Nothing says S*E*X*Y like H.P. Lovecraft.
  12:01pm Dean:

You can't spell Lovecraft without the L-O-V-E!
Avatar 12:02pm Tony Coulter:

Ha! Very C-R-A-F-T-y of you, Dean!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm listener james from westwood:

Good Tuesday, Tony and all! If those two on the cover of that book have kids, she'd better lay in a store of cattle for the young'ns!
Avatar 12:04pm Mayuko:

A ship sank to this happy rhythm?
Avatar 12:05pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, hey, James & Mayuko!!
Avatar 12:05pm Mayuko:

The most cheerful boat accident I ever heard!
  12:06pm Dean:

And you can't spell Titanic without...nope, can't do it.
Avatar 12:06pm V Priceless:

Mr. Tony - hey!
Avatar 12:08pm Tony Coulter:

Ahoy, V.P.! Watch out for the iceberg....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm doctorjazz:

Hey Tony and fellow listeners!
Avatar 12:17pm Tony Coulter:

Heya, Dr. J!
Avatar 12:20pm Sem Chumbo:

Hello, and good afternoon, Tony, and all.
Avatar 12:20pm Tony Coulter:

Greetings, Sem!
Avatar 12:45pm βrian:

Is that Seitan speaking? I'm hungry!
  12:45pm Mark Williams:

i can smell Bene Gesserit a mile away. What does that make me?
  12:47pm Dean:

A B[ene G]ess[er]it Hound?
Avatar 12:47pm V Priceless:

@ Mark: a Guild navigator? ; )
Avatar 12:47pm Tony Coulter:

Greets, βrian & Mark!

And now, Alain Neffe will do his Pink Floyd impression
Avatar 12:47pm βrian:

Part of the Gesserit olfaction faction?
  12:49pm Mark Williams:

@βrian - yes! Ever since Tony set off that Insane stink bomb, I've not been the same.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Webhamster Henry:

Good afternoon, as measured in all timezones.
Avatar 12:51pm Tony Coulter:

Hey there, international Webhamster!
Avatar 12:51pm βrian:

The sun is always over the yard arm somewhere, so let's drink!
  12:54pm Mark Williams:

I do so love this Ayers track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Webhamster Henry:

Speaking of Sunshine, are you doing any eclipse activities in Portland?
Avatar 12:55pm Tony Coulter:

"Feel what I feel when I'm feeling what I feel" - makes sense to me.
  12:56pm Mark Williams:

like when you're taking drugs to make music to take drugs to.
Avatar 12:56pm Tony Coulter:

@ Webhamster: It's probably a lack of imagination on my part, but I am totally uninterested in the eclipse. Now the supermoon, that caught my fancy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Webhamster Henry:

What about the end-of-the-world, 2012 edition? Anyway, if it seems dark at 10:19 on Monday (PDT), it's because the sun is ransomed by the moon.
Avatar 1:03pm V Priceless:

still got my creepy crawler kit - ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Webhamster Henry:

I can still smell the undercooked glow-in-the-dark goop!
Avatar 1:03pm Cecile:

ah, AKA the "second degree burn generator"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Webhamster Henry:

The lizard and the spider were the best.
Avatar 1:03pm Tony Coulter:

@ Webhamster: I already know how the story ends. The earthlings pay up and the sun is released unharmed....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm listener james from westwood:

I had this, too, and hope I won't be paying some grim genetic toll owing to whatever the hell chemicals were used in it!
Avatar 1:04pm Tony Coulter:

Hiya, Cecile!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Webhamster Henry:

The Vacu-form was even worse, burning polystyrene sticking to your fingers, and lots of cuts when cutting them out.
Avatar 1:10pm Cecile:

hey Tony!
Avatar 1:11pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

am witchu.
Avatar 1:12pm Tony Coulter:

Bless you, Turnip.
Avatar 1:12pm βrian:

I forget. Weren't some of the Creepy Crawlers advertised as being edible?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Webhamster Henry:

Those were "Incredible Edibles" .. different formula!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Webhamster Henry:

Why are we still alive?
Avatar 1:14pm βrian:

D'oh! Nobody told us.
Avatar 1:18pm Cheyenne:

I do remember the EZ Bake Oven being a thing I got for birthday/xmas/something. Used it once. The whole thing smelled like burning plastic and the 'cake' was the size of a single pancake that stuck to the pan. It mysteriously disappeared from my childhood home shortly afterward.
Avatar 1:18pm Cheyenne:

Also hi Tony & frands
Avatar 1:19pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, hey Cheyenne!
Avatar 1:19pm northguineahills:

@Brian: Well, the illusion we're alive still exists.

I found some lawn darts a garage sale once (way after the ban), that was a fun summer).
Avatar 1:20pm Tony Coulter:

and .. greets NGH!
Avatar 1:22pm geezerette:

Hello, Tony and gang over there. I'm over here.
Avatar 1:23pm geezerette:

Avatar 1:29pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, Rich! Something for Portland to be proud of!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Rich in Washington:

We may have given him pocket change at one time or another.
Avatar 1:32pm V Priceless:

my kingdom for a pretzel jetzel
Avatar 1:42pm Tony Coulter:

The air was so bad here in Portland for a week or so that I felt I needed to play this song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Uncle Michael:

Time won't let me wait. Work won't let me comment.
Avatar 1:42pm Tony Coulter:

Avatar 2:00pm Tony Coulter:

Gettin' it on in outer space!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Carmichael:

Heya Tony and peeps. Salem is in the direct viewing area for the eclipse. Good thing my daughter is still at home with us.
Avatar 2:07pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, Carmichael! I'm staying as far away from Salem as possible (without leaving Portland, that is)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Carmichael:

Yeah, all the usual eclipsing suspects. And hotel rooms are about $800k a night. We're coming up the following week. Sounds like Portland visit is in order.
  2:21pm Dean:

You know, all this talk of the eclipse, combined with a comment I left this a.m. on Matt W.'s show regarding Pete Sears, connected the dots for me. The name of Sears' group Moonalice is a play on Ralph Kramden's regular threat.
Avatar 2:22pm Chris from DC:

Settling for 80% eclipse here, thanks. Also, yay, Deep Purple.
Avatar 2:23pm Tony Coulter:

Greetings, Chris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm JtotheK:

good afternoon Tony, hi everyone!
Avatar 2:24pm Tony Coulter:

Good pre-eclipse afternoon, JtotheK!
Avatar 2:27pm βrian:

We're going to be at 85%, I guess. But the price is right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Carmichael:

Who doesn't love the Fudge? Oh, and I heard the long version of Rare Earth's Get Ready last night. Way over the top rockin'.
Avatar 2:29pm Chris from DC:

Nice, following with th'Fudge.
Avatar 2:31pm Tony Coulter:

Hmm: Which would make a better band name: "Deep Fudge" or "Purple Vanilla"?
Avatar 2:32pm Chris from DC:

Purple Fudge?
Avatar 2:33pm Tony Coulter:

Or Deep Vanilla. They all work.
  2:33pm Dean:

Black Blue Purple Deep Vanilla Sabbath Fudge Oyster Cult
  2:36pm Dean:

Should have added "...on the Skids."
  2:41pm Southern Culture:

"Dirt Track Date"
Avatar 2:42pm Tony Coulter:

Ahoy there, Southern Culture ... on the Skids
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm listener james from westwood:

In the 80s, my circle would refer to one particular tangle of hair-metal bands collectively as Great White Lion Snake.
Avatar 2:47pm Tony Coulter:

Claude Lombard: the best Europop contestant ever, by a galactic mile (competing for Belgium).
Avatar 2:51pm Tony Coulter:

@ Listener James: "tangle of hair-metal" -- ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm listener james from westwood:

Thanks! I choose my group nouns with care!

That "Car Wash" track was quite soulful. Never saw the film so didn't know it had such types of music in it.
Avatar 2:56pm Tony Coulter:

"Car Wash" is a pretty good film -- worth seeing, methinks.
Avatar 2:56pm V Priceless:

thanx Tony!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm listener james from westwood:

Thanks, Tony!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Doug Schulkind:
