Pseu, I agree with you 100%. Glad you're saying it out loud!
  12:45pm steve from gberg:

Right on Pseu!!! with you all the way!
  12:45pm melinda:

For most of its history the NRA didn't interpret the 2nd Amendment the way they do now and their emphasis was more on the responsibilities of gun ownership than on rights. It took a different turn in the 70s went on a propaganda campaign. Maybe part of the solution is to expose the history of gun control, which was an accepted part of civil society for most of our history. The Wild West mentality is actually a much more recent development.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm MD:

"Now is not the time to talk about gun control." OK, when is a good time, 2PM on the 32nd of never? Come on! Enough is enough, I say. Fix this right now, today, this afternoon. Good gravy!

The NRA used to be a firearm safety organization, and actually campaigned for gun control until a certain someone took over in the early 80s.

Avatar 12:54pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar 12:55pm Pseu Braun:

Kurt is banned for using curses against a WFMU DJ. Call me what you want, but with love.
  12:55pm Listener142985:

Pseu, collective responsibility only goes so far in our system. Sometimes we reap what others sow. That aside those who want gun laws changed should not just limit their response to social media rants--they could join an advocacy group, of which there are many.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Ike:

"Cracker" is probably one of those wacko "white genocide" guys who thinks he's clever here, pretending to speak for what he thinks are "liberals." I'll give him this, that's slightly more advanced Swiftian thinking than you usually get from such cactus-brained buttmunches, but nonetheless not remotely convincing.
Avatar 12:57pm Pseu Braun:

Ike, he's not trying to be sarcastic.

How, have I not had Pseu's show faved? I know I've listened to here many times before. Is it b/c the show has a different name.

rage ferrets would make great form of locomotion, akin to rollerskates.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Ike:

Might as well be, though. That's just counterproductive and plays right into the hands of frothing maniacs who squawk about "white genocide" IMHO.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Kat in Chicago:

Did you hear the Duvall/Nilsson demo duet of "He Needs Me" on Ken's show? Lovely!
  1:05pm Listener142985:

Closing bit: those concerned about guns could convey to their elected reps that easing rules on silencers and imposing national concealed carry reciprocity are really bad ideas--both are being pushed by the GOP in Washington. And Pseu, thanks for the great music--helps a lot.

Look, let’s focus on what is important: Robert Altman’s “Popeye” is a horrible film.
Avatar 1:11pm JakeGould:

Also, “Superman III?” Garbage film.
Avatar 1:11pm JakeGould:

“Star Trek: The Motion Picture?” Such crap.

Yeah, I never said it was good. Superman III though is a travesty

Anyone here ever meet war veterans–U.S. and otherwise—who have been in actual combat? Fun personal observation: Utterly nobody I have ever met who has seen combat is actually a “gung ho” gun owner. None.

I even had a Bulgarian co-worker at a past job who I only found out waaay into me working there was a soldier. He only talked about it in passing because he saw what the reality was and as he said in his thick accent, “Bullshit.”

Jake: my spouse is a VA shrink. Those guys hate this stuff; suffering the aftereffects; brings back the feeling they hated—namely, that of constant panciky fear and murderous hatred; also that rapid fire thing sends them ducking for cover; the rational ones know guns have a purpose (much as Pseu expressed earlier)—self- and family- and property-defense, sport hunting, and necessary target practice to keep weapon of choice qualification. Sorry if tl;dr
