Very different sound than Heron Oblivion we have here. I dig both.

Evening, Jeff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08am sberger:

Morning Jeff...Love Meg Baird!
Avatar 12:08am Jennifer_PNW:

Saw Heron Oblivion live a few years ago, pretty on point show.
Avatar 12:10am Jeff Conklin:

HO are cool but it has nothing on Meg's solo stuff
  12:12am DJ E:

I also prefer Comets on Fire to HO.
  12:12am DJ E:

and morning all!
  12:25am J Dream:

I was about to crash early here on the west coast, but.... No way I am sleeping now. Thank you for filling the Sunday Twin Peaks void......
Avatar 12:29am Jeff Conklin:

@Paul: Quite welcome. Swedish psych > Lynch anyway
Avatar 12:30am Jennifer_PNW:

Paul, I was just discussing the Sunday Twin Peak void with my roommate.
Avatar 12:30am Jeff Conklin:

Big thanks to all of you who have kicked in for the year end fundraiser. Massively appreciated.

And to those who haven't, there's that box up there that needs your love.

  12:31am Paul:

Damn right! Throw in some Spacious Minds and I have to agree with you. ;-)
Avatar 12:31am Jeff Conklin:

I'm no dictator but can we keep the TP discussion to every other corner of the internet where it lives already?
  12:32am Paul:

Sorry Jeff for bringing it up :-(
Avatar 12:32am Jeff Conklin:

It's all good its just EVERYWHERE haha
  12:33am DJ E:

I have never seen Twin Peaks. I honestly feel like a social outcast. my dog won't even look at me anymore.
Avatar 12:34am Jeff Conklin:

DJ E: Me neither. You're not alone.
  12:34am DJ E:

Also, VU! just got my John Cale at BAM ticket!
  12:34am Paul:

Unfortunately it is very limited in my world here in San Jose....
Avatar 12:35am AdamFromOldeKenzo:

Morning, friends, I'm on some mushrooms a lady I met last night gave me...
Avatar 12:35am Jeff Conklin:

Yo, a lot of stoned people listening tonight. Lots of pressure to deliver the goods.
Avatar 12:37am AdamFromOldeKenzo:

Well you're doing good so far, I got home while the last song was playing...you're not "bumming my mellow", ah ha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am Fuzzy:

I'm at work -- only drug I'm on is caffeine.
  12:37am DJ E:

People hate on Yule, but I kinda like his organ playing on this. I assume that is Yule.
Avatar 12:38am Jennifer_PNW:

I feel the same, DJ E.
Avatar 12:38am tuner fish:

VE was always the shit!
Avatar 12:41am Jeff Conklin:

Thank goodness you guys werent tripping balls the last few weeks for the REALLY BUMMER sets.
Avatar 12:42am tuner fish:

this week is definitely more "up"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am fleep:

I'm only smoking True OG, I feel like a lightweight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am sberger:

  12:42am MONEYBAG$:

  12:44am Hippie Jesus:

Calvary Cross is where I did my best work!
Avatar 12:44am AdamFromOldeKenzo:

  12:53am J Dream:

Actually, I was tripping last week too, Jeff.
Avatar 12:59am AdamFromOldeKenzo:

I voted for the 13th floors version on the twitter poll
Avatar 1:00am blankemon:

I'm a jerk who tried to write in Them.
Avatar 1:07am Jeff Conklin:

Ha, nobody's a jerk. You're just all wrong...
Avatar 1:08am blankemon:

I'm a major Byrds freak, too, just love that Van vocal.
Avatar 1:10am AdamFromOldeKenzo:

Yeah it is weird to me that you don't think that Them version is as good as the other two, Jeff! Maybe it'll click one day though...
Avatar 1:12am Jeff Conklin:

I like the Them version but as I said its too wannabe Stones sounding to me.
Avatar 1:13am AdamFromOldeKenzo:

I guess I didn't really hear the stones too much growing up though...so maybe it sounds fresher to me.
Avatar 1:14am blankemon:

Well, Them were definitely cast in that mold, they were just better than most, mainly because they were fronted by a genius with leather lungs.
Avatar 1:23am blankemon:

Wow...this is an interesting Dark Star already
  1:23am Paul:

Am I the only one that prefers the Damon & Naomi (w/ Ghost friends) version?
  1:43am Tidy666:

Thank you for consistently playing grateful dead jams..it always delivers!
Avatar 1:51am blankemon:

yeah this set is new to me. digging it.
Avatar 1:51am blankemon:

read the "lost live dead" post about this show, but never actually heard it
  1:56am J Dream:

Oh yes and I'm on the GD family's tab this evening...
Avatar 1:57am blankemon:

I gotta think being in the room for those Pig raps was something else entirely. I'm sure a lot is lost.
Avatar 1:59am Jeff Conklin:

Possibly, blankemon but they are (mostly) so tedious on tape.
Avatar 2:00am blankemon:

Don't disagree - just thinking the vibe in the room must have been another story.
  2:00am J Dream:

Couldn't agree more on those Pig raps

*Oh and I did a two year stub in FL as a kid too; also vowed to never return... rough

for the trippers: "Hold in reverence this Great Symbol of Transformation, and the whole world comes to you."
Avatar 2:13am blankemon:

This Anna St. Louis cut is a keeper, man.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14am Mark R:

Pirate's World was a 100-acre pirate-themed amusement park. They hosted numerous rock concerts there. I remember that some tracks on "Johnny Winter And Live" were recorded there. (Thank you, wikipedia.)
  2:17am om:

"All things pass. A sunrise does not last all morning. All things pass. A cloudburst does not last all day. All things pass. Nor a sunset all night. All things pass."
Avatar 2:18am Jeff Conklin:

The whole Ann St Louis release is killer
Avatar 2:18am blankemon:

It's not out yet, is it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18am Mark R:

I hope the trippers are still up when I start my show at 3. I'm interested n their feedback.
Avatar 2:19am Jeff Conklin:

Might be on Bandcamp, blankemon. Physical is tape only though there may be a vinyl pressing in the future
Avatar 2:20am blankemon:

Thanks, i will investigate, Jeff.
  2:23am om:

"swim into life and return to the source"

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30am Mark R:

"This is it!" is what Lee Harvey Oswald said when he was arrested in that movie theatre in Dallas.

"Can you float through the universe of your body and not lose your way?...Can you float beyond life and death?"

  2:45am Clint in Reno:

Loving this song.
Avatar 2:56am Jeff Conklin:
