hello Sam and equestrians
Avatar 9:09pm still b/p:

Hold on! Triple A for tots comin' to set your kiddie car right and get you back on! On your own for getting that diaper squared away, though. Maybe a song in that..."When Your Diaper Droops In A Desert Driveway."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm Sam Segal:

Hello, Friends! I love you all. It's gone be one of THOSE shows.
  9:52pm Gilly Siegel:

Greetings to all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm Jeff Golick:

Eggleston? Or am I getting my tricycles mixed up....

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01pm Sam Segal:

Eggleston, indeed, Jeff! Good eye.
Peace and greetings, @Gilly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm Sam Segal:

Hold up, Jeff. Let me correct us both...that's a Garry Winogrand photo.
  10:08pm Gilly Siegel:

Around The World In a Day is good, but Dirtymind is my favorite album, in terms of more dancy, upbeat Prince music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Sam Segal:

I am a huge Dirty Mind fan as well, @Gilly. Have you listened to Sign "O" The Times? That's my all time favorite.
Avatar 10:10pm coelacanth∅:

still b/p haha!
...so, is eggleston the maker of the kidmobile or the photographer? if it's the manufacturer i'm awed by both of your abilities to identify it. (only one of yours if it was your machine, Sam, and you in the picture)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm Sam Segal:

No, no, it reminded both of us of a different series of photos by Eggleston, but its actually a photo by Garry Winogrand.
  10:11pm Gilly Siegel:

I own Sign o the times on CD it's quite good
Avatar 10:11pm northguineahills:

What I miss? Wow, It's like Kurt took over!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm Sam Segal:

This stream's got room for two Prince-heads, @NGH!
Avatar 10:12pm coelacanth∅:

okay then. i never heard of him or her - or other...i like the photograph though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Sam Segal:

Oh, I highly suggest a google image search on Garry Winogrand, @coelacanth.
Avatar 10:16pm coelacanth∅:

i know they say when you fall off your horse you should get right back on; but after this (i.pinimg.com...) i couldn't. i just couldn't.
- maybe it was because i was 13 years old though.
Avatar 10:17pm coelacanth∅:

i image searched "eggleston tricycle" and that came up with the caption "better than eggleston?"
  10:40pm Gilly Siegel:

My band member is a massive sparks fan we listen to their stuff all the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Sam Segal:

I was just thinking they seem like a band you'd be into, @Gilly.
  10:43pm Gilly Siegel:

I assumed Sparks would be something you liked too, do you listen to Pink Project?
  10:46pm Carmichael:

Heya Sam. Suffering from horse lossage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm Sam Segal:

@Carmichael, you've come to the right place.
Avatar 11:00pm coelacanth∅:

thanks Sam i just wasted 45 minutes looking at street photography!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm Sam Segal:

Far from a waste, @coel!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm melinda:

I am a fan of both Eggleston and Winogrand. I was thinking the photo was by the guy who did Suburbia. Bill someone, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm melinda:

If I remember correctly William Eggleston made an appearance or was quoted in the Big Star doc talking about seeing a young Alex Chilton at Memphis art events, since his parents were art people. Interesting overlap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm melinda:

@Sam I concur, never a waste!
Avatar 11:17pm coelacanth∅:

i only ever bought records if i wanted to listen to them, and i own a few 12" singles. (didn't buy too much of anything euramerican* in the 80s though.)

*(i'm coining that now, if it hasn't been coined already!)
Avatar 11:19pm northguineahills:

Uhmm, I buy records b/c they're records and I want to listen to them and/or dj them. I'm a simple person. Put a record in front of me when I have money, i''d probably buy it (Now only do so at live shows).
Avatar 11:22pm northguineahills:

I still buy cassettes and cdrs for crying out loud! (Just got a lathe cut last week even though I've yet to get my turntables out of their boxes (I might be delaying it, as I haven't bought recs in ages, and now I have the means to so....)

Avatar 11:23pm coelacanth∅:

well, sometimes if a record is a little more expensive than it's worth for my own listening pleasure (this always in relation to what else i'd be able to buy with the same money) but i think it's "collectible", then i might go for it anyway. but i've never bought anything i wasn't planning to enjoy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm Sam Segal:

I am the same way, @NGH! You do run into the problem sometimes with 12" singles, where they cost a little less than an LP, but they only include about 2 songs.
Avatar 11:25pm coelacanth∅:

i buy cassettes and cds as well. (though i can't buy much of anything right now)
Avatar 11:26pm northguineahills:

I was put on a moratorium to only buy recorded media at concerts after I ran out of shelf room in 2010.
Avatar 11:28pm coelacanth∅:

i've been disappointed by 12"ers more often than not; but there's the occasional gem.
i'm not your usual dance music fan though. (my most prized 12" might be an extended "lullaby" by the cure)
Avatar 11:32pm northguineahills:

Yeah, most 12"s are disappointing, especially mid-major labels. They are a very small percentage of my collection.

Dig anything from Mark Ernestus.....
Avatar 11:33pm coelacanth∅:

this is new to me. i like it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm Sam Segal:

Were you referring to the Mark Ernestus joint, @coel?
Avatar 11:40pm coelacanth∅:

i was
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm Sam Segal:

Ah, I highly recommend all of his output from the last couple years. Have you listened to Basic Channel?
Avatar 11:51pm coelacanth∅:

basic channel?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm Sam Segal:

Early Berlin Techno duo, featuring Mark Ernestus and Moritz Von Oswald. Quite a bit different than Ernestus's recent output, but still very good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59pm Jeff Golick:

Winograd! Of course. Too out West for Eggleston, probably. Thanks, Sam!
Avatar 12:00am coelacanth∅:

mexico i think it is, that photograph.
Avatar 12:01am coelacanth∅:

Thanks Sam!
good night everyone.
Avatar 12:04am coelacanth∅:

(no probably not mexico. i misread. i think tijuana mexico is where he died.)
