ok, geezerette and everyone else bested me! :)
  5:38pm allybell:

turning on the radio just now to unexpectedly hear the Dead made my day
Avatar 5:39pm TDK60:

Oh yeah, Anthem of the Sun is the Dead's most raw and experimental, their 2nd. (I'n not a Deadhead.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Michael 98145:

the first Dead recording were pretty remarkable. saw them only once at the Hollywood Bowl.
Avatar 5:41pm northguineahills:

@TDK60, one of the three I own if I don't count John Oswald's remix, Greyfolded (which I highly recommend).
Avatar 5:42pm TDK60:

Hi N.G.H. I don't know that one. I like the first 3 and parts of others. (Not a Deadhead but I *am* a Jefferson Airplane maniac.)
Avatar 5:44pm geezerette:

Alla youse! Yes!
And Scott, imperceptible segue!
Avatar 5:45pm northguineahills:

Greyfolded is more of atmospheric ambient instrumental remix of years of live performances in the early 70s, and one of the few to have the Dead's (sort of) blessing.
Avatar 5:45pm geezerette:

Michael, lucky! Was everyone stoned?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Carmichael:

I don't like the Dead's nowhere-bound noodling on much of their later stuff. This was tight noodling ....

I didn't make it home in time comment on that g.d. Grateful Dead track but did do some research through "The Robert M. Petersen Papers" and got inspired, nonetheless. And Phil's bass line was sublime.
