steveo and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm listener james from westwood:

I'll be listening just as soon as the work being done in my bathroom is done!
Avatar 3:06pm weinstein:

Plumbers can be very noisy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm steveo:

I'm sorry I missed you at the Outpost a couple of weekends ago. The sound art show was great. (And I got to meet Ruth.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm steveo:

(And Mia, of course.)
Avatar 3:08pm weinstein:

steveo, Ruth was super pleased to meet you. She got all happy that real people listen to the show! Sometimes I wonder about that child...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm steveo:

haha, yes she mentioned that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm steveo:

enjoying bulgarian voices...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm doctorjazz:

Hi-you should post when you will be doing a show somewhere in the area, out in Staten Island and Jersey, but would like to run in sometimes.

A real person... tuning in... listening to real people... curate real music... an unreal feeling... hard to pin down... spiritual... mystical... radial... transmissive
Avatar 3:15pm weinstein:

Hey Doctor, what are you looking to hear? Outpost shows? Ende Tymes is coming here soon.
  3:15pm Friendly Ghost:

I'm in one place... weinstein in another... the music from yet a third place, Outpost Artist Resources... where is this we find ourselves
Avatar 3:16pm northguineahills:

Damn, jealous of not being able to hear this live!
Avatar 3:16pm weinstein:

The Ghost! A radio legend! Hey you!

  3:40pm watson:

sounds good!
this is the only WORK 00 show I missed .. so it's good to hear it here. I did have a secret WORK off-site show in Shanghai .. but that 's another story....
anyways .. November 8th Wednesday will be the last regular WORK show at 1090 Wyckoff .....much much thanks to you David for your smart recording and general help .. and the Outpost for this resource.
But here's the thing .. do you want to play Nov 8th? Either with Ian and me .. or your own thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm listener james from westwood:

Work ended before the Bulgarians were done; yaay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm doctorjazz:

When I search for Outpost, I get a few different places in the Google...
Avatar 3:46pm weinstein:

Oy. Watson. Oy.
  3:47pm watson:

try this
outpost artists resources
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm steveo:

or click the link in David's blurb, below the pledge widget...
Avatar 3:48pm weinstein:

@docjazz: yes, Outpost is not the most unique moniker. The full name of the joint is Outpost Artists Resources and that is the web address too. www.outpostartistsresources.org
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm steveo:

my mind is oscillating
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm doctorjazz:

This O'Rourke is very cool.
Went to the link, seems not to have any performances in the near future (unless I'm reading it wrong, which is altogether possible)
Avatar 3:57pm northguineahills:

I was listening to Richard Chartier in the car on the way back to work (just now), this would blend so seamlessly w/ it.
Avatar 4:03pm weinstein:

Re: Outpost. I see the site needs updating but look here to see what Bob Bellevue is planning to do here in Nov:
Avatar 4:05pm weinstein:

ngh: I should dig deeper into Chartier. Thanks for the pointer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm steveo:

"here"? are you able to do this show remotely from queens? are all the drummer shows remote?
Avatar 4:08pm weinstein:

Yes, remote. Some Drummer shows come out of the Jersey City studios but the whole project was launched to give faraway DJs a chance to participate in the WFMU radiosphere.
Avatar 4:09pm weinstein:

And thanks, steveo, I saw what you did!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm steveo:

excellent. I wasn't aware. that explains the odd little snippet of song that comes through between show changes... (my pleasure; & i agree that this O'Rourke is very cool).
Avatar 4:11pm weinstein:

And speaking of marathon thank yous, along with steveo... James F, David R, Matteo L... thank you all and a big aw shucks.
Avatar 4:12pm weinstein:

Yes, as the stream control is passed from DJ to DJ, city to city, and sometimes around the globe, there is that little hiccup of fragments.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm melinda:

hi people!
Avatar 4:16pm weinstein:

om madme padme omelinda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Webhamster Henry:

Don't think I've tuned out, because I haven't.
Avatar 4:30pm weinstein:

Ha, well that was 40 minutes of mindfulness, no time to chat!
Avatar 4:41pm northguineahills:

What was that sound installation gallery that used to be on Broadway and the 30s, and then moved to Brooklyn around 2008? I saw Richard Chartier do an installation there in 2007 that had 8 channels in a pitch black room w/ a phosphorous compound that dripped into a pool w/ minimal traces of glowing explosions w/ the electronic sound of minimal bass pulse waves and ryoji ikeda-esque treble clurps w/ occasional drone passages.
Avatar 4:41pm weinstein:

Diapason, Michael Schumacher's place
Avatar 4:43pm northguineahills:

Yes. that's it David! I leave NYC and my memories melt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Webhamster Henry:

Drones for $800, Alex?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Gary:

Aforementioned Ethiopia show is at: wfmu.org...
Avatar 4:52pm weinstein:

Yay Gary! And thanks all for joining in today.
Avatar 4:53pm northguineahills:

Always a fan of Qawali, and I've somehow never came across the Sabri Bros.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Gary:

Oh, the Sabri brothers are incredible, NGH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm steveo:

time to go; thanks, David!
Avatar 4:59pm weinstein:

pleasure, steveo, thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm listener james from westwood:

Thanks, y'all!
