  7:00am Readie Righteous:

@bnowb I think maybe some ppl can't handle bad news without snark as a coping mechanism. Wonder if they feel compassion or sadness?
  7:01am Readie Righteous:

Liked Petty with the Wilburys too
Avatar 7:02am lincroft:

My wife has a severe negative reaction when American Girl comes on because of Silence of the Lambs....
Avatar 7:02am bnowb:

@readie... your probably right. i guess i do it too sometimes. And then when one is sad its just not the time you wanna hear it. Thats a great psych question isn't it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02am maestroso:

Nice sound in this Wye Oak track.

  7:06am D:

I got into Tom Petty late around 81 and when I did I had to have everything forty-fives LPS on the original shelter label Island pristine condition does around record bins all over Tampa Bay until I can find them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06am Aaron Working In Newark:

Readie it was at the PNC art center.. I had lawn seats, but after Petty a woman walked out from the seating area and asked me if I wanted her tickets to see Dylan and I said sure.. they were like 2nd row seats when I found them.
  7:06am JakeGould:

@ReadieRighteous: “I think maybe some ppl can't handle bad news without snark as a coping mechanism. Wonder if they feel compassion or sadness?” As the guy who BnowB is vaguely referencing, I feel compassion and sadness. And the jokes I made were earlier in the day and not mean spirited. BnowB is just posting endless B.S. like he always does.

I also felt compassion for Shooby Taylor earlier that said day and a few weeks back I expressed real compassion to someone else on Dave Hill’s message board who I have met in person who talked about some deep family trauma.

I also felt real “compassion or sadness” for those suffering in Puerto Rico—anyone “smoking up” hear even mention them—since I have neighbors and co-workers with family affected by Hurricane Maria and I have donated solid $$$ to help them out.

Which is all to say: Some of you need context and perspective and maybe should stop posting so much.

@CoohJohn: What’s up! Hope you are doing well. Posting less nowadays, but listening in spirit most of the time.
Avatar 7:06am bnowb:

dave that sucks.. Maybe you got spared a rotten apple.
@katebush sounding amazing now

Avatar 7:10am Brian in UK:

Good morning Clay.
First time I heard American Girl was on Roger McGuinn's last (not great) solo album. He was always good at picking up good tunes early on, Mr Tambourine Man anyone. It was like he was picking up the baton that McGuinn was getting tired of carrying.
  7:10am Readie Righteous:

My brother worked the Petty show at Montage Mountain in Scranton one year, and as they were loading out, Petty gave him one of his guitar picks, I'll bet he still has that thing.

I don't know if you've seen this Clay (from the John McPhee profile 9/28/17 in the NY Times, the writer is asked what he remembered of the drive to McPhees house) "I remembered, on the radio, a D.J. named Clay Pigeon saying that scientists had successfully encoded a 19th-century film of a running horse into a living cell." Ken--the temp gig ALWAYS sucks sort of. Good people though. I am just sick of the fact that the main joint that I work with insists on blocking out Internet traffic. If they just whitelisted music sites we'd be so much more productive.

@vincent I agree with the spirit of not arguing. Looks like some folks just have a different way of relating in this crazy world. I didn't see Jake's comment in real time. This phone app delays Accu comments sometimes.

Yea hearts dropped like mad after recent update on profile for donations maybe?

It is the human mind that contrives, and devises, not the tool.
An argument that the Devil is the enabler is a stronger one.

Many things could be taken into ones hotel room; a bag of gumballs, golf balls, ben wa balls, acorns, apples, chestnuts...

Its a sick mind that devises and follows through with a plan to turn these items into "tools" of destruction against innocent folks.
