45 Train!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm rbx:

hello Duane and Passengers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm blee:

oh yes.
Avatar 12:07pm Jshatan:

Sorry I"m late - I got caught up in The Supremes with Bing Crosby and Jose Feliciano on YouTube - a bizarre but fun 60s medley from one of Bing's TV specials. He sounded great on the Jimmy Webb songs, btw.
Avatar 12:09pm Cheri Pi:

Duane, Duaniacs, Boogie people!
Avatar 12:09pm Jshatan:

Lordy - when Duane starts spinning the 7' 45's, there is no one better!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Pardon me, is this the singles car?

Of course, duh! They're all singles today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Passaic River Blues:

This Buddy Ace side is ridiculous. This is going to be a good one.
Avatar 12:19pm Duane:

Hello Fam!! SO happy to have you back. All the singles (going steady)ladies, all the single ladies (going steady & gents)
Avatar 12:21pm PKNY:

Hello Duane and the 'iacs! I see that I clicky-starred this Sisters Love before, so I hit the Discogs...they do "Blackbird" on the b-side!
Avatar 12:22pm Jshatan:

Singles Going Steady? I'm trying to imagine a segue into The Buzzcocks...
Avatar 12:23pm PKNY:

I know this "Nobody" track from the "Soul Boulders" mix that Matthew Africa and DJ B-Cause did, good to put an artist/title to this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Passaic River Blues:

I know this as the sample source for Blacka'nized. So good!
Avatar 12:30pm kirk from beer city usa:

speaking of samples...
Avatar 12:33pm kirk from beer city usa:

and again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm BronwynB:

hey duane and everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm Kat in Chicago:

You got to give a heck!
Avatar 12:37pm PKNY:

Wow, didn't know Morrisey used to have such a smooth, soulful voice!
  12:38pm queems:

it's the best he has ever sounded
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Kat in Chicago:

LOL. Didn't know there was another Smiths, v confused for a minute
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Kat in Chicago:

I knew there was a Smith, but not extra Smiths
Avatar 12:42pm Jshatan:

I just shared the show on Twitter and predicted a #reggae set - don't prove me wrong LOL.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm chris:

hi, Duane and all.
Avatar 12:48pm PKNY:

Smth's version of "I Just Wanna Make Love to You" is some hot fire that can be had for cheap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Kat in Chicago:

So Smith was those Smiths! Never woulda known.
Avatar 12:50pm Eli:

Avatar 12:56pm Eli:

This speaks to me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Passaic River Blues:

Speaking of J. Dilla! Thank you, Duane.
Avatar 1:03pm kwhitehead:

Love this set, of course. Record envy for sure..
Avatar 1:03pm kwhitehead:

and this Pretty Purdie track is taking my breath away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm chris:

Hugh is soooo great!
Avatar 1:04pm Jeff:

Early parts of that Gap Mangione (older brother of Chuck!) sound like music I've heard used interstitially in episodes of, say, Columbo.

Which isn't meant to be a knock on either one, just interesting... late-60s musical currents finding their way into adventurous TV production in the early '70s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Holy smokes, Hugh.
Avatar 1:05pm northguineahills:

what Greg said....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm frozen_peas:

this cover is fantastic!
Avatar 1:09pm Jshatan:

Is my dream coming true? Roots, rock, REGGAE.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Kat in Chicago:

I wasn't watching the playlist and had to come over to make sure I was hearing what I thought I was hearing...
Avatar 1:13pm Duane:

Kat in CHicago: Yup!! THat was the opening tune heard at the beginning of Moonlight!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Kat in Chicago:

I pay no attention to movies these days and had to search for that, I'm embarrassed to say. Duh. I will fix that oversight
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Passaic River Blues:

Oh Jesus... "Vigorton" is slaying me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Max Romeo ALL DAY
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Passaic River Blues:

@Greg: TRUTH.
  1:24pm rf:

This Saltfish is fantastic
Avatar 1:24pm northguineahills:

I love saltfish. I'm so lucky I found an authentic Jamaican spot in my new town (in FL) ran by an elderly Jamaican couple, just like my fave spots in Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights.
Avatar 1:25pm slugluv1313:

oooooo LOVE this version of "Crimson & Clover" -- better than the original, i dare say!
  1:26pm queems:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm chris:

2008 has never sounded so 1968 with that Ersen track. holy freakin' wow that was great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Cal Zone!:

Great set!
  1:46pm Arapahoe:

Remember when the frank sinatra version of this song was in the sopranos it was a very great scene
Avatar 1:46pm Jshatan:

"A gasser of a year"? I don't recall that from the Sinatra version ;-).
  1:47pm mr_mike:

  1:47pm andrewb:

And B.Y.S. too, for that matter.
Avatar 1:58pm Eli:

Duane, you are making my day. Hahahahaha
Avatar 1:58pm Polyus:

I'd probably fly out there to hear this set again verbatim at a club.
(someone would have to buy me a ticket, of course)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Kat in Chicago:

I visit NYC a couple times a year and two of those visits have fortunately coincided with Duane DJ gigs. Having much FOMO over the meetup tomorrow.
