hey Fabio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Ken From Hyde Park:

"Mr. Giant Man" would make a good parade song. I wonder if there are any marching band recordings of it.
Avatar 3:13pm TDK60:

Good afternoon Fabio, from steamy Manhattan.

Avatar 3:25pm TDK60:

Is that bagpipes? Brother Jack MacDuff?
Avatar 3:25pm Chris from DC:

Yeah, more pipes.
Avatar 3:26pm TDK60:

Excuse me, that was Rufus Harley that played jazz bagpipes.
  3:27pm time killer:

@fabio is it pourimg yet on the wfmu studios? so far its dry here in the bronx
Avatar 3:30pm Fabio:

@time killer: nothing here yet
Avatar 3:31pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

HEY, I missed an opportunity to commemorate the passing of James Last, last month (2015) -- I vaguely remember there being some hoopdiedoo on this very program when it happened (?)
Avatar 3:32pm Fabio:

@ Rev. Turnip Druid: yes, a very mild Hoopdiedoo, but yeah...

FWIW, monsoons coming down now in this locale, 80 miles north of NYC. The internet is still up.
Avatar 3:39pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

[checks weather radar] - holy crap, y'all up there.
Avatar 3:40pm TDK60:

Larry Taylor indeed was bassist in Canned Heat, also with John Mayall. Saw him once with Mayall. Great blues-rock bassist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm redkayak:

Good stuff here.....
Avatar 3:50pm TDK60:

Wikip. on "Music Is The Healing Force" lists Ayler as playing bagpipes along with tenor sax.

let's hear some New Grass!
Avatar 3:57pm northguineahills:

Ayler always works!
Avatar 3:59pm Wild Neil:

PEACE all. My 13 year old has a hard time believing shows like this exist...I told him King Crimson seems pretty normal when you listen to literal....noise. He just could not get over it. I am trying to stretch his musical parameters beyond....Queen and Metric. I play Merle Haggard, King Crimson and other stuff like that for him....
Avatar 4:00pm Wild Neil:

And Can Tago Mago....

Wow, Jodorowsky, that's amazing.
Avatar 4:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Endless Poetry! Need to see this. Kickstarter contributors were given a download of the film but I'm waiting for a proper theater experience if possible...
  4:20pm Brendan:

Decadent buffoonery is the best kind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@TDK60: Yes - legendary occurrence when it was on fire & a cop came onstage to tell PeteTownshend & he kicked him in the nads & went to jail...
Avatar 4:25pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Like a lot of folks, my first exposure to P.Henry was the SpookyTooth LP "ceremony" -- Many people hate it but it's got charm... but it led to much greater discoveries...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(...which is pretty decadent buffoonery...I may be conflating tales - but yes you're right & TheWh♂ is why I know...)
Avatar 4:27pm northguineahills:

I found the SpookyTooth LP and my friend at the record store said I wouldn't like, as it was too normal and proggy for my tastes (at the time).
Avatar 4:31pm northguineahills:

(I dig it now)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I found out on EFD's show last night that DJ Terre T's bed music is/was a Pierre Henry composition.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I love how he's Avant but Fun & charming - reminds me of Miro or Calder (in the Visual) - if comparisons that make any sense...& here's to Artaud.

Avatar 5:01pm geezerette:

  5:11pm Brendan:

l'agneau = lamb ...Lanolin (from Latin lāna, ‘wool’, and oleum, ‘oil’), also called wool wax or wool grease, is a wax secreted by the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Lewis:

Henry's ouvre is quite spectacular...
  5:15pm Bruce S.:

Hi Fabio-Just tuned in and missed Albert A.- I came of age in the 60's but not aware of him & just googled him. Nice piece on him in The Guardian from Sept 27, 2010. Another great artist who died young. Thanks for your great music curation!
Avatar 5:16pm Cecile:

this is a beautiful piece.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm Carmichael:

I like this, especially the blips and bleeps.
Avatar 5:23pm coelacanth∅:

i like the blips better than the bleeps
Avatar 5:25pm northguineahills:

I like the bleeps and the blips more.
Avatar 5:25pm TehBadDr:

This Pierre Henry stuff is great! I like Blips and Bleeps, but what really gets me randy is pulse width modulation!
